These are the highest first week sales in the US for female artists per studio album, from the first, all the way until the 15th…

 

Disclaimer: I used the artists' discography Wikipedia pages to look up the studio albums, so I did not decide what qualifies as studio album and what not.

Tho it’s a movie soundtrack and wasn’t only wk but Whitney Houston (The Bodyguard) has moved a million units in one wk.


It sold 40 million WW and 20m in the US! ??
 

I actually think that’s more impressive as it was wks after its release when it did it!

6/8 taylor Albums in the top 2, 5/8 ranking first.  She has had an impressive career

Taylor will snatch quite a few more on her way down (and she's doing it in this sales climate)

But also let's not forget that Adele will snatch at least 1 or 2 from Taylor with her next releases.
