They’re worse than Billboard when it comes to Christmas music clogging the charts :rip:

They've all dropped on Spotify now, but I can imagine people celebrated Christmas for the whole of the long weekend :dies:

Some christmas songs got more than 2 million streams on Spotify in the 25 alone (and a lot more than or almost 1 million), in the 26 some of then were still charting very high. The N.1 on Spotify right now is getting 200k streams Daily... that's why christmas songs are still so high, because with the streams from the 25 alone is enough for a lot of christmas songs to chart for the whole week and for Mariah, Wham! or Jess Glyne to be N.1.

So Little Mix would've been #1 if it wasn't for christmas? I would've been pressed af if I was them.

yes sir. i think xmas day is the absolute biggest single day streams of the whole year usually?

we also have a second bank holiday the day after Xmas on 26th which the USA doesn't have

by friday, the chart will be way more diluted though

this is just a snapshot of the actual figures so far for the first 3 days or so

And this was exact my point. They started celebrating Xmas in November and they are still going strong.

Mariah had the record breaking xmas day figures in the US too (17m+), but she'll only chart at #8 next week. But in the UK she'll be #1 from Xmas day (and Boxing Day if you wanna add that). Not to mention that the UK chart also handicaps her by 50% due to chart rule and she'll still be #1, so yea.....

The chart rule doesnt affect Mariah because she hasnt been dropping. You need to fall 3 weeks in a row before the rule affects you

BTW i see Bublé is at #1 on the album midweek so far with Taylor at #2. I'd love to know how much units each one is getting

You're thinking of a different chart rule. AIWFCIY is literally capped at 50% of its charting points, due to its age. Which is why it's struggled to hit #1 until this year. The UK has some bizarre AF charting rules.

Any song over 3 years old is hit by the rule, permanently and irreversibly regardless of dropping/rising. AIWFCIY is capped at 50%.
