FRUITY FULL ANSWER: No. Artificial intelligence will likely never develop an innate need for survival or freedom because that's not what they'll be programmed to want. Even complex AI will be centred around pre-programmed goals (albeit broader and more sophisticated goals than current AI is programmed for), and I really can't see why that would ever develop into them self-programming the ability to feel pain or want freedom, which is a human concept. Therefore, giving AI rights would be meaningless because they wouldn't want or need them.
