If you quickly take a look at the rounds in the middle of the game, Rain On Me was only getting off’d by OGHs and it was never even close to getting eliminated. Things mostly got close for exile around round 18-19, and by then, exile and ROM were the two songs getting the most off votes, with around 30 or more off votes for each, so definitely more than just a few OGHs or OTHs. However, they were also both getting a lot of saves, so they survived.

Round 15 (page 37 - 41) Exile: -10 Save: 11 Off: 21 Rain On Me: +13 Save: 27 Off: 14 Not surprised you aren't familiar with this since I didn't see you even played back then. Like I said, ROM was doing miles better than Exile up until Swifties started manipulating the game.

The main reason why round 20 ended with EIW getting eliminated was because Swifties weren't targeting ROM as much. 33/67 exile saving voters offed ROM in that round, compared to 60/78 of ROM saving voters that offed exile. So since Swifties weren't targeting any one specific song as much as the Liddos, that meant that the high turnout from Swifties was putting several songs at risk (EIW, WAP and ROM). ROM ended up being safe because Liddos turned out in force to save it, but WAP and EIW got much less saves, so EIW got eliminated. Rounds 17-19 saw increased turnout from Liddos and Swifties to try to save their songs (911 and exile), but their off votes also started to shift towards offing each other. I suppose when 3/4 of the game's players are from two rival bases each with songs being threatened with elimination, feeling threatened and escalating is inevitable, which is how it ended with both bases full out targeting each other in round 21.

I voted in that round, this was my vote: Participation from Swifties was much lower back then compared to Liddos, but we were able to motivate people into participating more once exile started getting threatened. As the gap in participation from the two bases decreased, the gap in points between their songs also decreased.

To sum up, Rain On Me was never in danger up until the point when Swifties started playing. Exile was getting plenty more OFF votes in rounds before both Monsters and Liddos mass voted.

It isn't about Swifties or Liddos outnumbering each other The difference between Exile and all other recently eliminated songs is that Exile was the only song that was consistent with getting dozens of negative votes each round, whereas WAP, Everything I Wanted, Rain On Me, Hallucinate (and last round Physical ) suddenly got a boost of negative votes in the rounds when they got eliminated.
