Acting like because The Slow Rush isn't a life-changing masterpiece that's it's completely irredeemable and useless, can't relate! By the time you get round to your top 10, Replay will have come full circle for you and land at #1. I can feel it in my bones. YAMM is indeed amazing. It reminds me of the music on the car radio Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Speaking of which, I'm late doing video games, my final category. Oop.
DoctorIce Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Top 5 | Video Games #5 - Watch Dogs Legion ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ Okay, here me out. It's glitchy, repetitive, performs like ass on PS4 and is generally devoid of creativity (it is Ubisoft after all). The 'play-as-anyone' mechanic wasn't that great, but Bagley is the one consistent main character who was genuinely likeable. His storyline that came full circle with the post-game mission was genuinely touching and I wish more of the game had stories like that. I did enjoy this game a lot, but there was so much unrealised potential which was a shame. This is also the only game where you can fly around London on a cargo drone though, so >>>. #4 - Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time ★★★★★★★★☆☆ Easily the best Crash game in years. It's inventive, colourful, detailed and loyal to the original trilogy (**** the other sequels). Unfortunately, that also means that a lot of the game's difficulty is derived from the warped sense of perspective due to the fixed camera. The highlighted shadow helps a bit, but I would still say that this is one of the most difficult games I've ever played. It's absolutely infuriating and I had to sell this one as I just wanted it out of my life. I did have a blast at the time though, even if I aged 10 years during my play through. #3 - Control ★★★★★★★★★☆ Yeah, it came out last year but I discovered it this summer and the DLC was released this year so, sue me. This is a very abstract set entirely inside a government facility with incredible graphics, creepy world building and some of the most fun telekinetic physics in any game. There's just something about the 'Oldest House', the empty office spaces, the suspended bodies, the Oceanview Motel, the Ashtray Maze... it's just bizarre, but I couldn't get enough of it. A sequel is an absolute must. The only reason this isn't a 10/10 is due to its performance on PS4 and a lack of enemy variety. #2 - The Last Of Us Part II ★★★★★★★★★☆ It did some characters dirty, subverted everyone's expectations [so edgy ;)] and it's about as fun as a kick to the dick, but what an experience it is. I'm not getting into spoilers or the controversy because that's another conversation entirely. The game is so confident in its ability to write dialogue and characters that it rolls the dice and kicks your empathy around like a rag doll and mostly succeeds. I came to love Abby, even more so than Ellie by the end. The gameplay didn't evolve as much as I expected but the environments, AI and world-building levelled up to the extent that it didn't matter too much. This was always a narrative franchise and you can only admire its ambition. I will replay it one day but I need a year or two to recover. #1 - Ghost Of Tsushima ★★★★★★★★★★ At first, I was pretty disappointed. The static camera took a long time to get used to, the combat system felt finicky for quite a few hours and the dead ass facial animation weren't exactly helping with the immersion, especially coming off TLOU2 which excelled in this area. Eventually I got the hang of it and by that point I was so enamoured with the beautiful world of Tsushima that I couldn't tear myself away from it. The main storyline is strong, but the real heart of the game can be found in the side missions or 'tales' focusing on Jin's allies on the island. You better believe I exhausted each and every quest before resuming with the main storyline, I don't think I've ever been so thorough with an open world game as I have with this one. Along with Horizon Zero Dawn, this is the best PS4 exclusive open world there is.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 I used to work for Ubisoft (like since May of this year nnn) so I have a bit of happiness seeing Watch Dogs Legion here Seemed like people really enjoyed AC Valhalla but I always was more interested in checking out Watch Dogs so maybe I'll pick it up. I also have that Fenyx Immortals Rising game on Switch I'll be checking out. I'm a Nintendo ***** for better or worse so I don't know too many of your top picks outside of Ubisoft nnn but I'd LOVE to play Ghosts of Tsushima some time.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 14, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 14, 2020 my sisters bf keeps on telling me to play ghosts of tsushima, but at this point, my family has hijacked my ps4 to use it for netflix, so i guess it'll have to wait for a while lmao.

Oop, didn't mean to drag you by association. I would low key remove it from the list entirely if I knew beforehand that online multiplayer would be delayed AGAIN. She should marry him. Maybe save it for the PS5, if you plan to get one eventually, it would look incredible.

Yeah that was a bit of a mess nnn Ubisoft does a lot of games as a service stuff so they try to have longer-running games so I get it but
