Reverse Warholian Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Bloody Valentine Manic too low...
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 29, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 29, 2020 Quote Love Goes is good though? Just the last few singles and a few duds in my opinion. I found the album to be either too...monotone or, when it was about to become interesting, it did not reach its full potential manic yass so underrated
Into The Void Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 On 12/16/2020 at 2:09 PM, Mr. Duff said: 88. Why Don't We - Fallin' (Adrenaline) This song is somehow the band's attempt to mimic 5 Seconds of Summer because I can totally see this song being performed by 5SOS. It's really good though, and I love these kind of songs. However, I felt like the band lost some authenticity, or maybe it's just me. I still prefer their 8 Letters sound. But hey, bands evolve so maybe good things will come from here. 87. Ellie Goulding - Power A return to form, I think Ellie releasing this song is a good idea - it still sounds mainstream but also veins in her Halcyon days. I am also impressed with the lyrics, it's just outright powerful I think. Top 30 Favorite Albums of 2020 26. Ariana Grande - Positions Ariana's latest effort is not so impressive in my opinion, but it's still a good listen from start to finish. Not many albums released this year are great (or maybe I just haven't listened to a lot) and that includes a letdown from Ariana. However, I think the album has deep gems like POV and Off the Table but the singles somehow lacked something. I still enjoy Positions (song) but 34 + 35 is crappy and a poor try to sex up her image, in my opinion. Favorite tracks: Off the Table, POV, Obvious, West Side 25. Trevor Daniel - Nicotine So Trevor's a new name this year, and he's only recognized through the Falling track which soared early this year. However, I think this man is being slept on because his album is pretty good, compared to other releases this year. He has the ability to make you interested in an uninteresting melody, because I honestly find most melodies in this album non-existent. But I learned to like them, I don't know how to explain it. Favorite tracks: Past Life, All of That, Nicotine, Disaster I love Fallin and Power Positions took a long time to grow on me

David Archuleta - Therapy Sessions I know he is a has-been (or has he even become huge?) but I really enjoy his vocals and this album is actually pretty good. Ah I love Therapy Sessions!! Keshas High Road was a hit n Miss and Treat Myself was good On 12/14/2020 at 2:55 PM, Mr. Duff said: This best of is flopping so hard like my faves Demi and Hilary Anyway, let the real countdown begin with the 100-96 singles and 30-29 albums. Top 100 Favorite Singles of 2020 100. RAC - Never Let You Go (featuring Matthew Koma and Hilary Duff) The only song from Hilary this year, barely made it to my top 100. I did enjoy this song for a while but it being a cover definitely didn't stand out much. Still, it's a blessing to hear Hilary sing and this song is truly ear-candy pop that you just can't resist it. 99. Sasha Sloan - Lie I only got into Sasha this year, but she's amazing! This is a really great pop song, but I prefer her more mellow tunes - but thank God for this song I discovered her! 98. Juice WRLD & Marshmello - Come & Go I have always liked Juice WRLD and this unusual collaboration with Marshmello is a great sign that weird collabs work. The chorus when the guitar breaks in is my favorite part. 97. JoJo - What U Need Of course JoJo always delivers! This RnB bop is just what you need in a miserable day. 96. for KING & COUNTRY - Together (featuring Kirk Franklin and Tori Kelly) I do have a religious side and this song is my go to song when I feel sad for being away from my family. I don't know, I just feel empowered listening to this. Surely this won't be the tea for most people here but I love it. The guy's voice is so good too! Top 30 Favorite Albums of 2020 30. Selena Gomez - Rare Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed when this first came out because it's so monotone and "just there". However, the deluxe had She and Feel Me which somehow increased my interest in this album and tried it again, for which I learned to like most of it. Still, Revival is amazing so I hope she gets inspiration again. This barely made my top 30 just because of the deluxe tracks. Favorite tracks: Look at Her Now, Feel Me, People You Know, Lose You to Love Me, She 29. Rhys Lewis - Things I Chose to Remember I'm sure not one of you would know or like this because he's an indie soft pop artist - but the approach he does in his songs are like James Bay meets old Ed Sheeran. maybe that's just me, but I love it. This album is really good to listen to especially when it's raining or freezing cold during winter. Favorite tracks: What If, Hold On to Happiness, Good People, No Right to Love You, When Was the Last Time? stan RARE On 12/20/2020 at 4:46 PM, Mr. Duff said: Recap: Reveal hidden contents Top 100 Singles: 100. JoJo - Good to Know Top 30 Favorite Albums of 2020 22. Kygo - Golden Hour Kygo is one of those EDM producers/DJs that I really adore even though some of his beats are too generic. With this album, I find that the songs are pretty much flowing perfectly with each other and that Kygo sound is just magic to my ears. Favorite tracks: Hurting, Lose Somebody, I'll Wait, How Would I Know 21. Justin Bieber - Changes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changes_(Justin_Bieber_album)#/media/File:Justin_Bieber_-_Changes.png By now you must have realized that I'm a big Bieber fan, so apologies for those annoyed by him. I admit that this album is not as strong as Purpose BUT despite the messy trap beats, Bieber's vocals haven't been better than this album, and that's what made me like this. Plus, I actually think the songwriting here is brilliant, even the production. It's just difficult to digest because most of the songs have the same production structure, which sucks because it could have been so much better with a little bit of diversity. Still, I enjoyed it (more so than a lot of pop albums this year). Favorite tracks: Forever, Intentions, Changes, Habitual, Get Me Top 100 Favorite Singles of 2020 80. Charlie Puth - Girlfriend Charlie unleased his "supposed-to-be" lead and it is a funky track that veins in the same root of Voicenotes. While I do enjoy his "Voicenotes" production, I think he should have continued with I Warned Myself or Cheating on You type of songs. Still, this is a big bop. 79. Ariana Grande - Positions Ariana's lead is a step back from what she released in Sweetener (and TUN, except 7 rings because that song is shite), but it's still pop candy and the vocals are just too good to ignore it. I do wish I could hear another Thank U Next, or Breathin', next time. 78. Taylor Swift - The Man The Man is such a generic bop but it's a bop from Ms. Swift that is so catchy the haters should just shut up. Plus the video is amazing. 77. Will Ferrell and My Marianne - Husavik (My Hometown) First of all, this movie is so funny you should all watch it. Demi's a mess there too, so go watch it. Also, it carries this song which is monumental to the film's climax. I love how Rachel McAdams was able to lip-sync really well because it really looks like she's the one singing! Plus the song is so special because it's an ode to a hometown, and I love how the local language of Iceloand was incorporated in the song. Respect to the songwriters and composers, it's just really beautiful. And that last note!!! 76. Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa - Prisoner This power duo is so unexpected but they made the song work! Of course Miley outsang Dua but they just blend well and the song is fire! Hope it could be a hit for them. Unlike 99% of this forum I like Changes and I love Girlfriend by Charlie.
