Work, Panda and Cheap Thrills all went to #1 last year and they might as well be in Spanish since nobody can understand the lyrics.

It's a terrible song if you ask me. Luis Fonsi ruins it for me.

This is a record right? Never seen a Spanish song at #1

Lmao i feel the totally opposite way. Bieber ruined the song imo

Quintanilla, can't remember if it was the Gomez version for her GH album or original

Edit: the Selena duet was released in 2014, but the solo was released 2015

Selena Gomez's iTunes chart history

Didi bom bom wasnt even charted in top 100.

I'm impressed tbh. I knew the remix would be top 10 on iTunes because of Bieber but I expected it to fall after a few days, but is holding greatly. If radio picks the song up, this could definitely be #1.

And kii at Zedd free-falling without that discount.

Selena's Bidi Bidi Bom Bom was a number one for two hours when her label released a posthumous greatest hits album from 2015, so no.

It didnt....

Justin Bieber his power... unstoppable!

now we have an interesting situation where all of this generation's main pop boys are fighting on the charts:gaycat4:Bieber, Ed, Bruno, Weeknd, Drake.

lmao how was Chantaje overhyped? Of course people are going to go on about it considering how high it got in the Hot 100 and how long it stayed on the chart. The only song like that which did better recently was El Perdon and Despacito (it was doing a bit better than Chantaje even without the remix). Bailando had Spanglish remix with Sean Paul and was sent to radio so it did a LOT better as well, but that's all I can think of.

I like it :alexz3:  JB's voice is so nice ughh

Surprised that this blew up in US before Chantaje, but also not surprised considering it's JB on it now.

Imagien Shakira Chantaje ft. Justin Bieber tho :jonny: x99999999999999

BORICUA PUÑETA!!!!!!!! Well deserve, the song is great :clap3:

There's now two songs in the top 5 on iTunes that mentions 'Puerto Rico' :clap3:

By the way, this song is waaaaaaay better than Chantaje, imo.

The Music video recently got to a billion views too :clap3:

Latin music is so good, so why do these awful reggaeton songs that literally sound the exact same become global smashes every year?

Overhyped by who? :toofunny2:

Shakira didn't even promote the song. She just released the video and paid it complete DUST. Had she released a remix with a big US artist, let's say Drake, for example, it would've smashed like "Despacito" is doing :cm:

Because people have no taste at all... Natalia Lafourcade, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Juanes, Carlos Vives, etc are all better than this...

Why is is everyone saying Spanish record or first Spanish song, isn't Bieber singing in English? Then no it doesn't count. We have yet to hear a full Spanish record hit #1.

La Macarena was close, but the remix with the English speaking parts hit #1.

Also, Enrique's Spanglish song "Bailamos" also hit #1.

I thought I was the only one that loves when huge hits say "Puerto Rico" in their songs. Haha! Asi es puñeta!

This is our revenge for losing the World Baseball Classic. :fan: As I told everyone we may have lost in baseball, but we are still globally known through music and films.

Which other song says "PR" in the Top 5?
