Bouncin really seems to be everyone's fav, she did that 19 hours ago, Enigmanotta said: 5 out of 5 once again! These were some of my favourite songs of the year, especially Soaked. Perched for L3 next year. Telepatia is amazing too of course. Honestly wish it was released this year since it won't be on my of my lists due to the November release date and I didn't have enough time with it to include it in my 2020 album. Ah well. Awesome Billie and Kacey picks too. Previous: I may like Take My Breath more than like half of After Hours... so I'm glad to see it have inclusion here. The Giorgio Moroder-print! How Not to Drown is a bit of an obvious pick but I'm not mad about it, totally a favorite of mine. Love Montero. HANDS ON MY NIECE SHAKING ASS AMA THOT SHIT yup! Shame Megan's singles are better than her album. Yukika's snub! I'll try to get into the other KPOP picks at another date. Not you being an OTinashaH! She's been excellent even though pretty lost sometimes, but ever since she's gone independent things just kept going better! Yeah telepatia is a bit of a sneak, cause I said Dcember - December, but it just really hit it climax this year. How Not To Drown might be an obious pick, but it's also the most standing out song and that's why we love it! Yukika snubbed for second year in a row sadly, she was top 3 last year too and not #1 She knows she is the queen tho! 14 hours ago, Modus said: So many good songs in this batch, I just listened LÉON and she has an interesting voice Tinashe getting praised HTE title track is def Billie's best song yet It's a shame Kacey album was forgotten in less than 3 weeks, it is so well written and sonically pleasing. LEON definitely worth getting into, check out You & I from her too Right? Star-crossed feels like it came and went, but it's another great record from her 9 hours ago, Mr. Blue_Shirt said: Ooh let me catch up a bit Have Mercy, One More, Easy remix, Blast Off, Take My Breath, Coloratura, How Not To Drown, CMBYN, Thot Shit, Bouncin, Telepatia, HTE (song) & star-crossed bangers after bangers! they just won't let up! Honestly Burning Bridges should've been the comeback sing because it is one of ultimate catchy pop songs she's ever released (it's very 'Stangers' vibe) + the UK will eat this up I just discovered Rochelle Jordan weeks after i finished all of my lists and she is SO GOOD Let me just cheat and include her 2021 album to my next year's list oop --- The massive acclaim for TAIL, Savage, LILAC, Weekend, YCSWU, The Feels, Lovemonth, Next Level & INSOMNIA BAD LOVE & Peaches are two of my favorite kpop male artists releases this year like, i'm so fucking surprise that SM still has ears to good demos for their artists after all these years wow Also UNNATURAL being #1 is unexpacted it's a definitely a huge step up from Butterfly last year (like how in the hell they didn't choose Pantomime as the title track the fuck?!). They serving #girlboss done right and other GGs should take notes from them, and also WJSN THE BLACK too STAN king I fully agree about Sigrid, Strangers was her biggest hit after all and Mirror feels too low key as a comeback single when BB hits the same spots Starngers did. I cheated with like 2 songs this year too so don't worry I really loved Rochelle's album too, perched to see where it lands next year! THIS THIS THIS! SM is just DEMOLISHING in demos department, they always secure next level shit (pun intended!) and I'm glad cause I love their artists. I knew it would be unexpected, but damn I love that song I think Pantomime would be a big of a too-ahead-of-its-time moment for the GP, but it's not like they are smashing anyway kii. But YES stan, I loved The Black songs too, they just keep serving 8 hours ago, Lazuli said: tilapia and happier than ever so good and star-crossed is a cute gorl too! Happier Than Ever such a step up for Billie 7 hours ago, Moonlightbae said: Soaked is so good I'm not sure if it's my fave from her but definitely expect it high on my list as well Bouncin is the ultimate banger Tinashe did it once again and 333 was really good Happier Than Ever was such a step up for Billie, I agree it is her best song. star-crossed is amazing and underrated AHH stan king I love how consistent LEON is with her quality Glad we agree on everything 5 hours ago, Sanguine said: NEXT LEVEL easily my favorite K-Pop song of the year. They ate Great choice for the #1, Insomnia and Atlantis are really good too!! Bouncin a bop Next Level truly next level, but I didn't want to make it an obvious win Glad to see some love for Atlantis, it tanked and got forgotten
BlackoutZone Posted December 18, 2021 Author Posted December 18, 2021 You really thought I'd just leave Dua in HMs! The whole Moonlight Edition is pretty shit, especially from the execution point (Un Dia? Prisoner??), but she balances the wrong out by including this previously leaked fan favorite and my personal favorite which would easily fit on the standard album. Who would have thought the forgotten Release Me hitmaker would suddenly come back with a full blown disco dance-pop craze filled project? And as good as whole Magic Still Exists is 24 Hours remains my favorite. Dua and Jessie found minorly shaking when that chorus arrived. Found out about ELIO randomly thanks to a Charger remix with Charli XCX and though it really bangs I'm glad I didn't stop at that and checked out her EP Can You Hear Me Now? It was such an easy listen, but there was something fresh and captivating about every track. Overtime I ended up being obsessed with Jackie Onassis the most and it only feels right to place it so high as I'm still not tired of it at all after dozens of listens. Always loved Adele, knew about her abilities and appreciated her emotion, vocals and songwriting a lot, but somehow I still didn't know she had THAT in her. It takes a lot of talent to pierce listener's heart with just bare vocals, recorded on one take over simple piano riffs, but thankfully Adele overflows with it. Stunning song, insane vocalist. Unlike miss Lipa, Jessie understood the assignment of preparing a flawless reissue of her 2020 masterpiece What's Your Pleasure adding both best of the best from the vaulted demos as well as newly recorded material. Jessie noted that Eyes Closed was a song she actually recorded with her next album in mind, but it ended up on WYP Deluxe, cause she couldn't wait to put it out. I don't fucking blame her, this is so fucking hot my headphones are steaming. Trusting her word and hoping this delicious tune is an indication of her next project!

Enigmanotta Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Another 5 out of 5 today, you're on a roll! I knew you couldn't leave Dua behind in the HMs... At least it's That Kind Of Woman, her second best song after Physical. Jackie Onassis truly is a SOTY contender and against all odds, it stood the test of time; too bad 24 Hours can't relate! I would've personally chosen My Little Love over To Be Loved, but it's a career highlight nevertheless, so I understand. Eyes Closed is simply gorgeous, as the entirery of the PPE.
Remmy Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Soaked is the best song of the... era(?) so far, not necessarily in love with it though. Bouncin ayyy Happier Than Ever and star-crossed, really great title tracks!! We need Billie to rise up and become a rock princess for the next album. To Be Loved Eyes Closed mmm such a jam. That Kind of Woman + Jackie Onassis oh BABY!!!
D/X Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 LOL at the Agnes write-up. Release Me was a BOP. Perhaps a cult classic now. 24 hours was kinda surprising, I must say though.

BlackoutZone Posted December 19, 2021 Author Posted December 19, 2021 Even I didn't expect a random album re-issue bonus track to end up in my top 10 of the year, but here we are. It's easily one of Allie's best songs in every aspect, it feels like a sequel to Fresh Laundry which was already on of my all time favorites from her. At some point in life we're all moving out and moving on, but sometimes in the dark of the night while dealing with our struggles we'll always miss the warmth of motherlove... That song really captures it so beautifully. This collab could not go wrong. 2 disco divas in a song carefully crafted by What's Your Pleasure team. It's sparkling, it's catchy, it's fun, it's a bit cheeky, but it's full of grace! I love their voices together, I love the production and on a side note I absolutely love the music video and it highly elevated the song from me even though I loved it from the start. This was probably the most difficult pick on my list as I knew Wolf Alice fully deserve a high spot, but I struggled to choose the right song. Blue Weekend is definitely an AOTY or at very least top 3 on my list, it has no skips, every song is essential, stunning body of work. I ended up with Lipstick On The Glass, cause it hit me the most on my first listen, but overall this spot takes at least half of the tracklist - especially Delicious Things, Safe From Heartbreak, How Can I Make It OK? or The Last Man on Earth. A similar case to Wolf Alice - absolutely amazing record that exceeded all my expectations, but this time I'm very positive with my stand out pick. I listened to some Magdalena Bay stuff before, but everything always felt a bit too amateurish/demoish. Mercurial World fixes this problem. The album is perfectly crafted, cohesive and fun to go through completely. You Lose! was a strong contender for this spot too, but sax solo in Secrets' outro stole my heart. I'm still getting emotional every time I hear this song, every time I remind myself I got to witness an ABBA comeback in my lifetime, especially after years of false promises from Benny and Björn. But this year it finally happened and I couldn't be more grateful. Even if Voyage as a whole leaves me just slightly underwhelmed and doesn't really stand on the pedestal with their previous records, this one song they rightfully picked as a lead single, captures everything I ever loved about ABBA and became an instant classic in their gorgeous discography. They haven't lost their spark.
theblackestday Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 You absolutely chose the right Blue Weekend song, she's a gospel singer and that is her field Secrets (Your Fire) is so catchy and immaculately produced. Perfect groovy pop song
