Remmy Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 F*rst M*n Feel Me is nice. Level of Concern's a cute girl, but doesn't deserve to be their 1st single to hit your top 10! Simmer should've swapped places with it, or Physical actually Love love love both of those. Attack of Panic Midnight Sky yesss, some obvious excellence
MusicLoverDude Posted December 27, 2020 Author Posted December 27, 2020 MLD's Best of 2020 5 - 1 5. Billie Eilish - everything i wanted I wouldn't call myself a stan or anything, but Billie is an artist I respect a lot as both a singer and a person. Her Vanity Fair interviews (especially this year) are literally everything and I really enjoyed several of her tracks from WWAFAWDWG and her EP last year. Bad guy even made my year-end for 2019 at #10. And then she went on to release what would end up being my favorite song of hers, the song right here at #5, everything i wanted. This song honestly feels so real and relatable. Nightmares mixed with suicidal thoughts and depression are very powerful in bad ways and Billie is someone that seems to use her music as a way that she can help herself. That's why I actually love that this song ended up being more positive because her brother has been there for her all along and it really gives me a sense of hope. As in, she'll get through anything because she has a great support system around her. So yeah, deservedly, this song was her biggest hit this year and looking forward to what Billie has in store for 2021. 4. Marshmello & Halsey - Be Kind Halsey had a VERY good year with collaborations. I mean, her MGK collab is literally only two spots below this. And Kelsea's collab with her is also on the list. And considering most of the other people in her camp have worked with Marshmello, it was only a matter of time before she did as well. And boy did this end up working out. Halsey really makes the song what it is. Marshmello's best collab since Happier. Still addicted to it. 3. Katy Perry - Daisies Yeah I know, Katy had a flop era. Oh well, I for the most part enjoyed Smile and I REALLY enjoyed Daisies. It's basically just pure pop full of empowerment and hope, which we needed in 2020. It's very close to diamond status (1000 plays) on my Last FM so I hope it gets there within the next year. 2. Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me It has been YEARS since Gaga was this high on my year-end. She hasn't been this high since 2011. Chromatica was her best work in 9 years as well. And Rain On Me is the best song on the album and Gaga's best single since (outside of A Star Is Born) since The Edge of Glory. Gaga and Ari have GREAT chemistry with each other and they both really elevate the song into the pop anthem it is. I'm still not sick of it. So...WHY is it only #2 then? Well...there's only ONE artist this year that was able to top these two...here we go everyone. The number one single of 2020 is............................................................................. 1. Taylor Swift & Bon Iver - exile Topping this list for the first time since 2015 (Style), is Taylor. And a first timer EVER on my year-end, Bon Iver. Yes, I never expected he would be on this list. But, a good song is a good song. And this song is simply amazing. The way these two have great chemistry and bounce off each other to create the environment and the vibe of the past relationship, mixed with that intensifying production (I know there's a specific word for it but I don't want to butcher the spelling of it right now. Basically it sounds like crush end oh) and everything about this song is just simply SO replayable and so memorable and SO unforgettable. Like seriously, this is one of Taylor's best ever songs and BY FAR her best collaboration. Seriously if you haven't heard this song, you need to. As horrible as 2020 was, this amazing song came out of it and we will be forever grateful. The best song of 2020, check it out.
JGibson Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 everything i wanted + Daisies + Rain On Me + Be Kind exile #1
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Great Top 2. I also like Everything I Wanted.
Remmy Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Daisies this high, interesting Couldn't quite connect with that one. everything i wanted is cute. My faves taking over the top 2 ahhh I mean exile was just a lil small radio single but oh well, no complaints about it being #1 Yeah, definitely wasn't expecting Bon Iver to be anywhere near this region. As for Gaga, "Chromatica was her best work in 9 years as well" Sir--- Solid list overall
potent Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Probably one of my favorite top 5 from you actually, 1, 2, and 5 all made my top 30. I didn't expect that from Exile for some reason (or ROM, honestly), but they're both great tracks. EIW is definitely the deserving Billie single from this year
Into The Void Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Be Kind, Daises, ROM Exile is q choice I honestly cant listen to that track
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 28, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 28, 2020 Quote Her Vanity Fair interviews (especially this year) are literally everything i actually find them very cringey but everything i wanted is a great song! nice to see daisies this high too! exile is good but a tad overrated
D/X Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 I agree that Everything i Wanted is Billie's best, very personal and raw, and definitely one of the best from the year.
