It's the 4th most played song on that format currently. It's becoming impossible to avoid it on those stations. It's even gaining the most spins and audience everyday It's also #8 on Rhythmic stations with the second highest spin increase and highest audience increase today. And it just started charting on Pop radio a few days ago. Anyways I'm so pumped to see Bieber with 2 top 3 songs next week and a #1 debut I listen to Puerto Rico so maybe that's why I haven't listened to it yet. If you'd like to look them up they're on 94.7 (FM) Puerto Rico.

Rentboy Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) Bieber is a big reason for sure. But lets not act like theyre his solo efforts. They have other big factors helping them along. One is a catchy global smash song already. The other song has 4 other big artists on it! Its a combined effort and you can argue about the percentage effort. Take Bieber off both they would still be hits of some kind Im sure. He just gives them that extra turbo boost with his fanbase and media attention. ATRL always does this where you just credit your fave artist for a collab song. You ignored Mark ronson on Uptown funk when he's the lead artist and started the whole concept. fridayteenage Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 well dj khaled, quavo, chance, and wayne haven't been churning out the smashes of late, which is why people are giving the one who has the lion's share of the credit.

Nobody is saying the songs would flop to oblivion and be nothing without Bieber, but it's pretty obvious that neither would go #1 without his input. Like that's pretty clear. Likewise Uptown Funk would very unlikely have been a WW smash with Mark himself singing the song.

There's no need to argue percentage effort.

Idk about anyone else, but I can't imagine many straight guys bopping to this, which makes me even more convinced it's because of him. The other features are a factor, but Justin is likely the biggest contributor as indicated by his string of hits + sales vs. theirs. I wasn't sure about this at first either. In fact, I didn't even listen at first because I hate Khaled's music. I can't tell if it's smashing because the song is actually good, or if it's Bieber, or if Justin Bieber made it a good song. There's probably a dozen reasons why every song is successful. I don't understand how people can think there's just ONE reason that a hit song is successful, it doesn't make any sense. It's like thinking Love Yourself was ONLY successful because it was written by Ed Sheeran, or that Work was ONLY successful because it featured Drake, or that Black Beatles was ONLY successful because of the Mannequin challenge, or that Can't Stop The Feeling was ONLY successful because of the movie it was in, etc. It doesn't make any sense. I do think it's genuinely stupid to think this. There's some nuance in the world. There's multiple factors that make any song successful.
