Her feature on Nothing New was cute tho so maybe I'll get into her next era. Halsey I need to listen to ELIO! you should try her, i had the fear she'd be boring but i was not disappointed. most of her songs are slow and depressing but perfect & yes ELIO! 5 hours ago, Remmy said: Phoebe Just started relistening to her 2 albums this week. Halsey is nice, I especially like her first & latest releases. ELIO Thanks to Charli for shouting her out on Twitter last year (and a few more times since then.) Zella Day has been on my list of artists to check out, I know a song or 2 though. Tinashegrande6 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 I didn't know Charlotte Lawrence released an EP this year? That said I had Why Do You Love Me on repeat back in 2019 Yes at the Griff mentions! Earl Grey tea absolutely ruins me
smholiv Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 oooh I like the best new artist format. Phoebe is great! she's kind of divisive but I loved Punisher and Stranger in the Alps Olivia is my fave so yessss honourable mention so excited to see more from her. Elio also was fun! excited for her too
taemin Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Phoebe 2021 was 100% Halsey's year for me. I don't think I ever cared about her but IICHLIWP is just too good for me to continue ignoring her. Amazing BNA and HM x
Ewan Chaos Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Phoebe, deserved! I also prefer her sophomore album as a whole, but Funeral will never be topped and I unfortunately have a personal connection to a song like that, so it just hits even harder. Can't wait for more!
Mr. Loco Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Olivia was by much the new artist of the year, it's the biggest debut era in a long time

dreamofyou Posted December 13, 2021 Author Posted December 13, 2021 100-86 Let's get into it (yuh) Songs of the Year will feature my Top 100 songs of 2021. #100 The Art of Starting Over - Demi Lovato A cute feel good bop about starting over. #99 Wish That You Saw Me - L Devine Disco-infused bop, the spoken bridge, the relatability #98 Find My Boy - Alessia Cara Alessia honestly deserves so much more recognition. This song is cute, hence the 98 placement. #97 Lost Cause - Billie Eilish I'll admit it, I was a Lost Cause Hater, but I've grown and now it's nice! #96 hookup scene - Kacey Musgraves Beautiful & perfect, Idk what else to say. #95 enough for you - Olivia Rodrigo It seems to be one of the more unliked SOUR tracks? God knows why, it's one of the best. Never knew a 18 year old could make me so emotional. #94 there is a light - Kacey Musgraves A feel good bop, that flute is everything. So uplifting and a great penultimate track to SC given the theme. #93 Effortlessly - Madison Beer As a depressed bitch myself, it's sad and relatable, so we luv xx #92 Sabotage - Bebe Rexha Again, #mentallyill and #relatable #91 Yosemite - Lana Del Rey I was desperate for this song in 2017, and we finally got it. Originally I was very disappointed and it was not worth the wait. But it's a grower, the vibes are immaculate now. #90 Future Starts Now - Kim Petras Kim is really about to serve this era right? The only complaint I have is the outro is a bit grating sometimes. #89 Bye Bye Baby (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift Fearless' vault tracks were very mixed for me, but this is one of my faves. So simple but effective. Love it. #88 Default - Madison Beer Deserved to be longer, it would be so much higher if it wasn't an interlude. #87 Easy on Me - Adele The comeback single for Ms Adkins, was it worth the wait? I guess? It's a good song, but there are better songs on the album. #86 Solar Power - Lorde The ATRL, Twitter, TikTok, universally panned comeback single by Lorde. But lemme say sumn. It's a 10/10. It's just at #86 because there are better songs on SP so lol. The vibes are immaculate, it's such a feel good song, and was just what I needed but didn't know I needed from Lorde. I guess it was a disappointment as a lead single to some, I guess she should've released Mood Ring instead. But I love this song so much (and the album).
Lazuli Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 not a 10/10 being placed at #86 but yes give solar power the praise it deserves! easy on me and last cause are cute gorls bye bye baby is the best fearless vault track
BlackoutZone Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Default and Effortlessly for sure my favs! The star-crossed picks are cute, but they would be somewhere in the bottom part of the album for me so I hope to see more Kacey later There is a light production tho >>>
TalkThatRihanna Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 TAOS and Find My Boy are great picks

TheWayWeWere Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 The Art of StartingOver is a hit that got away , one of her all time bests tbh Lost Cause is the weakest single off the album, but it’s kinda grows on me I’m in minority probably, but I don’t like those new Kim singles at all original droplets era >>>> Solar Power and EOM back to back

Only adding quick thoughts and notes below the songs. And these are not ordered just like the HM albums. Lie to Me - Alessia Cara A bop, a smasha, the moment. Need to Know - Doja Cat Skinny Dipping - Sabrina Carpenter Now, when it first got released I wasn't sure on the long ass verses. But it's a bop, what can I say, hopefully her new album is more like Singular Act I as that is superb. Get Into It (Yuh) - Doja Cat This song is always stuck in my head, but I never revisit it... Skinny Dipping is definitely an ear worm I agree, and i'm the most excited for her album! Lie to me is indeed a bop! and lovethe Doja placements! 8 hours ago, dreamofyou said: #100 The Art of Starting Over - Demi Lovato A cute feel good bop about starting over. #98 Find My Boy - Alessia Cara Alessia honestly deserves so much more recognition. I also agree re: Effortlessly and it made it on my list! Agreed that Easy is not the best first single, but vocally it's easily one of the most demanding of attention. Sabotage is the only song I liked from her album!

theblackestday Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 The Art of Starting Over is definitely the best song on that underwhelming album! Yosemite is gorgeous, we needed more of that on COCC.
