mylicious Posted December 22, 2021 Author Posted December 22, 2021 (edited) After years Madison finally released her debut album. A very good debut album that deserved more recognition. It did it's thing though, Madison's fanbase keeps growing. A very good pop album for carefree moments! Elton John - someone I didn't expect one year ago to be in my top 20 of 2021. Mainly due the amazing remix of 'Cold Heart' and the help of global superstar Dua Lipa, he managed to break my top 20. Of course I gave the album a listen, I like individual remixes but as a whole the album could sound more connected. Never the less, congrats Elton! TINA TURNER - an artist that kept relevant through the decades. I am a big Tina fan and keep listening more and more to her music as the years go by. Her story is literally one for the books, her documentary of 2021 I can recommend all of you. Tina Turner, the blueprint for many, an absolut legend that hopefully keeps relevant in my personal charts too. And another legendary music act of past times that managed to come back (although to be honest, ABBA were always present due their catalog of undeniable evergreens). With 'Voyage' ABBA didn't only take the world by storm, but also managed to break my top 20 of the year with a November release. The comeback is a success, so is their music. Their story telling will always be interesting, so will their sound of past times. Here she is again, ever since 'Folklore', Taylor keeps putting out quality music and she just won't stop. Her story telling is unmatchable. Evermore is a very beautiful album, I like it just as much as Folklore. Stay tuned, there is more Taylor to come .. ;) Edited December 22, 2021 by mylicious

D/X Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 ABBA They definitely are impressive, specially the innovation and risks they are taking.

mylicious Posted January 2, 2022 Author Posted January 2, 2022 ARCADIA - 116 STREAMS Lana mesmerized us last fall with this beautiful ballad. Arcadia became quickly one of my most played songs of the year. I could connect with it's emotional vibe and the beautiful lyrics instantly. COLD HEART - 117 STREAMS Where wasn't this smasha this year? With it's soft addictive beat, COLD HEART was the hit that no one knew they needed this year. It put Elton back on the top of the charts and helped Dua to keep the crown of a MPG. SOLAR POWER - 120 STREAMS The sunshine pop song made it into my TOP 10. I am a sucker for a good indie-pop album with a flavor of folk in it. Lorde brought us a great album with genius lyrics and beautiful production. The laid back era was definitely a thing for me seeing how Billie and Lana both also chart high in my countdowns. Keep bringing it! MAREA (WE LOST DANCING) - 122 STREAMS I started to listen to Fred Again ... during a lockdown this past spring. With this euphoric dance song and the relatable lyrics during the pandemic, it became one of my faves this year, it also made me check out the rest of Fred's discography, now he is all over my charts. I can recommend if you need some feel good electronic dance tunes! ANGEL BABY - 126 STREAMS With the Easy Remix, eye candy Troye already made it into my top 20 of this year. When Angel Baby came out it clicked instantly with me. The 90s nostalgia of pop rock ballads kicked in. Excited what he has to bring in 2022. LIKE I USED TO - 127 STREAMS Like many others, I discovered Sharon Van Etten only this year. This indie queen has some pretty good songs that stand out and have hit potential. Like I Used To is only one of many. CHEMTRAILS OVER THE COUNTRY CLUB - 130 STREAMS This was definitely Lana's year. Charting with three albums in my top 15 plus two singles in my top 10. I became a big admirer of her art in the last couple years and the beautiful sing with Lana Del Rey is, her music never gets old, it's timeless and you'll find your right song for any emotion you feel. CAMBIA EL PASO - 171 STREAMS The surprise of the year, Jennifer Lopez made it to my top 3! Cambia El Paso was my absolute summer jam of 2021, not a day when I was in my car would go by without streaming this feel good song, I simply became hooked. NO MADAME (POLO & PAN REMIX) - 198 STREAMS If you followed my Countdown this year, you must have recognized the name 'CALYPSO ROSE'. I discovered this 81 year old island queen through a colleague this past fall. It instantly clicked with me since I was a fan of island reggae anyways. Some of her songs got remixed by upcoming DJ's and they did it in an amazing addictive way. I can recommend her discography. Calypso sings about her home country, overcoming hardships when growing up and she often sings about food. It's a joy listening to her! HAPPIER THAN EVER - 301 STREAMS Here it is, the song of my 2021. Happier Than Ever is one of the most successful songs in my personal charts in years. It's funny how I always knew Billie was there, I also liked some songs of her first era but never more. With HTE (song + album) I became a big fan of her art and her personality. She delivers a cohesive body of work that has a timeless vibe to it. I am excited what singles will get further singe treatment and can't wait for Billie's upcoming performances! Here the top 10 of 2020: 01 - Maluma - Hawaií 02 - Dua Lipa - Physical 03 - Lady Gaga - Rain On Me (feat. Ariana Grande) 04 - Big Sean - ZTFO 05 - Cardi B - WAP (feat. Megan Thee Stallion) 06 - Sada Baby - Whole Lotta Choppas (feat. Nicki Minaj) 07 - ROSALIA - TKN (feat. Travis Scott) 08 - Little Mix - Sweet Melody 09 - Saint Jhn - Gorgeous 10 - Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now
