@Element – Aaliyah – Try Again

This classic. The type of charming and sensual dancing that you'd see in romantic dance movies.

@shelven – Billie Eilish – Oxytocin

Love it when songs make me feel possessed and move to the rhythm of the dark entities. I wanna do bad things to you.

@clue - Charli XCX – Roll with Me

How does a song that I've never heard make me feel so nostalgic. This is bringing me back to my uni days when I used to go to clubs and get wasted and have a great night. A banger!

@Not Like The Movies – Chloe x Halle – Thunder

I can picture their synchronous dancing while listening to this, and a great song to vogue to. I also like how the song manages to be minimalistic and groove-tastic at the same time, while creating a dark and foggy atmosphere which is a perfect sonic representation of the lyrics.

@Drifloon - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard – Interior People

An infectious beat that is not only foot-tap inducing as you wrote, but also hip-swaying, arm-swinging, head-banging, and boob-jiggling. I just want to lit a blunt, wear a flower crown, and get lost in my room (because of 'interior people'). Also love to hear the melody of Shanghai being used at some parts.

@boys - Miley Cyrus – 4x4 (feat. Nelly)

Loving this country twist for Miley! Very catchy and impossible not to move along to. It's my least favourite Miley song compared to the 4 previous songs that you sent, but it's not a bad song by any means.

@mokitsu - Red Velvet – Pose

Very cute and one of those songs that would be sick with a good choreography. It's not my favourite Red Velvet song that you have sent, but it's still a bop and a great fit for the round.

@Opulent - Shakira – She Wolf

We love the Superbowl Halftime Show's opening song! A smash. *Lycanthropic dancing*

@Auburn - Shania Twain – That Don't Impress Me Much

Iconic! Crying. Makes me want to go to a country bar and dance with cowboys and cowgirls! Such a fun and boppy tune.

@Noah - Sufjan Stevens – Video Game

Considering Sufjan's repertoire, you have managed to find a song that fits this round. It has a compelling beat that is dance-inducing, and this is the type of song that the crowd would go wild to after he has performed his slower songs. I also picture an elegant art performance while listening to it, so good job. The theme aside, I like the synth-filled and gospel-y sounding song. Very different and 80s-yet-modern from what you have been sending. I'm ascended.

@Rence - Taylor Swift – Dancing with Our Hands Tied

This is one of my favourite songs from reputation. I love songs that give me dusk vibes and this is one of those. The verses are dreamy and the chorus explosive, but both have danceable beats.

@Tom Vercetti- Tinashe – All Hands on Deck

This is actually the Tinashe that I was introduced to and it's giving me "2 On" vibes which I love. A bop and a great fit for the round.

@luckystrike - Troye Sivan – My My My!

This song is when Troye got on my radar. It's giving sensual, dim-lit room dancing. :p Cute bop.

@PinkBox - Whitney Houston – It's Not Right, But It's Left (Mary Sumah Remix)

I feel like sending a remix is a safe route to take this round, but there's no denying that this is the danciest song in this playlist. A classic!

OVERPROTECTED'S CRITIQUES

Spoiler

Aaliyah - Try Again - Period a big classic from Miss Aaliyah, I’m having a big of a hard time imagining how I could dance to this but fortunately for you your explanation actually helped set the scene.

Billie Eilish - Oxytocin - Now this is a bop, it’s not exactly making me wanna dance though I feel like I would have to be under the influence for that.

Charli XCX - Roll with Me - Massive bop, so infectious and it makes me wanna dance in a weird way.

Chloe x Halle - Thunder - I see what you mean in your explanation but unfortunately the song just doesn’t pop off as hard as I would expect, and when it does it doesn’t last long. Also I’m not liking it much overall :(

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Interior People - I only tapped my feet cause you mentioned it! No but really this is not very danceable nor boppy. Also I’m usually a fan of their compositions and production but this one in particular felt meh.

Miley Cyrus - 4x4 - This is an unexpected choice... I don’t know if I hate it or I like it. It definitely sounds danceable though.

Red Velvet - Pose - Well you understood the assignment! I wasn’t sure about the song itself but I ended up liking it, that chorus or post-chorus was so nice.

Shakira - She Wolf - Like period...

Shania Twain - That Don't Impress Me Much - Well this version makes the most sense for the round but the country version remains superior and I will stand by that. Still a bop tho.

Sufjan Stevens - Video Game - Not checking out that video but good for her. Mixed feelings about this one...

Taylor Swift - Dancing with Our Hands Tied - Best track from reputa. Yeah I Said It.

Tinashe - All Hands on Deck - The production in this one kinda aged in a bad way but I was still bopping for the chorus yasss

Troye Sivan - My My My! - Cute little H&M bop

Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Okay (Thunderpuss Remix) - Not you citing those buzzfeed ****… Anyways this is a cute dated bop too, the last chorus snapped.

Hi, my crits are kinda pointless this round, dance/fun music is my favorite kind of music, you all succeeded for me, no elims this round!

Aaliyah - Try Again
Classic, big bop, don't even need to read your essay :heart2:

Billie Eilish - Oxytocin
An experience, hearing this for the first time I thought it was crazy and different and wanted to dance around like the cyber goths under the bridge.

