It's possible but we have to wait for predictions for the following week. It's going to be super close for That's What I Like and Despacito I feel
ARTPØP Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Is there any chance for "Say You Won't Let Go" to go top 10 for at least a week or two in the next coming weeks? It's doing well in airplay, sales and Pandora streams. It's only lacking in Spotify and other streaming services. I don't want it to become this year's "Burn" (#13 peak on Hot 100, while top 5 on radio)

Charts feel so dead to me, the hit music doesn't excite me at all Well, I'm considered "weird" by many of my friends for the fact I still listen to Active Rock instead of Classic Rock. Personally, I can't understand why people want to hear the same 25+ year old songs over and over again. Then again, since I write about Active Rock, Alternative, AAA, and Country, I have to stay on top of what's current to know which songs I am writing about. Still, I preferred to keep up to date, even before I began writing about the formats.

This has caused the charts to be a mishmash of songs that most people don't know. I have been through a number of these periods, but this one is quite bad. Most people just can't relate to most songs on the charts. Especially the general public. * terrible/bad is defining time period, not music quality. As I know someone will jump on that. Yeah, and prematurely forcing songs into recurrency to inflate the peaks of the lesser known songs doesn't help matters either.

Can be more easily manipulated than sales cuz u actually have to spend money. It's funny and weird how much I used to love the charts but it's been like almost a year since I hardly ever check anything not even airplay charts or anything. I come once in a while to see where some songs are ATM but and some songs are that peaking really high I'm like wtf where did this come from this doesn't even sound like a hit. Think about how this sounds omg she sold 700k in first week compared to omg she has xxxx amount of streams Edited May 7, 2017 by Superbitch

Swifties will just add jabs in for good measure and throw the rock and hide their hands but assist monsters in going completely HAM. I'm here for her debuting at 69 for the kiis not N/A for the kiis. that would be dreadful

Think about how this sounds omg she sold 700k in first week compared to omg she has xxxx amount of streams This is why I wish BB only counted ODS toward the Hot 100, and/or set a minimum airplay threshold for songs to chart. Maybe BB could implement a policy saying songs must appear on at least one genre's airplay chart to be eligible for the Hot 100. This is a lower minimum level than the 5 M audience I suggested a couple of weeks ago.

At this rate we may have up to 15 #1's this year which means the charts are moving faster than ever. 1. Starboy 2. Black Beatles 3. Bad and Boujee 4. Shape of You 5. Humble. 6. That's What I Like 7. I'm the One 8. Despacito The #1's last year: 1. Hello 2. Sorry 3. Love Yourself 4. Pillowtalk 5. Work 6. Panda 7. One Dance 8. Can't Stop the Feeling! 9. Cheap Thrills 10. Closer 11. Black Beatles Plus with Miley & Selena coming we have more #1's coming too. Selena isn't getting a #1.

You look like a Charts freak, too. Cool, a very interesting point. I think regardless of the emergence of the hits currently, it just reflects how the trend is changing between the public. Maybe they get tired fast. Again, these Hip-Hop tracks are the definition of that. It's just a "moment" thing. 5 hours ago, J-boy said: Bieber is in top 3..youre not excited for him? :o I'm excited every time he gets shirtless, I'm not going to lie. But I'm disappointed, he's not releasing good material, just catchy basic songs. But I'm happy for him, you can't deny how he is one of the biggest artists of the past 3 years (even of the decade). 2 hours ago, Superbitch said: I think anyone can get a #1 nowadays because streaming has made it so easy for some artists. We have to adapt to the new platforms and deal this is the new thing and it's here to stay. Still the music right now (not caring about hit music) is mediocre :( 3 hours ago, brianc33616 said: Well, I'm considered "weird" by many of my friends for the fact I still listen to Active Rock instead of Classic Rock.
