Timber
This is is a countdown thread starting with the top 100. I used the UWC to create a simple inverse points system where I look at their Year End chart since 1999 and designate a point based on their positions. The formula is simply as follows #1 = 40 pts #2 = 39 pts #3 = 38 pts etc The reason why I started at 1999 is because their Year End Charts prior to that only contain 20 spots rather than 40. I was very lenient on credits as I don't want it to be a big deal. Basically if an artist sings on a song they get credit (features, bands, remixes, etc) The bottom 61 are mostly not that relevant in terms of global hit-making. 102) Demi Lovato (24 pts) #17 Solo (2018) 102) Estelle (24 pts) #17 American Boy (2008) 102) Hillary Scott (24 pts) #17 Need You Now (2010) 102) Sonia Clarke (24 pts) #17 It Feels So Good (2000) 106) Nicole Kidman (23 pts) #18 Somethin Stupid (2002) 106) Olivia Longott (23 pts) #18 Candy SHop (2005) 108) Alessia Cara (21 pts) #20 Stay (2017) 108) Eve (21 pts) #20 Rich Girl (2005) 108) Icona Pop (21 pts) #20 I Love It (2013) 108) Lilly Wood (21 pts) #20 Prayer In C (2014) 112) JoJo (20 pts) #21 Leave (2004) 112) Cobbie Callait (20 pts) #31 Bubbly (2008) #31 Bubbly (2007) 112) Kylie Auldist and Mel Sugar (20 pts) #21 This Girl (2016) 116) Kelis (19 pts) #27 Trick Me (2004) #36 Mil Shake (2004) 116) Jess Glyne (19 points) #22 These Days (2018) 118) Idina Menzel (18 pts) #23 Let It Go (2014) 119) Karol G (17 pts) #24 Tusa (2020) 119) Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, Nicole Appleton and Natalie Appleton (17 pts) #24 Pure Shores 119) Debbie Harry (17 pts) #24 Maria (1999) 125) Alexandra Stan (15 pts) #26 Mr. Saxobeat (2011) 125) Emma Bunton, Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham (15 pts) #26 Goodbye (1999) 130) Liz McClamen, Natasha Hamilton, Jenny Frost (14 pts) #38 The Tide Is High (2002) #30 Whole Again (2001) 133) Ciara (13 pts) #28 1,2 Step (2005) 133) Missy Elliot (13 pts) #28 1,2 Step (2005) 133) Lizzo (13 pts) #28 Truth Hurts (2019) 133) Rachel Patterson (13 pts) #28 Fight Song (2015) 133) Tove Lo (13 pts) #28 Habits (2014) 138) Jamelia (12 pts) #29 Superstar (2004) 139) Rita Ora (11 pts) #30 Black Widow (2014) 139) Olivia O’Brien (11 pts) #30 I Hate U, I Love U (2016) 141) Kaleena Harper (10 pts) #31 Coming Home (2011) 142) Dev (9 pts) #32 Like A G-6 (2010) 142) Natasha Bedingfield (9 pts) #32 These Words (2004) 144) Julia Michaels (8 pts) #33 Issues (2017) 144) Macy Gray (8 pts) #33 I Try (2000) 146) Sophie Ellies Bexter (6 pts) #35 Murder On The Dancefloor (2002) 146) Gabriella Cilmi (6 pts) #35 Sweet About Me (2008) 148) SZA (5 pts) #36 What Lovers Do (2017) 148) Ashanti (5 pts) #36 Foolish (2002) 148) Natalie Horler (5 pts) #36 Evacuate The Dance Floor (2009) 151) Lana Del Rey (4 pts) #37 Summertime Sadness (2013) 151) Aaliyah (4 pts) #37 Try Again (2000) 151) Vika Jigulina (4 pts) #37 Stereo Love (2010) 154) Emilee (3 pts) #38 Ily (2020) 154) Cassie (3 pts) #38 Me & U (2006) 154) Jasmine Thomson (3 pts) #38 Ain’t Nobody (2015) 157) Stacie Oricco (2 pts) #39 Stuck (2003) 157) Emma Bunton (2 pts) #39 What Took You So Long (2001) 157) Marie Fredriksson (2 pts) #39 Wish I Could Fly (1999) 160) Corrine Bailey Rae (1 pt) #40 Put Your Records On (2006) 160) Keisha Buchanon, Mutya Buena, Heidi Range (1 pt) #40 Round Round (2002) Edited February 1, 2021 by Timber
Timber
I was surprised Demetria's Sorry Not Sorry didn't rank in the global year end chart. I felt like it was huge in the US. Maybe not WW?
rihannabiggestfan
Natalie Horler's Everytime We Touch was robbedT. I would have thought Echame La Culpa or Sorry Not Sorry would have made it too.

Timber
There's a 7 way tie for 89th place so I'll reveal those all together. 96) Vanessa Carlton (28 pts) #13 A Thousand Miles (2002) 89) Jordin Sparks (29 pts) #12 No Air (2008) 89) LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson (29 pts) #29 Say My Name (2000) 89) Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregi (29 pts) #12 Work From Home (2016) 89) Emilia (29 pts) #12 Big Big World (1999) edit: 1st mistake I noticed. LeToya and LaTavia only earned 12 pts for Say My Name, not 29. That moves their rank to #138. Edited February 1, 2021 by Timber

Brando
ATRL really abandoned custom Countdowns. They used to be really fun and popular. Glad to see you doing one. But ye, you started at the wrong time of the day. Won't get much exposure. And also you content is black font on black background. Impossible to see with dark theme. lovemehateme
Can't wait. I think even Britney's early "flops" should bring her in a good amount of points.

I’ll continue in like 12 hours. Also I wasn’t aware that it would appear that way for you. I have all the work done in a google doc so it must have messed with the coloring system when I copy it back. I‘ll make a white version under spoiler tags when we continue. 2 minutes ago, lovemehateme said: Can't wait. I think even Britney's early "flops" should bring her in a good amount of points. I was definitely surprised about how much Britney dominated early in her career.

Try choosing "automatic" font instead. It should adjust accordingly for both themes I'd imagine. Won't need to do the second version

Timber
Anyway...I'll be making a separate list to be released at the end that can be just solo stats. It was just a lot more convenient for me to count what UWC counts cuz I don't know all these songs an which of them are remixes. Next up the 80s rankings. 85) Shania Twain (30 pts) #36 I’m Gonna Getcha Good (2003) #16 That Don’t Impress Me Much (1999) 85) Toni Braxton (30 pts) #11 He Wasn’t Man Enough (2000) 85) Sara Barelles (30 pts) #11 Love Song (2008) 85) Doja Cat (30 pts) #11 Say So (2020) 83) Daya (31 pts) #10 Don’t Let Me Down (2016) 83) Marren Morris (31 pts) #10 The Middle (2018) 82) LeAnn Rimes (33 pts) #8 Can’t Fight The Moonlight 80) Lena Katina and Julia Volkova (34 pts) #7 All The Things She Said Edited February 1, 2021 by Timber
