the fact that the whole re-recording charade was laughed off on announcement (myself included), thinking it was just an empty "threat" and that she wouldn't actually do it, let alone push it this hard. and now she's here and her re-issues are outselling most of the biggest albums released this year.

Seriously, at the rate she's going, it's a real possibility she could do it again - the rerecording era is building so much general goodwill and hype, and Folklore and Evermore started the setup for that. It's insane to even think about the fact that she could do it a fifth time - and since this is a double album, it barely missed platinum eligibility first week itself!

Actually it's interesting because 5 of the Beatles' #1s are repackagings of previous releases. 

 

With the streaming era making compilations kinda irrelevant, Taylor re-releasing six of Her albums is a comparable strategy for the 2020s.

Her next opening week for a new album will be huge, I can see her doing another 1 million first week if she builds up hype and releases the right lead.
