GwennyGwenGwen
With Happy Anywhere rising 10 spots to #36 this week, she becomes the first woman over 50 in history to have two top 40 hits in the same calendar year (Tina Turner did it within a year, but off calendar). Look at Blake's Hot 100 history...Nobody But You is arguably his biggest Hot 100 hit ever, and Happy Anywhere will likely end up being one of his biggest ever as well....out of TONS and TONS of singles. Is it in part because of the commercial power of their 'love story' yes, absolutely...but that certainly is as much about her as him. And they also just happen to be cute, good songs. Except Blake's most recent Top 20 hit before the Gwen collabs was literally only last year and that peaked at #17 while Nobody But You peaked at #18, and their year-end positions are pretty much almost the same (#53 for God's Country and NBY is projected for #51). Not to mention that Blake has had a LOT of chart presence, especially if you compare 2016 where he had two different songs chart higher than anything from Gwen's last record and it actually had a Top 40 hit with it. Not to mention that Blake has had a consistent chart presence and country radio presence. "This just isn't true"...when Gwen would have never been this high in her later years without someone as powerful as Blake is in country.
rihannabiggestfan
Gwen hasn't released ANY solo non-Xmas music this year, so the "It's only because of Blake!" drag attempts fall flat. and Blake's last non-Gwen single peaked at #99, while his last 2 Gwen singles went top

But here is the thing you're missing...I never said this is ONLY because of Gwen...you said this is ONLY because of Blake. It is very obviously because of both of them. Nobody is taking away Blake's contribution to the success of these songs, or his ability to get solo hits...you're taking away Gwen's contribution,...which considering they'll probably end up being two of Blake's top 5, definitely top 10 biggest singles ever...and none of Gwen's top 5, probably not even top 10 biggest singles ever...seems rather silly. Of course Blake helped her get these hits, and she helped him get these hits lol.
