Is UK the only country that automatically certifies songs? Maybe other countries should take notes (but corruption exists, wbk )

Maneater was in the top 10 biggest digital songs of 2006 so surprised it's not certified - I think it's more her label not caring about updating certifications

I mean Loose went 5x platinum in less than a year but they never bothered to update it after :deadbanana:

Another factor is the differing certification levels due to changing sales climates.

Since the label never bothered to certify the song in 2006 when 20k was Platinum (hard to reach in 2006), now the song needs to move 80k units for a retrospective Platinum certification. It’s entirely plausible that it might have crossed that mark but generally speaking that could be a reason for it not being certified.

Beyoncé is at 1,780,000.

Edit: I just realized this is only singles. :rip: regardless, are you including ringtones?

Wow. It's crazy that nothing from Dangerously In Love or the main B'Day album is certified in Canada. Interesting. Thanks for posting!

20 - Miley Cyrus 1,600,000

It's so annoying how her team couldn't care less about updating her certifications anywhere. Miley literally only has two singles from her Hollywood Records days certified here. :deadbanana2:

NOT Cardi being that high after one era.

France and Belgium changed their data provider this year, that's the reason they used in order to discontinue their single certifications :toofunny2: while the album ones are still available per label's request like before

 seems a little unfair to older acts to exclude ringtone sales as it’s essentially the same as singles sales

Jennifer Lopez - 600,000 from her flop 10's era.

Wait, why are Tug of War & Bucket showing as 20,000? It should be 40,000 for each.

The certification level for songs released between Jan 2007 till April 2010 was 20,000 for Gold & 40,000 for Platinum.

Most of them especially Katy, Taylor and Rihanna are severely undercertified. WANEGBT spent 4 weeks at #1 and it's only gold certified makes it makes sense :bibliahh:

I was born and raised here in Canada and I’m screaming at Camila, Halsey, Bebe, etc. being this high :rip:

If certifications were automatic here, Rihanna & Katy would definitely be in the Top 2. They were the biggest hitmakers here in Canada back when digital sales were at their peak in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Katy’s “Roar” sold like 72k in pure sales in its first week here in Canada (just 8k sales away from Platinum, which is 80k)
