Green Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Mask Off's video was released today. Maybe it will reach a new peak next week.

It went top 10 on itunes and the mv premiered before the tracking period ended. Weekly spotify chart #50 First Time #57 Bon Appetit #112 Thunder And BA is the only one of the 3 that has airplay Edited May 6, 2017 by simmnfierzig

Green Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 For the current tracking week (that started yesterday) Despacito will have bigger sales and streaming than I'm the One and the airplay will be around the same. Will Despacito reach #1 or will That's What I Like return to #1? I think I'm the One will fall to #2 or #3

Despacito is getting double the streams on Spotify and almost double in sales compared to TWIL. I believe Despacito is getting more YouTube views as well but I'm not sure exactly how much more. I wonder if that will be enough to fill in the airplay gap. Edited May 6, 2017 by PurrKaty

Planet Mars Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Crazy to think that we'll be at 8 #1's already this year in a couple weeks
Jred Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 TWIL is so burned out now, I'm ready for "Versace" 45 Castle On The Hill (+2) Hope this picks up a bit, I want it to be a nice little hit for him even though it already peaked at #6
Capruni Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I think for this tracking week, after I'm the One debuts at #1, it will be a battle between Despacito and That's What I Like to top hot 100, That's What I Like has a huge airplay, but Despacito is still growing in all metrics, so i think Despacito will get it...
QueenofCopyPaste Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 @simmnfierzig any estimations for the #1 next week? Will Thats What I Like return to #1? Or Despacito could challenge it?
FanOfPop Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I wonder if "Heavy" can at least crack top 50. With the long running discount it should be less problematic.
TSLGNMA Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Somebody That I Used to Know vs. That's What I Like We Are Young vs. Shape of You Payphone vs. HUMBLE. Call Me Maybe vs. Despacito Wild Ones vs. Mask Off Glad You Came vs. Something Just Like This Starships vs. DNA. Boyfriend vs. iSpy What Makes You Beautiful vs. XO TOUR Llif3 Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) vs. It Ain't Me

For 99% of songs it wouldn't make a difference at all for the charts. For example, most songs peak in the charts well after 2 months. With the hits this year Black Beatles, Bad And Boujee, Despacito, That's What I Like, etc. the day of the week they were released would have made no significant difference imo. Probably the only difference it makes is with songs that debut at #1 or would have a chance at debuting there, as a few lost points could make all the difference. Or songs that will peak in their first week then free-fall, in which case they really need to make the most of their debut week to get the highest peak possible, but those songs are rare (and you also don't usually know they'll behave like that before they're released). EDIT: I shouldn't have say "no difference at all", but "no significant difference". A song like Cheap Thrills or Don't Let Me Down might have debuted 10 places lower or something, but their overall chart performance would be basically the same. Edited May 6, 2017 by Tsuko
