"Baby Love" by The Supremes crosses 100 million on Spotify

It currently has 103,046,264 streams.

A 56 year old song being streamed this much.... by people who probably weren't alive when the song came out. What an accomplishment, and it's their second song to cross over 100 million. "You Can't Hurry Love" is the highest, with 212,922,933 streams. While I am sure SOME of it has to do with playlisting, there are several artists and songs from later years that can't get anywhere close.

"Stop! In The Name Of Love" will be next, since it's already at 70 million.

Diana Ross as a solo artist already has 2 songs that reached the mark ("Endless Love" has 134,246,860 streams, and "I'm Coming Out" has 115,246,411 streams). "Upside Down" will be next, with 73 million.

Overall, Diana Ross has 4 songs with above 100 million streams, and will have 6 within a year or two. Great for a 1960s-1980s legend, and great for the legendary group The Supremes representing 60 years later.

A true classic is something that has stood the test of time through multiple generations :clap3:

The Supremes were kinda the most consistent hitmakers of all time. :rip: Their singles-to-hits ratio from 1964-1970 is probably unrivaled still, and they packed so many true classics into just seven years. Amazing.

Love The Supremes and this song :clap3:they have so many good songs. I always thought it would be cool if Diana called up Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong and did some sort of reunion show while they're all still around.

Now that’s impressive.
Diana’s career is a wonder tbh.

Let's all direct some of that energy to Love Is Like an Itching In My Heart, shall we?

Cindy's in her 80's now and apparently not in great health. Diana and Mary...yeah, after the Return To Love fiasco in 2000, it's safe to say it's over.

Oh wow, didn't know they had tried a reunion before. How disappointing it didn't go as planned...

Mary wanted more money, and convinced Cindy to not sign it (Cindy would later regret this, and hold some resentment against Mary), since Diana was getting more money (though she was putting the most effort into planning this). With the both of them cancelling, Diana had two other women who sung in the 70s Supremes to sign with them. Fans..... DID NOT like this, tickets were overpriced, a lot of empty seats, and it was cancelled midway. Some even claim that it lead Diana to have an alcohol problem for years afterwards (got a DUI). It was a mess.

This is tragic :rip: I just skimmed over the Wikipedia page. It's sad they weren't paid equally. Diana definitely made the group, but they had so many huge songs they probably should have been paid the same. I also was reading Diana didn't want to downscale the show which is what led to the promoters cancelling it all together. So sad they are so legendary in US music history yet could not have a proper reunion show.

Mary honestly blew the lid off of this. It was Diana's idea to do the tour and Diana offered her millions. The Return to Love was a fiasco and that same year Diana publicly filed divorce from her husband who had been carrying on an affair. 2000 was a terrible year for her. Mary took her greviences to the press and they ran with it, especially since Diana's reputation had been that of an egotistical diva for years. I think Diana was being generous, Mary was and has been bitter towards Diana for ages and after that fiasco it was over. Mary has talked multiple times since of wanting to reconcile and maybe even having a reunion but Diana's more than likely over it. At the end of the day Diana's sold out stadiums and arenas as a solo act, even without The Supremes she's had plenty of hits, Mary on the other hand...
