T.O.A.D.S. Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Hello everyone! We can now begin. Thank you for your replies TOP 20 SONGS OF 2020 [20-16] 20. Ava Max - “Kings & Queens” I must admit, I paid Miss Max ZERO attention until this year when I heard this song. The guitar solo is genius and it kinda gives me ABBA vibes. There's something really retro about it and I love it. Well done, Ava (and Redone)! 19. Zara Larsson - “All The Time” I know this song came out in 2019 BUT I didn't discover it until January this year. It's the ultimate pop song - perfect from start to finish. She sounds great, the production is on point, the theme is wholly relatable. it's the ideal length. What more could you ask for?! *Swedish excellence confirmed* 18. Meghan Trainor feat. Nicki Minaj - “Nice to Meet Ya” The definition of underrated. What an unlikely pairing but what an absolute bop. Meghan's most recent album Treat Myself was filled with cute lil songs that deserved to be hits (there's a theme here, haha!). I'm ALWAYS here for late 90s/early 00s millennium pop vibes and Megz does it so well #Justice4NØ 17. Halsey - “You should be sad” Thanks to Joanne we all LOVE country music here on ATRL. Halsey's take on the genre is so moody and fun and this was one of my first faves of the year. The lyrics sound like she's singing them straight from her secret journal. I don't know who this song is about but I'm glad I'm not him. 16. Tinashe feat. MAKJ - “Save Room For Us” Over the last 12 months I have become a Tinashe stan and this has grown to be one of her most enduring songs from her most recent album Songs For You. It's a shame it didn't break through and become the mega pop smash it deserves to be but at least we have it. Plus, the video serves Janet "I Get Lonely" vibes and I'm here for it. The next batch of songs will be posted TOMORROW Edited December 19, 2020 by T.O.A.D.S. x

Remmy Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Wow finally you got around to starting! Nice to Meet Ya is pretty cute. You should be sad + Save Room for Us ALL THE TIME yup, an absolute banger that should've been a multiweek #1
T.O.A.D.S. Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 TOP 20 SONGS OF 2020 [15-11] 15. Mariah Carey - "Open Arms" I truly think this is her second best cover after Without You... I have no idea why I became obsessed.mp3 with this song during the final months of the year (perhaps it was a result of reading her incredible memoir, or the Mariah Carey discography rate) but I'm so glad I did... 14. Kylie Minogue - "Say Something" Okay, let's be real... Kylie has released the same lead single four times in a row. All The Lovers part 4 is cute, it definitely grew on me during the course of the year. 13. Katy Perry - "Never Really Over" I know, I know... another song from 2019... BUT Smile finally came out this year and Never Really Over cemented itself as Katy's best lead single, possibly her best single and maybe even the best song of her entire career. It doesn't get old for moi. BEST OF 2019 POSITION: #14 12. Dua Lipa - "Break My Heart" This year was extremely unpredictable and I never thought I'd lowkey become a Dua Lipa fan-girl. Future Nostalgia is great album and Break My Heart was such a strong single choice. I'm surprised Levitating failed to make it the top 20 because I prefer it to BMH and it's the best song on the album. I think I played this one A LOT during the first half of the year, which made it stick around for the Year End chart. Can we talk about the AMAZING video?! 11. Little Mix - "Happiness" I don't know what to say... hearing about Jesy leaving the band makes me realise the end is probably fast approaching for the world's biggest girl band. I wasn't sold on the first two Confetti singles nor did I like Not a Pop Song but THIS IS AN ANTHEM. THIS IS A SMASHA. The album countdown begins TOMORROW

Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Break My Heart is a fun one Never Really Over yesss and it charted 1 spot higher than last year! No problem with that charting once again when it's better than a decent amount of 2020 singles.

It grew on me over the course of the year though Thank you for your comments everyone!
