10. Kehlani - It Was Good Until It Wasn't

Quote

Kehlani's second studio album was very lackluster and quite a disappointment when compared to SweetSexySavage and While We Wait. Although this project wasn't all terrible and there were select standouts ("Water"), It Was Good Until It Wasn't perfectly summarizes Kehlani's discography up to this point.

9. Alice Chater - Aries

Quote

Alice Chater's debut EP was nothing but an utter disaster after the string of pop-perfection singles that preceded the release. Aiming for a mid-tempo sonic direction, Aries took everything out of what made Alice Chater interesting and placed her into the indistinguishable Spotify playlist filler girls. Hope she returns to her pop perfection roots soon or her Hourglass might just run out of sand.

8. Halsey - Manic

Quote

Preceded by Graveyard and Nightmare (which are my favourite Halsey singles to date), Manic turned from an anticipated pop-rock masterpiece to a mellow, all over the place compilation. I'm not sure what she was trying to achieve with this album except it being her "most personal record to date", but the album falls flat in almost every aspect sans lyricism which peaks in a few of her songs displayed here. Songs like "Graveyard" and "You should be sad" hold this album up from falling flat on its face.

7. Bea Miller - elated!

Quote

Bea Miller's most recent body of work following her second album "Aurora", elated! falls to mediocrity and boredom after an attempt at a more alternative sound from Miller. Following the abandonment of what seemed to be a much more exciting era than whatever this project presents itself to be, with the 2019 singles "It's Not U, It's Me" and "Feel Something", elated! just fulfills me with the feeling of the exact opposite of the title.

6. Little Mix - Confetti

Quote

"Break Up Song" and "Holiday" were not my favourite singles from the girls but once "Sweet Melody" dropped alongside it's STUNNING choreography based visual, I was re-hooked. Unfortunately the album doesn't touch the highs of "Sweet Melody" and is packed to the rim with filler.

5. City Girls - City on Lock

Quote

City Girls' second studio album, City on Lock, was met with high anticipation from the female rap community as everyone was excited to see what their next steps would be after the success of "Act Up" and the Cardi B collaboration "Freak", alongside the release of JT. Unfortunately the album suffered an entire leak and was rush released a day after it wound up on the internet and might be reason why the album is as disappointing as it was. Although the album features catchy singles such as the Doja Cat assisted "P*ssy Talk" and "Jobs", there isn't nearly as many highs as "Girl Code".

4. Selena Gomez - Rare

Quote

When "Lose You to Love Me"/ "Look at Her Now" dropped I was very excited to see where Selena would go in all aspects especially after her stretched out droplet era which consisted of my favourite Selena singles ever ("Bad Liar" and "Fetish") which hinted at more experimentation from Gomez. Unfortunately Rare felt like a retreat to the basic pop Gomez makes extremely well for Pop radio audiences, and didn't offer anything that was exhibited in her 2017 singles.

3.  Kesha - High Road

Quote

Kesha's fourth studio album was an utter disappointment to my ears and my time. There were not many songs I can recall that I actually enjoyed besides "Raising Hell" and "Kinky". If "Kesha Got Her Balls Back" maybe she needs to get them inspected.

2. Allie X - Cape God

Quote

Allie X's Cape God was maybe the biggest disappointment this year, after the excellent 8 track project that was "Super Sunset", I was excited to see where Allie would go next. Unfortunately what she delivered was nothing but a snooze fest. Gorgeous album cover though.

1. Lady Gaga - Chromatica

Quote

Words cannot describe how embarrassing this album is and I can't believe there are fans still defending it. Packed to the rim with aged-on-arrival BloodPop production, Chromatica was truly carried by the Ariana Grande collaboration "Rain on Me" which is where the peak of everyone's spirits were, and still are to this day, because after the album dropped, it was truly comparable to Gaga's signatures on the signed CDs:
