Interesting thread!
Taylor :clap3:

btw @Feanor isn’t Ashanti runner up for studio album #1?

You are right! Ashanti is the actual runner-up, my bad. I corrected it now, thanks for the info :clap3:

Damn I didn't know AFY had such a big opening

R&B albums had huge first-week power in the early 00s. Mary, DC, Alicia did 600k+ first week too

Taylor :dies:

#9 and #10 probably on lock for Miss Swift too, but Adele will probably snatch #4 from Red... I don't think A5 will beat 1989, though

Queen serving longevity :clap3:

Janet's first week is always healthy. Damita Jo opened with 381,000 despite the huge and unprecedented backlash. Discipline opened with 181,000 and Unbreakable with 116,000. I hope she continues the trend.

Honestly I don't see her next album selling 100K first week, 95K max

@Feanor You're Missing Mary J. Blige for A Lot of these

For example,

For Album #7 - The Breakthrough would be #2 with 727k

For Album #8 - Growing Pains would be #2 with 629k

For Album #9 - Stronger With Each Tear would be #1 with 332k

For Album #13 - Strength of a Woman would be #2 with 78k

'evermore', Taylor Swift's 9th studio album debuts with 329k copies in the US.

It's the new runner-up for highest 1st week sales for a 9th studio album by a female artist :clap3:

But Mary J. Blige keeps the record with 332k :clap3:

I think it will change if Taylor goes back to her normal releases and have her normal months of preorders and have physicals available 1st week. Evermore would've been #1 if it werent for that

Kylie Minogue's DISCO could be be runner up for 15th studio album. 19k.
