Well it seems like you DON’T get it because you’re still trying to compare full new studio releases against Taylor’s re-recording, like this re-recording is a new release. enough so that you feel it is even fair to compare the latest studio efforts from titans like Ariana Grande and Drake to this 9-year old album. That’s what puts Taylor in a different league commercially. She records the se songs, slaps ‘Taylor’s Version’ at the end with some bonus tracks and it performs at that level where you literally need to reach for the biggest industry numbers to find something that can best her. No. That’s why people have to keep reminding people like you that is a re-recording.

it’s a re-recording.

These songs exist already.

it’s a re-recording.

The way they will scream "30 songs!11!1!" or "but the average of streams per track" and just don't seem to get it :toofunny3:

By this logic not even new Taylor can compete with herself… :dies:

First actual non-surprise release from Taylor since Lover, which sold more :)

Her last studio album didn’t have physicals on release which as you can see are a bulk of her units. I can guarantee her next one will have them on release day and she’ll be hitting these marks again. Anything else?

What do you mean.  Folklore and Lover sold well over this.

Second-Largest Streaming Week for an Album by a Woman: Red (Taylor’s Version) debuts with 227,000 SEA units — totaling 303.23 million on-demand streams of the album’s 30 tracks. That’s the largest streaming week of 2021 for an album by a woman, and the second-largest ever for a female artist. Among women, only the debut frame of Ariana Grande’s 2019 album Thank U, Next scored a bigger week, with 307.1 million streams for its songs in its opening frame. (Notably, Thank U, Next’s streaming sum was powered by only 12 songs on its tracklist, whereas Red [Taylor’s Version] had a whopping 30 tracks assisting its streaming total.)

Wow TUN still has the record   It was very close though

You can tell that gaga stan is extremely annoyed that she's smashing with a rerecording and hates that we keep saying it over and over

Also the way all of you are acting gagged at a major artists re-recording going number 1. As if the greatest hits albums, which are literally re-recordings, of major artists don’t sale like hot cakes all the time. :celestial2:
Not to mention they don’t have the faux activism and media hype of Taylors release, which paints her as some saint of the industry taking control of her music as if she’s some minor indie artist getting back at the big man. :bibliahh:

OT: not impressive :celestial6:

Not you saying people are mad but writing long ass posts over nothing:rip:

ot: wow impressive :clap3:

To be fair, those “some bonus tracks” totalled to like over 40 minutes of new music didn’t they? So it is kind of like a new album in some ways.

I would've loved to see more singles from TUN, such a great album and so many other songs could've been hits IMO, "Bad Idea", "Ghostin'", "Bloodline", "NASA"...

The scary thing is that she's building new legions as we speak. The more you dive into her catalogue, the more reasons you have to love her. I don't really do "fandom", but Taylor moved from outside Top 30 faves into the Top 3 over the last couple of years. I started getting into her about a year before Lover's release and her catalogue just kept growing on the more I discovered. The empire that she's building is going to keep getting bigger. She's a lot bigger right now than what she was during Lover/Folklore.

Weren't you an OTH a few years back or am I confusing you with someone else?

Teach the OTH the enlightened way please. :ihype:

This is why she needs to do real promotion to her all re-recordings

Fearless TV is an underperformance because there is no new MV, she didnt do any live performance or talk show, etc.

Life is too short to dislike Taylor :clap3: she is the best when it comes to writing about love and heartbreak. Some artists might have 1 or 2 songs that are great about love/heartbreak. Taylor has 100+ songs about it :clap3:

Can’t come up with an answer as I expected!

OT: very typical and somewhat an underperformance for an artist of her notoriety and stature :clap3:

You’re this miserable over an artist?

Honestly.... it was produced poorly in comparison to Red. I’m glad it didn’t get any promo.

How did a re-release underperform? :deadbanana4:

She was testing the waters. It exceeded expectations.
