So Chainsmokers are gonna top the charts until the next big release? Or can Drake take the top spot back?

They will only get 1 week. Looking like Kendrick will do J. Cole #s next week

I really need to figure out the formula Billboard uses for All-Time Billboard 200 + All-Time Billboard 200 Artists.

Views has to be in/coming for the Top 40 all-time Billboard 200 albums, and he has to have possibly made the All-Time Artists list with all this slayage on Billboard 200 since 2016.

lol he's not on any all time list. Not with those sales. His albums struggle to even do 2 mill. In all time terms thats small fry.

Please don't speak on something you don't know about.

:alexz2:

All-Time Billboard 200 is based on chart runs, not sales, like the All-Time Hot 100:

Pure Heroine made it with less than 2 million sales. In the Lonely Hour made the Top 100 with around 2 million sales.

His chart run on Billboard 200 is much better than both. His album spent 13 weeks at #1 (neither Pure Heroine & Lonely Hour went #1), and is still Top 20 a year later. It's without a doubt in the Top 100 and nearing Top 40 if it hasn't made it yet.

yes those streaming fuelled chart runs. Which past albums of other artists never had. Let us not forget that before he had the whole streaming boosts his albums were being judged on pure sales like everybody elses. And he struggled to do 2 million. Even 1.5 million. Which should give you a big fat clue about how much streaming has grossly inflated his numbers and chart runs. And we all know how fast his sales use to plummet too.

And In the lonely hour did more like 2.4 million. Which is a million more than certain Drake albums.

Sir, you seem mad. All I'm saying is... Views and it's magnificent chart run is coming for the All-Time Billboard 200 Top 40.

:fan:

And Sam was around 2 million, when the list was published, in October 2015. Not 2.4 million.

why haven't people been talking about this

Um... pretty much every Billboard 200 thread over the last 2 years has featured some sort of discussion (or heated argument) about SEA

The 60 Anniversary BB Hot 100 comes out summer/fall 2018. At that time, BB will update the all time charts.

This is why I wish labels released just one song at a time for downloads and streaming. This would extend the life of the albums, and help return them to the once typical five (or even more) releases. The albums would sell more, chart longer, and each single would sell and stream better. Then the actual singles aren't having to compete against non-official tracks on the album. At the end of the era, then open up the entire album for downloads and streaming.

This album track mess we have now screws up not just the BB 200 but also the Hot 100 (and other formats albums and singles charts). And this would cut down on CMA, which is a practice that shouldn't be allowed to remove singles saled when a fan buy the parent album. Album Sales shouldn't cancel out previously purchased songs to being with.

I just know that 21 has strengthened its #1 position on that all -time list when it gets updated :alexz2:

Btw @iHype. given its chartrun so far, where would you guess 25 is right now on that all time list? ~70 weeks inside top 30 and 10 weeks #1 should give a pretty good chance to enter imo?

To think Drake blocked Ariana from #1 last year and now TC is about to snatch a #1, he couldn't block THEM :ace:

Yikes! Streaming might cover up those lackluster sales, but it's just an illusion. An inflating mess.
