Little Mix being the only girl group from the 10s on this list, not one single girl group post-LM’s debut on the list dddd.

Am I also right in saying that no other girl group post-LM has ever gotten a U.K. number 1 in general? I think Fifth Harmony came closest with WFH.

They really did remain peerless for almost an entire decade, but ATRL simply won’t acknowledge it. Truly revived an all-but-dead girl group market in the U.K. and have sustained it for 9 years (and counting) :clap3:

The Saturdays got one in 2013 with What About Us ft Sean Paul, but that's it.

DC the only non-UK group...

One thing I find interesting about the pop music scene in the UK is that when it comes to groups, they mainly prefer and support their own (and long term too) over foreign ones but with solo acts, it seems to be the opposite the majority of the time lol.

Actually, I think it debuted earlier because of some remixes being released before the actual single, I remember them being the first British act to being #1 on downloads only (but maybe I'm wrong :eli:)

I think making a list of girl groups of all the songs that peaked at #1 is more interesting

O sis :rip: dunno how many pop girls there have been that hit #1

but there is already a similar article to that

What about PCD?

They've had 2 - #1 hits in the UK..but only 1 of them Debuted at the top spot, so they couldn't really be put on here

Tbh, I was also surprised to see that they weren't more successful (dont get me wrong, 8 out of 10 songs (if we dont count the recent one) all going in the Top 10, is pretty impressive )
