Near Posted June 4, 2021 Share Posted June 4, 2021 Both did amazing, I'm sure SOUR will snatch a couple more weeks at #1 with the stability its been showing, I dont see it doing less than 100k+ for a while. But on a side note, this is why I really don't like the rule change of only counting copies once shipped, even if I understand the reasoning. If the vinyls had been counted for week #1 evermore would have debuted with 500k+ which would be a more accurate representation of its popularity at the time, now we have a random week in may doing nearly 200k which doesn't really reflect the popularity of the album now but a massive backlog of sales that only now have been shipped but well billboard decided for it so I guess we will just have to get used to the rules of the game now a kii tho if it was not olivia the lashings that would rule this site thank god most livies are swifties and couldn't be bothered over a #2 or #1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The digital sales from the digital autograph gimmick were likely barely meaningful in the end, perhaps just enough to push her over the edge, and it’s unlikely that any such sales were in any way illegitimate. This isn’t a situation like last week’s Hot 100, where there’s a formula to question that obviously gives significantly more weight to sales than is reasonable, this is just regularly sold copies of an album, a tiny proportion of which were on sale with a gimmicky cover. No bundles, no scams, no tricks, just a sale and a cheesy PNG set. Unless you’re just hoping that Billboard simply reports more copies sold for Olivia than HDD did due to data source differences, I’d argue it would be significantly more damaging to their credibility to fail to accurately report Taylor’s sales.
