ikiru Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Rare was a huge miss for me claws is great and so is the music video! we love messy green screen videos! Blinding Lights bop for the ages! I'm Coming never heard the original as well so it was like a new song for me
TheWayWeWere Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 thanks for staying with me for another week, I hope y'all going to wait another few days before the end TOP 50 ALBUMS 16 Doja Cat | Hot Pink "Play with my *****, but don’t play with my emotions" I know it's a 2019 album, but I, just like.. the rest of the world, listened it first time this year. Yeah, her raise to success was mostly thanks to pop inspired Say So, and even tho it is the best track on album, Doja showcases many sides of her musical ability. Rapping, singing, doing harmonies. She's fun, can poke at herself, she loves herself - her personality shines through this album. Just like it's cover - album is bright, sexy, dreamy. I really hope she's not going to be one hit wonder. She's really likeable and that era with such an amazing run of live performances shows how talented she is. highlights: Cyber Sex, Talk Dirty, Juicy, Bottom Bitch 15 Róisín Murphy | Róisín Machine "This is the real of my wildest dream" Everyone in 2020 tries to do disco in its own genre, modern disco (Dua Lipa), pop disco (Kylie), classic 60s disco (Jessie), but Roisin did it in a way only she can - crazy, extravagant, fierce, over the top, extensive. During the lenght of her 'Machine' you feel like you're at never-ending party. Album is triumphant, mind-blowing and complicated. highlights: Shellfish Mademoiselle, Narcissus, Jealousy, Murphy's Law TOP 100 SINGLES 29 JoJo | Lonely Hearts "I'm just trynna find myself, I don't need nobody's help" JoJo deliever us this year with many bops, and Lonely Hearts is one of the sexiest and soulful tracks from Good to Know. Smooth, self-loveable, vocally incredible jam about codependency in relationships. 28 Selena Gomez | Rare "Burning toast in the toaster" As I already said, this is the best song from album, even with tragic lyric like toaster one, it sounds iconic a bit It was immediate standout to me since the first listen. It's catchy, infectious, it's like dark fairy-tale of sound. I hate GP for making this song wrong 27 The Weeknd | In Your Eyes "In your eyes I see there's something burning inside you" Even though everyone (including me) loved Blinding Lights to death, I always preffered In Your Eyes over it and wishes it had the same success. Saxophone, 80s pop sound, synths and (as a fan of horror movies) 'slasher' music video - heck, it was destined to be my favorite from album! 26 Dua Lipa | Break My Heart "I've always been the one to say the first goodbye" I still think it's the weakest single from Future Nostalgia, but welp, what a grower it was Lyrics, her jumping vocals, INXS influence - all that eventually makes this song such a good minimalistic cold bop. 25 Taylor Swift | betty "Will you kiss me on the porch in front of all your stupid friends?" It wasn't my instant favorite when I heard 'Folklore' first time, but once I listened it through the lyrics - it was never the same. It's ****ing amazing, touching, full of storytelling and hopes and nostalgic. You know, this song kinda shows me why she stays around after all this time - it's her honest storytelling in lyrics, it's her honest singing, even acting some times. Probably one of my all-time favorites from her. Only listened to I'm Coming once I think Catch Up is cute, eeeaaasily the weakest from Ungodly Hour though. Rare has some good moments. claws + Brightest Blue I Know Alone Blinding Lights Vulnerable, HDITD, Tides in your favorites yup! But some of your highlights from both are my least favorites agreed, but I kinda over listened it when album came out 17 hours ago, Green said: Blinding Lights is pop perfection. Ketchup is the only stain on Ungodly Hour 21 hours ago, BlackoutZone said: Brightest Blue is definitely a step in the right direction, but not full comeback to form, but I appreciate it! Blinding Lights an obvious choice I’m coming a great pop song 22 hours ago, Ewan Chaos said: Lemme ignore the albums section chile Yeah maybe the I'm Coming mixing is because it's a "Spotify single"? Not that that even really means anything skdjsljds. I generally liked Bikini **** more than that anyway, so. Claws, Blinding Lights, and I Know Alone Yeah, similar to People I've Been Sad, I Know Alone became one of those perfect songs that don't actually relate to quarantine but fit the zeitgeist at the time, and even now. One of my favorite songs from that album, and probably one of my favorite HAIM songs ever? I thought about it before it was released as part of album re-release everywhere and that problem is still here Mine too! 22 hours ago, Kevin2803 said: Rare & Brightest Blue are two amazing pop albums I don't remember the Tove Lo song that much, but i know what you mean with the mixing and the volume not being as loud. That is also the problem with other songs sometimes and i hate it. 22 hours ago, dweebz said: I’m coming! Chile you have TASTE!
Kevin2803 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Lonely Hearts Rare was cute for a moment Break My Heart is a bop
Blue Rose Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Roisin Machine and Hot Pink are both amazing. Hot Pink, I was obsessed with for the first 2-3 weeks it came out
Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I know all the singles once again betty was an easy instant favorite for me, it was my folklore #1 for months until august took over. Rare Lonely Hearts + Break My Heart In Your Eyes is absolutely delicious, deserved to smash alongside (or after) Blinding Lights instead of barely getting a shot at success. I still slightly prefer BL though.
BlackoutZone Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Roisin Machine amazing but you already know Rare low key the best single of standard Rare Break My Heart super underrated so Im very happy to see it here I HATE betty, but I see it's so loved here
Pink Matter Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Blinding Lights and I Know Alone And a fellow Catch Up fan! Love to see it + In Your Eyes, Break My Heart, and Roisin Machine
T.O.A.D.S. Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I think Crowded Room is the best Rare song How is BMH the weakest FN single when Hallucinate exists I'm glad to see BMH on the list
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 20, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2020 roisin machine rare betty cute
Bubble Tea Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Hot Pink had lots of bops - LOVE "Cyber Sex". Rare obvi a slay. Selena served - but lots of filler also.
ARTPØP Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 claws, i'm coming, break my heart, rare Brightest Blue
Ewan Chaos Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Roisin Machine A flawless album from the queen of my life. It was fun to listen to when it came out too because right when the album was finished and it went to the long extended mixes, I found out Trump had COVID and had an even more massive dance party LOL. In Your Eyes is good, but honestly I still prefer Blinding Lights even if it's overplayed now! But I'd say neither are my top 3 of the album. And Break my Heart and Betty are both great album picks too! Ooh and I guess both were technically singles too (Obviously BMH was but I always forget Betty is).
Post Malone Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Not Taylor's album track charting for that long Rare, BMH and IYE all bops too
Lazuli Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 the quote for rare oh wow betty tbh its my least fave from folklore break my heart and in your eyes raisin machine
