Ewan Chaos Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Store is a flawless #1 pick. Actually there's a lot of talent on your top list (I'm SCREAMING at Party Rock Anthem though I always think of that gif of Gaga dancing to it from 2011 for some reason when I think of that), but Store sticks out too much and I will forever be obsessed with that song, so that's my main callout here.

Bubble Tea Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Ok WOW at the taste demonstrated in that recap. Heidi Montag. Queen of pop - her "Superficial" performance still destroys other girls. "Vroom Vroom" is also better than any Dua or Taylor song too.

State of Grace. Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Easy is a bit too low for my liking but I'm perched for this Yo Perreo Sola and STFU!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Raising Hell is a bit messy, but nice to see Kesha Easy amazing song Miss a Thing ending is one of my favorite moments on Disco
Smilers Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Ariana Grande - positions Highlights: shut up, 34+35, obvious, six thirty Sweetener and TUN were two of my fave albums from 2018/2019 so while positions is good, you can still imagine why it's a tad of a disappointment. I wish the songs were fleshed out more because they're lacking the punch. Like, the bad ideas / in my heads / everytimes / REMs are missing on this album. Kacy Hill - Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again Highlights: Dinner, Porsche, Unkind, Palladium Dinner is kinda one of the best song ever but the album is a bit too samey and sloggish. But it's worth it for Dinner alone + a few other cute songs. Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA Highlights: STFU!, XS, Paradising, **** This World (interlude) I definitely don't stan for this as hard as most ATRLers but I appreciate the attempt at bringing different genres and there are some really good songs on here. Dagny - Strangers / Lovers Highlights: Coulda woulda shoulda, Tension, Moment, Somebody If you're into basic, overproduced Scandipop bangers Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia Highlights: Break My Heart, Cool, Levitating, Hallucinate Obviously it's a really good and it's aptly acclaimed by the gays and critics. But I kinda dislike Dua's voice so it gets an HM, it's gonna be topping everyone else's list anyway 25) Niall Horan - Heartbreak Weather Highlights: Bend The Rules, Black and White, Small Talk, Cross Your Mind This album is way better than Fine Line but it just gets ignored because Niall doesn’t pretend he’s the reincarnation of Bowie. It’s cohesive, carefree and fun. It's something I can scream to through a long drive. Basically an upgrade to One Direction’s schtick. 24) Magdalena Bay - A Little Rhythm and a Wicked Feeling Highlights: Stop & Go, How to Get Physical, Good Intentions, Story A bunch of well-produced pop bops with some PC influences so obviously I'm gonna have to STAN. 23) Róisín Murphy - Róisín Machine Highlights: Kingdom of Ends, We Got Together, Incapable, Murphy’s Law The songs can get a bit too long so I have to be in the mood for this. But the payoff is huge because the songs build and build and it’s pure euphoria in their final minutes. 22) Ryan Beatty - Dreaming of David Highlights: Backseat, Shimmer, Evergreen, Casino Perfect if you’re sucker for sad gay **** like me. He gave me everything I needed. The vivid and queer lyricism, the velvety vocals that tugs my heartstrings, the somber melodies, the lush productions 21) Hayley Williams - Petals For Armor Highlights: Over Yet, Crystal Clear, Simmer, Pure Love I loved After Laughter to death so I was excited for this and she did not disappoint. Just the raw and emotional songwriting I come to expect from Paramore The clear narrative that makes it so great to journey from start to finish. (and I appreciate the callback to Pool in Crystal Clear, its one of my absolute fave songs) Edited December 8, 2020 by Smilers
perpetual novice Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 There's some amazing albums in that HM list, shame they aren't higher, but ready for the rest of your list.
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 My favorites are Future Nostalgia and A Little Rhythm and a Wicked Feeling.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Oh wow at Dua being an honorable mention. Dagny's album... trash. Kacy Hill's album was EONs ahead of her last album, so I kinda stan it a little bit. Roisin and Hayley in your top album picks too ahhhhh we LOVE to see it!
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 8, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 8, 2020 namasenda was gonna put dare on my list, but wanted edged it out for me. hayley has not been appearing in enough lists for my liking.... hope thats because its in everyone's final reveals! i agree with your description of it... and im embarrassed to say but im JUST getting into paramore's older stuff now. i didn't like them before ain't it fun im glad you liked roisin's album, but its too low maam
