They just have a huge and organized fanbase, no VPNs, no bots and those funds will go to US armys only and none of them will buy more than 4 orders so, no fraudelent methods here. Poor Dua, though. I wish she had smarter fans who aren't so obsessed with BTS

Ivan_brit Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Billboard Can Really choke on a dick!! They Really hate Dua!!! Change radio & remove 4K sales!! FU BILLBOARD!!!

I'll take that, but why increase radio? She would've been #1 if radio hadn't been increased. It's transparent. But anyway, already unfollowed them and anything related to them is muted on every single one of my socials. They'll stay corrupt just like they ****ed Britney over with Blackout.
Devin Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Are people really upset about this? #2 on BBH100 is still amazing and the better song won. She still has a shot to go #1 again.

Aribiotch Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 “Who’s listening to leave the door open?” Again, not everyone lives in the little pop bubble yall create in your heads as the only good music out there. I hear leave the door open everytime I step out lol, I swear the downplaying and discrediting of songs on this site because it isn’t pop is so aggravating. Expand your palette.

Even less likely. She had to get carried to the top 2 by DaBaby, and it's hard to see her getting a bigger hit than this one.

This is so unfair, she deserved to go #1 after releasing an amazing album and having a great era. And can someone please explain to me how website sales are fraudulent? If fans are willing to LEGALLY buy extra copies on an artist’s website, then what’s the problem? Dua was robbed omg Because fans buying 70 copies each DOES NOT represent popularity nor music consumption. All it represent is how wealthy and passionate your fanbase is. Her fans are not going to be listening to all 70 copies they each bought. Billboard is a popularity chart, not a revenue chart. OT: Dua needs to stop with the payola and the chart manipulation. This should teach her a lesson because this is not it.
SmashingMiley Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 This has got to be one of the biggest robs in history of the chart. Regardless of the legitimacy of fraudbillboard ‘s decision, which i dont doubt, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for this to happen when everybody and their mother was SURE that Dua would get the #1. The worst part is that it doesn’t guarantee BoTS won’t get other fraudulent #1s after this Even if Levitating was unfortunately ironically the sacrifice pawn. #Justice4Dua

They have not disclosed what “anomalies” they detected in their audit. Fans are well aware of this rule and have been for years now, hence coordinated efforts by BTS fans to circumvent the rule during Dynamite’s chart run, for example - it’s highly unlikely that a high enough volume of fans would have broken that threshold for 4,000 copies to be removed. Until they clarify (and they won’t) it’s impossible to know whether it’s this, foreign individuals using a VPN, a mix, or something else altogether. Regardless, if Billboard doesn’t apply the same standard of scrutiny to coming releases that are sure to see coordinated efforts to reach the top of the charts, they will have lost all credibility for the Hot 100. But they do though...which is what I’m trying to tell you. Based on my own first hand knowledge with the artists I have worked with, this audit is VERY common. It happens every week, but is a more drawn out process when labels contest the audit (which is likely what Warner did, considering how close it was). Sales are almost always thrown out if: 1) there is bulk buying that didn’t follow the rules, or 2) miscount of some sort on Nielsen’s part (rarely ever happens), or 3) they can’t verify sales of their party vendor (D2C/artist store). There’s no conspiracy. This literally happens every week, it’s just that labels/artists don’t contest it every week. Lol. FYI...I also used to intern at Billboard too and had to help with chart auditing (for smaller charts, obviously lol). But it’s a whole ass production every week to pull it off.

If fans are willing to LEGALLY buy extra copies on an artist’s website, then what’s the problem? Dua was robbed omg charts are supposed to reflect what's popular among population at large. if fans buy their regular copies, that's fine, it's factored in into that popularity. but if fans buy 4 copies each (the maximum that is allowed), week after week (like it was in BTS case) to bypass measures installed to have a clear view of popularity then it completely distorts the reality of what is actually popular. digital sales are the easiest to manipulate because they are dead across the board, so even a few thousand copies can have a sizeable effect on the chart by causing a spike and contributing large amount of chart points. so the #1 song in the country ends up being one which is only popular among a small group of people (the die hard BTS fans) and not what is popular among the population at large. to sum it up, website sales aren't fraudulent by nature, but they have been consistently used to unfairly manipulate charts in the past year or two. they should have been banned long ago.
