Born to Run Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 LUV Serotonin, Be Sweet and We're Good so far!
D/X Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 Thanks for all your comments! But... Before anything else, what's up with all the lashings against He Said She Said by CHVRCHES? I'm confused. I've noticed the same in others Best Of. What's the backstory or wrong? Spoiler 18 hours ago, TalkThatRihanna said: I don’t know any of these again (sometimes my taste can be generic ), lemme wait for the next update again Nah, there's not a single generic taste of music, we embrace musical diversity here! 13 hours ago, Mr. Blue_Shirt said: The design looks good Be Sweet, Good Girls, Locust Laced, He Said She Said praise wow I didn't know Broods & Alt-J release music this year I feel like dicovered music & new artists this year that i forgot some of the artist that i like mess nnn I feel like i want to listen to BENEE's music. After her massive viral song last year, i didn't have any interest in her before --- Wandavision, Invincible & Squid Game (i agree with the ending) acclaim YES I haven't watched Locke & Key new season but season 1 is actually good. Also i haven't watch Only Murders In The Building but after i've seen many acclaims from the critics and award show, now i'm curious --- The Green Knight is soo good i've seen mutliple times already Thanks! Yeah the Broods and Alt-J releases were quiet and pretty much irrelevant. And what you wrote is always true. You get focused on new artists or other songs but forget to check what's up with the artists you discovered over the last few years. Locke and Key S2 is good! As I said, there's more magical elements, so I think you'll probably like it. And yeah, if you're into silly comedy, OMITB is for you. It has a mystery approach so it's not only jokes as it keeps you intrigued with cute tweists. - TGK was truly THAT film, I just wish it was shorter. 12 hours ago, McNulty said: I kinda agree with you on Succession but the last 3 episodes were serving HARD Wandavision was easily the best Marvel show this year even tho I hated the last two episodes Invincible is incredible, one of the best animation I have ever seen Only Murders In The Building was good, Steve Martin and Martin Short carried the show honestly. Midnight Mass has been on my watchlist for a while, I'll probably gonna watch it soon ----- on the movies side: Last Night In Soho & Cruella were fun, Dune is probably one of my top 3 movies this year so far I didn't like The Green Knight, I found it incredibly boring Ps: I love your banners and the amazing graphics Those two last episodes from Succession left me shooked. OMG I also kinda hated the last episode, it felt kinda cheap compared to the rest of the series. Yeah, Steve and Martin (lol) carried the entire thing. Selena was cute but she was overshadowed and didn't help that much either with that weird voice she made. Oh, totally get that TGK is boring, as I said I fell asleep lol. Thanks! 11 hours ago, Sunderland 4ever said: OMG that was my SOTY throughout the month of January. My other favorite is Un Millón by The Marias. Yeah, it kinda gives me chills tbh, amazing song. 10 hours ago, KasioKas said: Gonna check out only murders at some point.. just don't have tiiiiiiiime LOVED invincible! Soo uncensored, just full on grit. DEFINITELY check out more anmated shows, it allows a lot more action etc because it's drawn and not restricted to budgets of filimg live! Good thing is that the episodes are just half an hour so it's kinda bingable. For sure I'm gonna check more animated shows! It's true that there's no restrictions hence why I liked how violent and graphic was Invincible, ironically it felt more realistic than live action films lol. 10 hours ago, K$Ellie said: Good Girls, Cure For Me, Lucust Laced and Be Sweet are great the Benee album from last year was really cute and underrated Definitely gotta check the album, I'm just getting into her lately.
