MingYouToo Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 (edited) After checking out my fave's insane 9 year run on the H100 Top 10, I decided to research which female artists have had the most consecutive streaks of yearly appearances on the chart's Top 10. Also I just chose to research artists that are subjectlvely big on ATRL (bc it is pretty time consuming and this is just for fun) Methodology: I basically counted in rough estimations (e.g. 8 years and 9 months = 9 years) the number of years an artist has charted in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. Note that this includes songs that have stayed in the top 10 for more than a single calendar year (e.g. Ariana Grande's Side to Side feat. Nicki Minaj has been in the Hot 100 Top 10 for 2016 and 2017). (Please don't get your panties in a twist if I made a flaw in the counting this is all just for fun and its interesting to see how many girls have had long lasting hitmaking power. But also shows how often they've released music and turned out to be substantial hits). Note: This is just the Top 5 since #6 beyond (<8 years) are too plentiful. Katy Perry, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, etc. I've taken into account both lead and features. ------------- #1. Rihanna: 13 years (2005-2017) Pon de Replay to Wild Thoughts #2 Mariah Carey: 12 years (1990-2001). Vision of Love to Loverboy #3 Taylor Swift: 10 years (2008-2017): Love Story (first appeared in the Top 10 October 4, 2008) Look What You Made Me Do (last appeared in the Top 10 November 3, 2017) = 3,318 days #3 Madonna: 10 years (1989-1998): Like a Prayer (first appeared in the Top 10 April 8, 1989) Frozen (last charted in the Top 10 (May 9, 1998) = 3,318 days #4 Ariana Grande: 9 years (2013-2021): The Way to Save Your Tears #5 *Beyonce; 8 years (2003-2010): Crazy in Love to Telephone ------------- Taylor Swift and Madonna have spent the EXACT same number of days in their respective Top 10 appearances that I've decided to let them share the #3 spot *Beyonce had no charting entries as a solo artist in 2005 but had 2 Top 10 hits as a member of Destiny's Child, I will not argue with anyone who claims 'bUt iTs aS a gRoUp' we all damn well know Beyonce made DC. Aribiotch Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Ariana!!!! Whewwww. That’s how you debut and never let the foot off the gas pedal. The way she has a good chance of passing up Rihanna
simmnfierzig Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 What were the highest charting songs for Rihanna and Taylor in 2018

Blue Honeymoon Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 This is unfair to artists who peaked before the digital era, back then you needed to actually release the single physically in stores for it to be eligible to chart in the Hot 100. Nowadays, album tracks, or "surprise" promotional singles can make it easily in the Top 10 for a week with some promo.
ThirdWardBey Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Jay Z featuring Beyoncé's Bonnie & Clyde peaked at #4 in December 2002.
BtDecember Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 I can’t believe Delicate ruined Taylor’s streak Even If This Was a Movie managed to save the streak in 2011
TrieLz Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Rihanna, Mariah, Bey & Ariana streak are from debut 1 hour ago, wastedpotential said: Taylor's was Delicate at 12 and Rihanna's was Lemon at 36 Delicate was so close, her team didn’t do anything back then to keep the streak
slw84 Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Tell me you are going to create a thread about Ariana Grande without telling me you are going to create a thread about Ariana Grande. Rihanna the GOAT confirmed

They do it all the time 46 minutes ago, ThirdWardBey said: Jay Z featuring Beyoncé's Bonnie & Clyde peaked at #4 in December 2002. Now THIS you are not using merge stats to play games on point with. Give Beyonce her flowers 10 years of top 10s

hungrymuffin Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 kind of pointless cause if the artist doesnt release that year the streak will end
