Doesn't change the fact that the streaming queen highly anticipated release after her biggest era did half the stream units than taylors surprise release after her underperforming lover era, while also being outsold in pure sales by over 10times. Thank you for pointing out the reason folklore did extremely good streaming wise in the first week, aka surprise release and the hype around it. Too bad it lasted only two weeks, in fact positions started to outstream it in the third week. And you were already calling Taylor the “queen of streaming”
4Real
The fact that taylor swift puts up with ariana grande in the streaming department (and actually demolishes her when it comes to debuts) is very embarassing for the so called queen of streaming, in my opinion. Ot: congrats!

She clearly needs it given even taylor's 2019 release lover did better streaming numbers than her despite not being a surprise release!

Glamthony
Why are arinators bragging about streams when Taylor is the one that actually SELLS records? Spotify is 6 dollars a month (considering you don't belong to a family package), it's crearly that a record that makes people spent their money and buy it instead of some free or cheap streams is the winner. Folklore alone has sold more records (pure sales) than the 3 last records Ariana released. Arianators should take a sit, Taylor is on another league. Not all can afford to but music nowadays. Taylor peaked in pure sales era and built her fanbase that prefers buying music while Ariana peaked in streaming era so her fan base prefer to stream than buying them. 85% of there music industry revenue of 2020 actually came from streaming. Physical sales are only 7% of the revenue and digital 6%. Stop acting like streaming doesn't give label money when it's the one saving it from being dead. CDs cost 6 to 10 dollars, thats the cost of a couple of beers. Some people choose to spend it on music that's worth it. Anything else, can get a couple of streams. Exactly. Streaming is STILL music consumption. At the end of they day, buying and/or streaming albums BOTH mean LISTENING to music.

mypaintoyou
The fact that queen Taylor outsold Ariana at her peak omg and weren’t her little fans complaining for the flop age of positions blaming Halloween and the elections LMFAO what part of this isn’t a pop record I wish Ariana would release a surprise alternative album and see what she does plus Ariana is only on top cause of streaming without it she’s nothing
raven
the fumes in this thread and for what? some of y'all are making no sense at all both these ladies are doing well and are currently the biggest female artists in the game On 12/13/2020 at 4:24 PM, Glamthony said: Why are arinators bragging about streams when Taylor is the one that actually SELLS records? Arianators should take a sit, Taylor is on another league. cause Ariana debuted and built an audience in the streaming era and we're in 2020 where that's the main method of consumption. iTunes is a dying platform and it's mostly only artists who debuted pre-streaming that are able to move pure sales units well hence why Taylor's are so high (amongst other things). are we seriously still on this debate in 2020? get with the times sis 33 minutes ago, mypaintoyou said: The fact that queen Taylor outsold Ariana at her peak omg and weren’t her little fans complaining for the flop age of positions blaming Halloween and the elections LMFAO what part of this isn’t a pop record I wish Ariana would release a surprise alternative album and see what she does plus Ariana is only on top cause of streaming without it she’s nothing now why in the hell would Ariana release an alternative record? and of course she's gonna be on top because of streaming because AGAIN that is how literally everyone consumes music nowadays. that's like saying an artist back in 2008 was only on top because of digital sales and they would be nothing without it. make it make sense ot: happy to see these two ladies dominating in their respective lanes Edited December 14, 2020 by raven