D/X Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 4 Closer to the end! 20-11 Welp, after still being confuse with the He Said She Said lashings, I think this set is not gonna have that much of unknown acts... I hope. Either way, here's another Mariah Carey gif you can use just in case: I was kinda surprise they could deliver another really good song with an interesting concept. half·alive came this year to deliver excellence, and the proof was this AMAZING first single. Oh and that choreo... Yippee Ki-Yay. The Aces took a dark turn and released their best yet. The concept underneath of being part of some sort of criminal mafia (the Alphabet mafia that is) just because of your sexual orientation in a hyper-religious state was genius and translated really well in the song. I guess Olivia is the only one that can save me from the Mariah Carey gif. That intro and outro are perfection. There was basically not a single song that could make me cry without it being attached to a memory, until Alt-J released this one. Thinking about all of the people that have lost one or several loved ones by COVID, particularly by how Newman managed to find very particular and maybe insignificant moments that when you lose someone, turn to be the moments that you miss the most (I still pretend you're only out of sight in another room smiling at your phone). Now I'm sad. Second and last appearance from Still Woozy, who was one of my best discoveries this year. These guys managed to recreate the sound and visuals straight from the 90's and I LIVE for it. I feel like this guy has been around for a long time, specially because of those Bruce Springsteen comparisons. This song gave me a lot of chills and kinda makes me sad thinking about perhaps one my standout lines from a song this year: Makes you hurt the ones who love you, Your hurt them like they're nothing As I sad in the last update, Glass Animals had an AMAZING year as they released their best songs to date. While kinda pop and dance-y, I Don't Wanna Talk still holds their unique style. This could've become a crossover hit tbh. Having heard from them since quite a long time, I NEVER expected to like this much one of their singles. Text-Friendly Version: #20. Transviolet - "Drugs In California" #19. half·alive - "What's Wrong" #18. The Aces - "801" #17. Olivia Rodrigo - "Brutal" #16. Alt-J - "Get Better" #15. Still Woozy - "Woof" #14. Nitefire - "Uptight" #13. Sam Fender - "Seventeen Going Under" #12. Glass Animals - "I Don't Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)" #11. Manchester Orchestra - "Bed Head"
D/X Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 5-1 Second list to be DONE! The film that should win Best Picture next year. With that mysterious title, I was talking about this film several days after I've seen it. Performances were on point, and Benedict should also collect his Oscar. Bronco Henry, her impact. This indie feature truly spoke to me really close to my heart as it has to be the BEST representation in a film of moving to college while being an introvert. The way this really young dude managed to achieve that feeling in the movie is impressive... except for that unnecessary epilogue. While not the best from Pixar, it was still really cute, particularly the second and third acts. And yeah, I think that this movie is a metaphor of coming out. CASE CLOSED. I wasn't expecting something from this film and it truly broke me in lots of ways. Sir Anthony Hopkins gave a MASTERCLASS in acting and in the process made me cry like a fucking baby for several minutes. There's nothing more heartbreaking than seeing someone you love so much not recognizing you. And the film portrayed that perspective in a very haunting yet depressing way. I remember almost 10 years ago when I posted the #1 movie from that year (Chronicle) and said it was a film that wasn't for everyone. And well, we have yet another sci fi film here which I'm saying the same thing. The Vast Of Night is an indie GEM for sci fi lovers and IS a homage to The Twilight Zone and The War Of The Worlds (not the Spielberg movie though). Absolutely impressive and mesmerizing what the director achieved with an indie budget. Just sci fi PERFECTION. Text-Friendly Version: #05. The Power Of The Dog #04. Shithouse #03. Luca #02. The Father #01. The Vast Of Night
TalkThatRihanna Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Brutal was one of my original favorites on SOUR As for the other picks, I fear I need to use this gif

Lazuli Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 brutal is an amazing album opener as for your question about he said she said, it wasn't very well received when it was released cuz it was rather generic and didn't seem to progress from love is dead which people did not like that much either
JGibson Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 brutal + I Don't Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance) + Bed Head + Seventeen Going Under + What's Wrong

Remmy Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 He Said She Said is good, don't listen to the haters! It did leave me underwhelmed on my first 2-3 listens though Welcomes the Pressure & Un Millón, some great bops! half•alive's 2021 singles unfortunately didn't quite connect with me except for Summerland, which is probably their best work. 801 || I would've watched Invincible if i could tolerate gore more Might watch OMITB at some point but wow Steve Martin is a legend!! || Luca was very cute, a gay 'ol time!
