Ewan Chaos Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 OH the Tyler remix for Automatic Driver... **** I forgot how good this is too nnn I need to play it more because I kinda do NOT care for the album version. Tucked, only non NRO song I liked from Smile. 911 and 24 Hours, not my favorite picks from their albums but I see the appeal. This Ritt Momney person... I'm a bit sick of those nomenclatures for artists (yes I know San Holo had a song on my top list nnn), but lemme check this song out.
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 7, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 7, 2020 Quote IDK if I should take this as a compliment or shade jk Legend E Glad you liked the top albums! i---- tucked, prisoner and 911 bops maybe i should check out what la roux put out this year.
Lazuli Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 the put your records on cover the only version of it i accept is tucked is cute but overrated prisoner could've been so much better tbh 911
ikiru Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 prisoner was a bit underwhelming for me, love the verses but the chorus is a letdown fisher and georgia in the top 50
K$Ellie Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Prisoner a massive bop 911 and 24 Hours were some of the better songs on those albums I suppose but hopefully ITZY's 24hrs is higher Tucked was my fave album track on Smile
Staryu Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Prisoner was underwhelming to me at first but it has really grown on me
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted December 7, 2020 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 7, 2020 jpow's top songs of 2020 #40-#31 40 | Fire for You - Cannons 39 | Time (You & I) - Khruangbin 38 | Akasaka Sad - Rina Sawayama 37 | Secrets - Regard & RAYE 36 | Break My Heart - Dua Lipa 35 | Ooh La La - Jessie Ware 34 | Need Your Love - Tennis 33 | All The Things She Said - Poppy 32 | Breaking Me - A7S, Topic 31 | Hard to Believe - Kindness, Jazmine Sullivan Update #3! First song is Fire for You from Cannons. The more-chill electronica/pop is absolutely perfect, I really need to listen to more of their music. Next is Time (You & I) by Khruangbin. If you have been seeing a lot of Khruangbin on people's countdowns and want to find a song to start listening to them with, this would be my recommendation. It's a great blend of their global soul/funk mixed with a slight Disco sound and is one of their few fully vocal tracks. Following that is my first of three Rina tracks. I had a hard time deciding between Akasaka Sad, Dynasty, and STFU when I made the countdown but looking back on it I should have just replaced it with recently released We Out Here instead . Another hard choice in this countdown was to nominate the official Secrets release with Regard & RAYE, or if I was going to go with the downtempo demo that's absolutely fantastic but I decided to go with the final version. Speaking of hard decisions, another issue I had was which three Dua Lipa songs to put in this countdown. Break My Heart is one of my most played songs of the year so it comes in as the third ranked Dua song. More hard decisions (you can see this whole countdown was rough for me to narrow down lol) comes with Ooh La La by Jessie Ware, as I knew pretty quickly what my top two Jessie songs were but had a hard time deciding between Ooh La La, the title track, and Mirage (Don't Stop). Back to some easier decisions, Need Your Love by Tennis was one of their best tracks from their amazing album Swimmer and they created an accessible but unique sound with this release that I really connected with. After that was my introduction to Poppy with her cover of t.A.T.u.'s ATTSS. t.A.T.u. was probably the first musician/band that I truly stanned for back before White Robe was released (I even pretended to like White Robe once it was released) so it was nice to see a current artist do a cover of their most recognizable hit. Breaking Me was a great crossover dance hit this year; every year a few of these pop up and I almost always love them even if they end up aging quickly. And last on my countdown is a 2019 song I found this year, Hard to Believe by Kindness featuring Jazmine Sullivan. I was not that familiar with either artist when I came across this song. I knew Kindness from his Cry Everything track with Robyn, and I knew Jazmine Sullivan from Bust Your Windows and that was it. This track is absolute fire though, a new sound for Jazmine while a definite peak for Kindness on the album.

Everybody did too much on Smile - it's cute. "911" obvi a bop - we been knew. Smile isn't as awful as people said, it's pretty harmless. It's just that most of the album doesn't serve quality like NRO or Tucked. 17 hours ago, Kevin2803 said: Prisoner already in your top 50 Lose Control is also a bop Dua and Miley did that 14 hours ago, Ava Max said: Tucked, Prisoner & 911 12 hours ago, Remmy said: Tucked and 24 Hours are some good ones Prisoner 911 Yup she did what she needed to do there Glad to see some 24 Hours love here 12 hours ago, Mr. Loco said: 911 Gaga's best music video since Judas 11 hours ago, potent said: PYRO the original outsold! 911 is the one I kinda like from this set, honestly Prisoner is just straight up rip off of Physical (Olivia Newton John), even if it is sampled I feel like they didn't do anything interesting with it The original definitely outsold but the cover of PYRO is cute too! I kinda live for everything Olivia Newton John too so I'm fine with Dua being on two Physical inspired songs this year 11 hours ago, Ewan Chaos said: OH the Tyler remix for Automatic Driver... **** I forgot how good this is too nnn I need to play it more because I kinda do NOT care for the album version.
