Bethenny Frankel Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 it's fine, this was a top 10 hit in a lot of europe so good for her. now stream her song with troye!

Yea and Trevor Daniel also flopped with his follow up too and we haven’t heard from him since. I already heard rubberband and slower from her and neither have done anything so looks like she also will follow in his footsteps. I don’t get why there’s all this payola for one hit wonders. I mean at least use it for artists like doja cat, maroon 5, and ones that actually have meaningful careers. Why invest so much into artists they already know aren’t ever going to be more and especially ones with no talent and let’s face it I like Tate and Trevor, but both are auto tuned, generic, replicas of billie eilish and blackbear.

I can name some "Organic moves" Billie had in this last 3 years like this year Winning Record Of The Year with EIW .... sis what that **** was that. Anyway Im ready for BE2 Im exited what she is doing next!

GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Can we talk about the mortifyingly low audience numbers for radio at the moment, @Ger-55? 65M AI (Mediabase) for a Pop radio #1, and that total is even lower through BDS. I don’t think I’ve seen such a low total for a Pop radio #1 since the early 2000’s (pre-2007), at least. Radio is moving so slow these days that songs, of which should have died eons ago, are still charting for dear life ie. “BL”.

Absolutely, I honestly believe 62.8 million audience impressions reached by "drivers license" last week was an all-century low. People complain a lot about how big radio's influence is, yet the numbers are truly low, but I guess it makes sense. Radio current state is quite concerning, I just don't know anymore what's going on with them. They have made a lot of random choices lately. First of all, yeah Covid definetely impacted the turnover, but they're constantly taking too long, it's just ridiculous, I've never seen Pop radio being slower than this, it's ridiculously annoying. Pop radio, specifically, is all over the place and that's very obvious to tell just watching the numbers. Sure, radio audience has dropped overall, and that's being reflected on the re-calibration they're constantly doing, but also I can't blame people, it's radio stations' fault if people don't want to listen to them. My big problem is that they don't seem to have any metric to rely on to choose what song to play, and it's just looks fishy to me, there's obvious payola or late minute push happening too often. I remember years ago, callouts could determine what radio programmers were going to play more/less. I know callouts can be outdated for some (I still believe it's a great tool to see what's going with audience having in mind radio audience can be very different from streaming one), but it's not like they're paying huge attention to Spotify, iTunes or Shazam. It's still very random how TIA and PYRO did so well. Numbers are also very low because they don't know what to choose, that's my feeling. So for example while "you broke me first" is #1 on the chart, only 3 stations out of the Top 10 biggest stations have it on Power, that's quite low for a chart topper. You look at their playlists, and they're very different from each other.

Tate’s collab with Troye is impacting Pop this week so you never know. I think she has potential although Olivia probably threw a huge wrench in her teams plans.

He’s also a one hit wonder still, so it be amazing to make them both a hit from this. I can’t believe easy never took off even with the remix. I really thought it had a chance to at least make the top 40 mainstream chart.
skankle Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 US Radio is soooooooooo slow it's excruciating. This song was a thing like 6 months ago.
drivers license Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 took so long... but we love gen-z domination is it true covid is the reason that's affecting radio? i mean it makes sense that there would be less audience. but i feel like it's been slow. i guess it's just dying