Charli XCX - Roll with Me
Love this song, one of my faves from Charli, extremely danceable, a big bop :cm:

Chloe x Halle - Thunder
Was scared at first but when the beat kicks in I was swaying my hips, I can see this in a dark club, lights flashing, sexy dancing

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Interior People
Yeah this is a different kind of dancing mood, festival-y like you said. Kind of a happy hippie dancing, it's cute.

Miley Cyrus - 4x4
I thought you might send Hoedown Throwdown for this round, but I feel like this song is kind of a sister to that.

It's a big country pop bop, it's very catchy and boot stompy.

Red Velvet - Pose
Very fun bop, I bopped during the whole song tbh :jamming:

Shakira - She Wolf
Shakira at her best and it's my favorite Shakira song, sexy and dancey, the video :jonny:

Shania Twain - That Don't Impress Me Much
A classic country pop bop, when I was a kid at Skateland this song came on and people were dancing with their skates on

and this one girl fell over the side railing and chipped a tooth, fun bop tho :jamming:

Sufjan Stevens - Video Game
This is my favorite Sufjan song I've ever heard, very chill bop

Taylor Swift - Dancing with Our Hands Tied
My 2nd favorite song from reputa, very cute, middle school dance vibes

Tinashe - All Hands on Deck
All hands on DICK :heart2: love this bop, Tinsahe had a few great options for this round and this is definitely one of them

Troye Sivan - My My My!
My favorite Troye song :jonny: fun gay bop

Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Okay (Thunderpuss Remix)
Is this the best remix of all time? Possibly. :jonnycat:

Aaliyah - with the funky electro beat and some of the lyrics in the voice over, it's hard to say that doesn't fit the theme. That said.. I did not like this at all. The lyrics are just very cringy with how on the nose they are with the empowerment and it feels like they had a cool beat and just needed to put sumn relatable over it.. cause this does not feel like it fits with each other. Personally my least fav aaliyah song you sent so far but i'm fairly certain i'll be the only judge feeling this way so x

Billie Eilish - didn't like this song at first but it's a lot of fun and one of her most unique songs, without ever losing the essence of Billie. Idk if it's a song i'd dance to.. but it makes me.. want to move at least? so that's good enough. Great song anyways

Charli XCX - kinda felt like giving you a perfect score already after you were done so wrong last round, but you're making it easy for me. This is super infectious and fun and one of the most dance-able tracks this round. Lots of fun without ever feeling like a generic dance cut. Great job

Chloe X Halle - wow i will say i did not know they had this so didn't expect it either. sounds club/dance ready so the challenge is more than met. Props also for sending sumn diff for CxH than their usual sound. that said i do think this kinda felt at times too generic, but it's still somewhat enjoyable

King Gizzard - hold ON.. this is absolutely excellent???? super dance-able and def festival ready

Miley Cyrus - i mean.. i guess. This fits but I think you had other options.. that were slightly better than this. This just has not aged all that well but it fits the challenge so there's that!

Red Velvet - cute! Lots of fun and infectious moments. I'm not crazy over it, but there's nothing here that I really hate so x

Shakira - felt like you could've sent nearly any song for this round with Shakira, but happy you sent this absolute classic. Incredible song and is somehow even better now than it was all those years ago. Just a really cool and unique pop song

Shania Twain - this could be so corny too.. but it's just too much of a classic that I can't help but bop. Insanely fun song

Sufjan Stevens - sadly I did.. not connect with this really. I applaud you for sending something that does feel like it fits, esp with your artist, but this just does nothing to me. Personally not a fan

Taylor Swift - the best reputation song, END OF DISCUSSION!! absolutely excellent

Tinashe - MASSIVE classic i fear (the iggyless version only tho)

Still one of her best, we love a bop

Troye Sivan - so.. what are you gonna do after this round now that you sent his absolute best song?

Whitney Houston - would've prolly given this a really bad score, but after your write up I'm forced to give it a perfect score :weeps: I have principles after all and I do hate certain ppl!

real talk this is a song I'd go the craziest over in a club.. kinda think you met the challenge the best out of anyone..

Idk how to really describe the level of how much i felt like dancing so enjoy these crits!

Aaliyah - Try Again
I moved and I loved it. Solid choice. That’s said, it’s definitely not topping the danceability for me after listening to every song.

Billie Eilish - Oxytocin
This industrial bop!!  We have no choice but to move!

Charli XCX - Roll with Me
Is it danceable? Absolutely. Is it good? Kinda.

Chloe x Halle - Thunder
Hmm, I had to do a double-take with this song to get what you’re talking about and I’ve determined that it is indeed worthy. A great choice!

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Interior People
Congrats, you sent another slay.

Miley Cyrus - 4x4
I forgot this existed. A strong choice imo.

Red Velvet - Pose
I don’t think you could ever go wrong here. Best song so far.

Shakira - She Wolf
OOOOOOMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS

Shania Twain - That Don't Impress Me Much
Is it danceable? Absolutely. Is it good? It's decent, I guess.

Sufjan Stevens - Video Game
It’s somewhat there I guess. This song is great to me so maybe that’ll save you.

Taylor Swift - Dancing with Our Hands Tied
Thank god it’s not SIO! I think this is a nice vibe for this round

Tinashe - All Hands on Deck
Ooo I definitely like this choice. Well done.

Troye Sivan - My My My!
Thank god it’s not DTT! BOP!

Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Okay (Thunderpuss Remix)
This… is kinda the best on-theme song here but this version of the song is mid.
