Bells In Santa Fe is so good :jonny2: also Wild Side still slays, hope she finally drops the album next year

Posted

the correct Loosa sing :fan:

I actually enjoy the Halsey record quite a bit rn, too bad I was sleeping on it for months. I appreciate her growth as an artist, ever since Manic I thought she has it in her.

Probably should be getting into Sometimes I Might Be Introvert

Posted

Perfect Halsey pick and it deserves the recognition, gorgeous song

Wild Side is SO good, wish they never cut off the bridge cause it's the best part basically

I get the ArchAndroid comparison for Introvert! Both epic monumental moments in music

not v familiar with these songs. i had summer's album in my playlist but never got around to listening to it :gaycat6:

Under My Skin is definition of a grower, I can't stop listening since the release :jonny6:

Normani drops something once a solar eclipse at this point, but at least once it comes it's a stellar offering. Hope this sets the tone for her album if it's to ever exist. Hate Cardi and her annoying vocals, but her verse was great here.

Still haven;t listened to Summer Walker yet:devil:

Wild side is a bop but you're right I don't use Cardi's verse or vocal lol

bells in santa fe was such a disappointment in full after the trailer snippet me thinks

but at least halsey is on the list:clap3:

Bells is nice but I feel like it doesn't go THERE and then just ends nnnn Insane was my fave from her album which I thought was meh overall :oh:

Wild Side bops a bit but I like the first half a lot more than the second, hope she puts out another cute single in a few months sjdjfhdjs

totally agree with the Zara and Olivia comments and those are probably their best songs (from this year)

I prefer WOW (and Hula Hoop) over Be Honest but it's a good choice! hopefully they redeem themselves some what next year :giraffe:

Don't Fight The Feeling was a fad for me but still a cute bop :jamming: Better is cute and lemme check out this Up10tion song

I PANNED Don't Call Me at first but it's really good :jonny2: I agree about Yalla, not sure if I prefer it over Pantomime but both are 10s

Posted

I'm still digesting Wild Side months later, it didn't hit me at first listen

Posted

Wild Side is a bop! I didn't spend that much time with it but I enjoyed it a lot and think it's probably her best song so far. Great sample ofc :santa:

Nice kpop choices. I love We Ride, it was one of my favourite 2020 Kpop songs!

Posted

Bells in Santa Fe is such a standout track fro the album Hlsey alongside Trent and Atticus were INSANE for this :jonny5:

Also Wild Side, Introvert and even Under My Skin are just cultural reset i fear

SM always won in the end huh with songs like Better and DFTF It's time for BoA as the CEO and fully become the #girlboss :jonny5:

I also want to include We Ride to my list but it was released last year and now i'm mad at myself for not finding it sooner. Damn the rules :ace:

1st batch~ Wait I swore I commented on this, maybe an error blocked it. All of the K-Pop songs have choruses that don't hook me enough  I heard Promise in advance and didn't care for it. SEXY VILLA-AIN YESSS now that's a bop. Fallen Fruit :clap3: But I'll keep saying it: Solar Power, both the album AND song, are overhated.

2nd batch~ Thunder is my 2nd fave from BB  by now didn't do much for me, VERITE served so hard w/ Somewhere In Between and now everything afterwards is very hit or miss. YALLA sounds nice!

3rd batch~ I can NOT get into any boy groups so far nnn. Might need to get into Brave Girls next because I stumbled upon After We Ride when it dropped and it's GREAT, We Ride sounds good as well. Bells in Santa Fe :date:

Yes at more Be Honest stans

I still enjoy the Halsey album occasionally, I just feel like it could still be something more ambitious. It's her best album, but I don't feel 100% satisfied just yet.

SIMBI is pretty long, but worth getting into

Oh I forgot to mention the bridge in my write up, cause it's obviously the best version, I don't even touch the original anymore

Exactly :clap3:

Summer album is pretty long so it might be a boring listen at first. But you can check Ex for a Reason, it's a cute bop from it

Hello there finally :gaycat4: I don't think it was bad, but it was pretty long, Insane by far a fave for sure tho.

WOW second best on the mini for me, I remember reading Chuu really wanted it released when she heard the demo nn. They have to redeem themselves asap, cause I won't take another PTT.

Agree about DFTF a bit, but I really played the mini like crazy after it dropped and it was my avi for most of the year so I felt like honoring it there. It still bops tho.

They are like sister tracks, I think the final chorus of Yalla takes it for me, but Pantomime has great production.

By far best best song so far, not that she has many of them lmao.

Taste! Wish I knew about it last year

Spill ugh I thought it would be heavily underrated, glad to see love for it

I'm such a big SM fan at this point, they always snatch best demos and concepts for their groups :alexz3: They absolutely won 2021 too

LMAO I said fuck the rules, cause Brave Girls clearly had sort of a re-debut moment this year

It's ok, I properly got into Kpop in like ~2017/2018 and only since last year I started truly enjoying boygroups material. It takes time nn, I personally recommend starting with male soloist - TAEMIN or Kai. Brave Girls had this super random career revival this year so they might be one of the new it girls :katie2:

Mirror was a cute comeback, but Burning Bridges is the real banger we needed Sigrid to deliver. Adrenaline filled pop smash with amazing melody.

34.png

I'm so lucky to have Austin as a friend and I'm so proud of him, Second Thoughts is an amazing pop song that got me hooked on throughout the year. Stream his whole new project 'The Fear of Holding On' for more excellence!

33.png

folklore's inferior sister didn't do much to me, but there were still some highlights worth noting - evermore, willow, closure and my absolute favorite gold rush, which feels like a lost folklore title track.

32.png

Ultimate ass-shaker of 2021, infectiously catchy and sexy. At first I thought it's a bit lacking and was hoping for some good rap feature to elevate it, but it quickly grew and I'm still listening to it all the time.

31.png

SG Lewis is slowly becoming my favorite pop music producer of recent times so I could not wait for his proper debut album 'times' to arrive. It turned out to be a great project with many highlights, but Nile Rodgers collab was just cherry on top of it all! Really recommend for those who enjoyed SG-touched excellence like Experience, Hallucinate or Hot n Heavy.

Everything SUNMI does is excellent and TAIL was no exception. It reminds me of her older bop 24 Hours except Tail is more sultry, love that. The b-side to this sucked a bit, thankfully it wasn't her only release this year.

14.png

I criticized and doubted them after Black Mamba dropped. Apart from amazing visuals and interesting concept I thought the song was straight up garbage. Thankfully they only got better with every release! Savage is fucking excellent (both title and mini) and I'm glad they are seeing the success they deserve. Future of K-pop! Experimental legends in the making!

13.png

I was never an IU fan, but this whole new album is very decent (apart from Celebirty, that's still trash) and the title track hits all my soft spots.

12.png

Fantastic title, great mini, fun concept. SHINee keep emanating talent. SM groups and members keep winning. This is superb.

11.png

Often called the Say So of K-pop and I see it... except it's much better! So breezy, so delicious with her voice being so sweet and delicate. Shame it's only a single, cause I'd love a whole mini like this.

Second Thoughts deserved to be higher, it's a perfect SOTY contender. :tsk:

Quite the strong k-pop update today. I love every song you selected. I expect GODMI to appear again! :gaycat4:
