gold rush is great, one of my standouts from evermore :giraffe: champagne problems was snubbed in that write up tho!!!

Have Mercy and One More are both cute bops :flower: I found Weekend and Bad Love really basic tbh nnn

glad you're on board with aespa :clap3: Black Mamba only grew on me this year but they've gotten a lot better since anyway :jonny5:

Tail was a cute bop but aged quite quick, her stuff this year is nowhere near as good as pporappippam :katie:

Hello there finally :gaycat4: I don't think it was bad, but it was pretty long, Insane by far a fave for sure tho.

WOW second best on the mini for me, I remember reading Chuu really wanted it released when she heard the demo nn. They have to redeem themselves asap, cause I won't take another PTT.

Agree about DFTF a bit, but I really played the mini like crazy after it dropped and it was my avi for most of the year so I felt like honoring it there. It still bops tho.

They are like sister tracks, I think the final chorus of Yalla takes it for me, but Pantomime has great production.

got here a bit late but I'll keep up :gaycat4:

i hurd they're preparing a cb since all of them changed hair colors, a February release would be great :gaycat3:

This was Aespa's year and agree on being an upgrade from black mamba in about every way. Have Mercy does seem a little short but it fits the current trend I guess.

I think I like Mirror more than Burning Bridges! But both are great and a good (well hopefully) indicator of her improvement over her debut. Have Mercy is awesome.

One More  I think I forgot to give SG Lewis love on my lists even though he was kinda outside the top 50 range of albums I think sldhlshdslkhds but his album was cute too!

Posted

I loved Mirror more than BB :eli: but she made some points with these ones

Have Mercy is a bop :jamming:

Posted

mirrors kinda disappointed me but burning bridges is really where it's at!

gold rush is lowkey overrated but still amazing :clap3:

have mercy:WAP:

the way savage made everyone SWITCH on them wew

until miss yawn can snap like doja's rap verse we will not be saying that weekend is better than say so

aespa served. loved their ep

have mercy is such a banger but it did take me a listen to or two to get into.

I'm mirror > burning bridges though I can't remember the latter at all ff

Listening to Burning Bridges right now. That chorus. :katie2:

"Mirror was a cute comeback, but Burning Bridges is the real banger we needed Sigrid to deliver." YUP! This is exactly how I've felt :sats: although Mirror grew on me throughout the year. Have Mercy is a nice start for Chloe's solo career :jamming: gold rush is lovely, thank you King Antonoff! Not the closure shoutout, that song is a MISTAKE. || Weekend does sound similar to Say So indeed :gaycat3: Especially because both are listenable but they're also missing a little something.

Thanks loves as always x

Champagne Problems is good, but I kind of got over it quickly

nn I mean I get it, the Weekend is very trendy and simple, it just hits my taste buds. Bad Love was gorg tho x

BM grew on me a bit too, but they massively stepped up and they better not fuck it up!

I mean I agree, but pporappippam came out this year it would be my #1 song tbh :skull: I still stan her output af tho

Oh great to hear that! I need BBC to ask SM for demos this time, cause...

That's why I thought it needed some remix, but it works either way

Oh really? Mirror is decent, but I felt like it lacks the punch in the chorus BB has

Well glad you gave him some streams either way, he is such a cutie :biggrin2:

Exactly!

Please if you check Next Level thread I was EMBARRASSING myself by saying it's some disjointed garbage upon the release... as a reveluv I felt threatened I guess!

TAEYAWN is cute let's not, I'm just glad it's not another snoozefest from her  :fan:

Yeah I noticed swifties aren't really on board with excellent production of songs like closure or peace, a shame cause she probably won't ever explore such great sound futher...

She totally should have, maybe it would be a little European hit too

Y'all really stan Mirror, I guess it has better production, but I prefer BB melody

closure too ahead of its time for some people etc etc...

I'm not really a Doja fan so Say So was indeed missing something for me overall, but Weekend feels the spots with her sugary sweet vocals :fan:

Quite the strong k-pop update today. I love every song you selected. I expect GODMI to appear again! :gaycat4:

Their best lead and one of their best singles overall. They just keep getting better with every album, serving exactly the kind of galactic electropop bangers I need from them. Low key can't believe STINT produced this. Their another new single Heartbreak is just as amazing, a shared spot.

I feel like everyone forgot about this so quickly, but I've been playing it the whole year. Easy in its original form was already one of Troye's best, but both Kacey vocals and Mark's synth production upgraded it even more.

BAHEbQ0.png

Great rhythmic rnb album throughout, filling the void the while we wait for Kelela's comeback. Many stand outs, but Love You Good and Broken Steel stuck with me the most.

p6AjviX.png

Tik Tok really turned out to be an occasional blessing when it comes to discovering random new music. This bop has been hitting me hard and Danny elevated it as expected. His new production reminds me of good old VVVVVVV soundtrack by Souleye. Both versions are fucking great.

RUR0EAG.png

Had some expectations for this album after excellent Leave the Door Open, but the 2 follow up singles were just pleasant and the album as a whole probably has less hits than skips. However 2 album tracks are notably amazing - Blast Off and After Last Night, I'll take it.

This had potential to be top 3 of the year if it wasn't for that lazy hook. You can't sit with us ah I hate you - girl what? It's giving La Di Da's Got no time for haters. But lyrics are not what I'm here for in Kpop anyway so I let it slide and bop. Whole 1/6 is excellent, pretty much every song could take this spot. Bring on the album now.

Blows my mind how this wasn't their Korean title instead of Scientist. Excellent, super catchy feel good disco banger. What else would I want from TWICE? Their best offering since Feel Special. Also Korean version > English.

it7m6gw.png

She is truly yet to disappoint me. This song is sparkling and shimmering like YUKIKA always does best. The instrumentation is so lush, the flawless city-pop influences strike again too. Masterclass.

0Q1XicO.png

Exactly the comeback I wanted from them - both title as the whole mini. Not too noisy or overproduced, but still bombastic and catchy. Queens!  indeed.

Thank God I came across this excellent synthwavy track after completely missing out on ISLAND last year. Hope it's a beginning of something more and not just occasional droplets, cause the potential is big. Though I can't believe she contributed to the travesty that was Pain The Town..

Yep can confirm I was one of the people who forgot about Easy. It came on shuffle a couple of weeks ago and I was reminded of its excellence :jonny5:

Blast Off is a lovely album closer, wraps things up so nicely. Easy (Remix) :jamming: Don't worry, I had it on my rotation for a while! Not sure which version I prefer tbh. Broods oprah-gif-oprah.gif Yeah POMM is another serve... yup... yup || You can't sit with us really does have a lazy hook :rip: Something feels off about Abittipsy's chorus as well. Lovemonth sounds cute, I'm liking some of these city pop releases.

Easy Remix is so good, I do kinda forgot about it before BO section, but it hasn’t aged a day :jonny:

Posted (edited)

The Easy remix is beautiful, but I have to admit that it really came and went. I was disappointed by how repetitive Silk Sonic's album turned out to be and I only listened to it once, therefore I don't even remember how this one goes.

The Feels is simply horrendous in English. Thankfully, they saved it by including its Korean version on CDs, which transformed it into a bop! You can't sit with us, Lovemonth and Queendom were blessings this year. I haven't heard Abittipsy yet, I need to check it out. Perched for the remaining top 5! :gaycat4:

I’ve had the Easy Remix on RIHpeat as well. Both the original and remix are perfect :jonny:

Just listened to The Taeyeon song and it’s literally Say So 2.0, I stan! Lemme add it to my playlist :santa:
