Tom Vercetti Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Missed this but #1 song issa classic, and the top 2 are undeniable.
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Really good Top 2. Dua dominated here.
Ava Max Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 2. Dua Lipa - Physical 4. Dua Lipa - Levitating (feat. Da Baby) 5. Doja Cat - Say So 6. Dua Lipa - Don’t Start Now 7. Dua Lipa - Hallucinate 8. Dua Lipa - Break My Heart 10. Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky
potent Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 The top 2 is great of course, I think 5 Dua songs is too much though IYE great, Levitating great, DSN honestly kinda overrated imo, don't use Miley Who is SG Lewis?
Mark Rih Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Ok time to end this! I got so lazy the write ups are kinda rushed but better than nothing, be sure to check the highlights if you don't know the album x TOP 20 ALBUMS 20. Drake - Dark Lane Demo Tapes A lil quick mixtape, a nice way to put out some unreleased tracks and a couple of new bops. Expecting good things from CLB this January Highlights: Not You Too, Landed, D4L, War * couldn't find right size of the cover * 19. Tame Impala - The Slow Rush This was a let down ngl but it still had some good songs (mainly the singles). Certain tracks are long for no reason and then he wasted the best instrumental of the album on a 2 minutes song without vocals (Glimmer), I hate it here. Highlights: Borderline, Lost In Yesterday, Breathe Deeper 18. Ava Max - Heaven and Hell Cheap pop bops for life. Ava's music is generic and dated but most of these songs are such a guilty pleasure Highlights: Kings & Queens, Naked, Torn, Salt 17. Roddy Ricch - Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial Melodic rap always wins with me and this album was no difference. I see a bright future for him, he can take things to next level with his next project Highlights: The Box, High Fashion, Big Stepper, Gods Eyes 16. Kylie Minogue - DISCO Disco bops for life but I felt like this album was kinda cheap compared to other disco inspired projects from this year. Still a great effort from Kylie, the other old girls can't do this anymore Highlights: Magic, Dance Floor Darling, Supernova, Real Groove 15. Megan Thee Stallion - Good News It's not the most consistent project but it brought some bangers for sure. Her style is repetitive but I'm not tired of it so far Highlights: Circles, Movie, Sugar Baby, Body 14. Halsey - Manic I love Halsey and she's one of my fave female voices in pop, but this album isn't what I wanted from her. The pop trap sound suited her so well, wish she went all in with that one (maybe with some rock influeces too, Nightmare was great) for a full LP. However Manic wasn't bad Highlights: Without Me, You Should Be Sad, Killing Boys, More, Still Learning 13. Juice WRLD - Legends Never Dies RIP king of emo-rap. I liked DRFC better but this had several good songs too. Not sure about how I feel about them releasing so much music after his death but as long as the music is good I guess.. Highlights: Come and Go, Conversations, Smile, Life's A Mess, Wishing Well 12. Sam Sparro - Boombox Eternal Probably the most 80s thing I heard this year and in 2020 it says a lot. Deserved way more attention Highlights: Marvelous Lover, Eye 2 Eye, Save A Life, Everything 11. Elderbrook - Why Do We Shake In The Cold? A really nice electronic album, chill and easy going vibe. Highlights: My House, Back To My Bed, Who Do We Shake In The Cold?, Something Abot You 10. Raye - Euphoric Sad Songs I mean the title pretty much gives it away. She's such a talented pop writer, I don't get why she isn't bigger already at least in the UK Highlights: Regardless, Secrets, Natalie Don't, Love Of Your Life 9. Doja Cat - Hot Pink Released in 2019 but I decided to really give it a try only this year. Doja is such a fun and versatile artist, and she showed it very well on this album. I hope she doesn't waste her chances Highlights: Say So, Cyber Sex, Streets, Better Than Me 8. Ariana Grande - positions This is very low for an Ariana album, it's the first time one of her albums misses the top 3 on my countdowns. The reality is that while positions isn't a bad album at all, it feels kinda uninspired and a bit rushed; the album needed more strong songs like the title track. Still love her obviously, her voice makes almost everything good Highlights: positions, safety net, off the table, motive, just like magic 7. Bad Bunny - YHLQMDLG With this album Bad Bunny made clear that he's above the other latin acts, there's actually an artist with a clear vision behind all the bops, and this is something we can't say about most acts of this genre. YHLQMDLG is a great mix of urban and reggaeton with an experimental touch Highlights: La Santa, Solia, La Dificil, Vete, Safaera 6. Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon III: The Chosen A last minute entry but I had to include it in the top 10 considering the amount of plays during the past 2 weeks. Cudi came back with a classic, and it's divided in acts as his previous projects: the first 2 acts are more boppable but I prefer the last two because they're more introspective and "trippy" and that's where he shines the most imo Highlights: Mr.Solo Dolo III, The Void, Lovin Me, Rockstar Knights, Tequila Shots 5. Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts Her best album and her best era. This sound and image fits her so well, I really want her to stick with this vision but knowing her I already know she won't. The first half of the album > the second Highlights: Midnight Sky, WTF Do I Know, Prisoner, Gimme What I Want, Night Crawling 4. Bad Bunny - EL ULTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO Another entry for en conejo malo, his power. My fave album from him so far because he really explored his introspective side here, it's a way more chill and "sad" album compared to YHLQMDLG but it still bops; loved the rock influnces, serving latin Post Malone. Highlights: Dakiti, La Noche De Anoche, Maldita Pobreza, Te Deseo Lo Mejor, Sorry Papi 3. Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure? Classy, sultry, sexy: three words to describe this album. Jessie brought us her vision of disco and it was everything Highlights: What's Your Pleasure, In Your Eyes, Spotlight, Soul Control, Read My Lips, Remember Where You Are 2. The Weeknd - After Hours With this album Abel found a sweet spot between his previous projects: it blends the upbeat synthy beats from Starboy with the alternative R&B atmosphere from his first project in a perfect way, and the result was a classic, not to mention the stunning visuals and performances he gave us to promote the era, everything was so cohesive and well thought. p.s. the grammys can suck it Highlights: Blinding Lights, In Your Eyes, Save Your Tears, Faith, Escape From LA, After Hours 1. Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia I mean does this even need a write up? We all know she did that. One of the best albums and eras ever, brought back to life one of my fave genres, concept perfectly executed, amazing visuals and performances, every song is 10/10 except BWBB, Dua Lipa IS the music industry, etc. I'm so glad we have her Hightlights: basically the whole album but my faves are the singles + Pretty Please Recap: 1. Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia 2. The Weeknd - After Hours 3. Jessie Ware - What’s Your Pleasure 4. Bad Bunny - EL ULTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO 5. Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts 6. Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon III: The Chosen 7. Bad Bunny - YHLQMDLG 8. Ariana Grande - positions 9. Doja Cat - Hot Pink 10. Raye - Euphoric Sad Songs 11. Elderbrook - Why Do We Shake In The Cold? 12. Sam Sparro - Boombox Eternal 13. Juice WRLD - Legends Never Die 14. Halsey - Manic 15. Megan Thee Stallion - Good News 16. Kylie Minogue - DISCO 17. Roddy Ricch - Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial 18. Ava Max - Heaven & Hell 19. Tame Impala - The Slow Rush 20. Drake - Dark Line Demo Tapes That's a wrap! Thanks everyone, will check the final updates of your best of's in the upcoming days Edited December 23, 2020 by Mark Rih
