Because of bulk buying.  Fans need to be aware that if your using the same credit card or mailing address, they’re going to throw out the sales lol.

It’s not based on transaction, it’s based on household/mailing address/credit card.

There’s no confirmation that this is what they removed. They have not disclosed what “anomalies” they detected in their audit. Fans are well aware of this rule and have been for years now, hence coordinated efforts by BTS fans to circumvent the rule during Dynamite’s chart run, for example - it’s highly unlikely that a high enough volume of fans would have broken that threshold for 4,000 copies to be removed. Until they clarify (and they won’t) it’s impossible to know whether it’s this, foreign individuals using a VPN, a mix, or something else altogether.

Regardless, if Billboard doesn’t apply the same standard of scrutiny to coming releases that are sure to see coordinated efforts to reach the top of the charts, they will have lost all credibility for the Hot 100.

According to B(o)TS Twitter stans, they never use VPN:doc: I still have hope the evil will be defeated next week though

I mean... they def. will have a radio deal and the streams will be huge. They will also have a sizeable amount of actual sales. They will chart quite high, but will they go #1? Either way, BTS fans will scream about xenophobia and racism lol.

Oh I forgot about the radio. What if Billboard will fix it removing "payola"? :ahh:

I am disgusted.

We must rage war against the straights to avenge this.

I can see Billboard  removing most of streams either :dies:

Billboard always removed VPN streams and Spam streams. So those 1.8M streams were organic I fear:mandown:

This doesn’t make sense as it’s what kept BTS Dynamite Top 10 for weeks.

Billboard changes rules all the time...even if they didn't do it in the past, it'd be really good for them to start cracking down on international mass buying/streaming. It's just unfortunate for Dua that they started now. Of course it's a completely different story if they don't do the same for BTS next next week :rip:

BTS stans seem to be smart and organized. They'll find another way to cheat the system.

What was the issue? Were fans using VPN or was it the mass buying parties?

Yes, audience impressions are larger than initially estimated. (Nielsen's calibration is constantly changing)

Duas mafia should do a better job next time at buying copies:doc: 4K were filtered??

if they don't do anything about BTS next week... :rip:

i'm sorry but while it is important to penalize the girls that are playing around with the system, this particular move feels calculated. dua may have had all of those singles and remixes and discounts but she also has the promo to back it up :deadbanana:

I don't disagree with sales being filtered, but you can't retroactively change the rules and alter the playing field. This is abuse of power. Throughout the tracking week, website sales were perfectly fine and eligible, and several other artists had used them in previous weeks, so Dua's team had no reason to assume they would no longer count. If they knew, they would have tried to boost the song a different way. The points were so close that it would have been feasible. They literally robbed her and her team of a #1 and there need to be consequences (orquestra version)

Literally this.

This is a whole mess, hate them so much :rip: Dua was truly robbed now

I respect BB but I do agree with this if the same standard isn't held to BTS, because the only reason they would look the other way would be to keep from being attacked by their fans or to avoid accusations of xenophobia.

Maybe if her name was Una Lipa maybe she'd get that #1 :michael:
