rl231 Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 (edited) @Alena @Clueless @dussymob @Gateau @Krazii @Staryu @Touch It Results are coming in a couple of hours!! However, here are the entries for the round. Alena - Doja Cat - Hot Pink Spoiler On 3/15/2020 at 12:51 AM, Alena said: DOJA CAT | DOJA'S RULES (EP) 1 Say So (3:58) 2 Rules (3:07) 3 Like That ft. Gucci Mane (2:43) 4 Streets (3:47) 5 Bottom Bitch (3:18) 6 Cyber Sex (2:46) EXPLANATION'S For the EP's tracklist i wanted to include mostly fun songs that introduce people to Doja's style of music. I also tried to make the tracklisting flow quite well with starting with some bops, slightly going to a more mid-tempo sound in the middle and then ending it on a high note! What a time to be alive... Say So opens the album with it's fun throwback sound! It's also the opener because it has become her biggest hit and why not start the EP on a high note? The EP gets you right away in the right mood for the rest of it with Say So. Rules comes after Say So. Another bop after another bop! This is my personal favorite song of Doja's and it has gotten lot's of love from her fans all over so it was a MUST on the EP. Rules keeps up the fun vibe of the EP and keeps you jamming. After Rules comes Like That. Like That is another fun bop which goes perfectly after the first 2 songs of the EP. However i do feel like it has a more chill feeling overall which leads to the next song. Streets is the 'odd one out' i wanted to include on the EP. It is FAR more slow tempo than the rest of the EP. However i wanted to include also something abit different to the mix. Streets is a gem and deserved it's spot on the EP. It kind of cuts the vibe from the early bops to the more sex sex sex, themed last songs. Bottom Bitch comes next. I wanted to include Bottom Bitch kind of as an 'interlude' to the last song of the EP. This song is super fun and changes the mood from Streets but not too much. Cyber Sex closes the EP. Bottom Bitch was kinda leading the mood to this song and now the EP get's to end on a sexy cute vibe. I also feel like if you have the EP on repeat going from Cyber Sex to Say So flows quite well! Clueless - Caroline Polachek - Pang Spoiler On 3/16/2020 at 10:10 AM, clueless said: Caroline Polachek - The Bride (2019) This EP explores the mindset of a woman who has been through tumultuous relationships with partners, before eventually falling for the person of her dreams. She goes through the normal thought pattern of being excited, while having doubt in this new relationship. She's wondering if she finally found "the one." Tracklist: 1. I Give Up 2. So Hot You're Hurting My Feeling 3. Pang 4. Hit Me Where It Hurts 5. Ocean of Tears 6. Caroline Shut Up 7. Door ___________________________________________________________ 1. "I Give Up" When I stop caring, you stop caring When I care less and you care less than me When I don't need and I don't believe in The hollow phrases you still repeat I give up How far can you fall When you're already down? The protagonist has officially given up on yet another relationship. She's feeling pretty hopeless right now. She feels trapped in the relationship and she wants to be set free. 2. "So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings" And I'm out at a party, they're playing our song I cry on the dance floor, it's so embarrassing Don't send me photos, you're making it worse 'Cause you're so hot it's hurting my feelings The protagonist has finally met someone. She's been spending time with them. She's physically attracted to them, and her infatuation begins. 3. "Pang" Tell me what you're afraid of Tell me what night is made of What can I not destroy for you? I open the door and you run through Into me Pang, and I go Into you Pang, and you go The protagonist and her partner have finally fallen in love. But will it last? 4. "Hit Me Where It Hurts" I'm feeling like a butterfly trapped inside a plane Maybe there's something going on, I'm not insane If I'm already out of time, then make it worse Go on and hit me in the heart, hit me where it hurts This is where the new relationship starts to get a bit complicated. The protagonist is damaged from past relationships, so she thinks that something's "wrong" with her. She's asking the new partner to end the relationship. She's basically saying "I'm damaged, I'm crazy, leave while you still can." Kinda tragic. 5. "Ocean of Tears" Oh my god, I wanna know what it feels like Just an inch away from living a dream life The only thing that's separating you and me tonight Ah, is an ocean of tears She realizes that the only thing stopping them from continuing the relationship is her. The protagonist knows that she must stop thinking about the past, and stop letting the pain from past relationships poison her new relationship. (If she wants the new relationship to prosper) 6. "Caroline Shut Up" Sometimes, I wonder Do I love you too much? Then I tell myself, "Caroline, shut up" 'Cause there's only one way One way to find out If it ever gets better than right now The protagonist wonders if she's falling for her partner too fast. Are things moving too quickly for her to catch up? She answers that question for herself: "No! Caroline, shut up!" 7. "Door" Took ten laps 'round the planet To prove what I wasn't And the door slams hard behind you When you leave the house of judgment You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you The protagonist finally seems to be ready to move on and let the new relationship take its course naturally. She's opening the door to her future with her new partner. Will it last? Will they actually get married? Are these relationships just a never-ending cycle in her life? But how hard is it to escape the dark zone? During the devil’s hour we’re often stuck feeling pessimistic doom. We begin to reminisce on that one relationship that we can’t forget. The one that cut us the deepest the one that caused us the most grief. At once a stranger and then a lover to once again become a stranger. Finally in love or finally in despair? That relationship put you here. In the graveyard to forever fall and be buried. What happens next you say? Well we start to hate them…hate ourselves…hate everybody. You’re buried and don’t want to dig your way out. But this shouldn’t be the end right? This shouldn’t. You shouldn’t be sad but that person should. Speak it OUT. Let them feel it whether they hear it or not but speak your mind because it will make you feel better soon. Let the nightmare end and the dreams of big change begin. Without the B.S. holding you back you can prosper into a better person and a stronger person as the hour reach a climax. Now here’s the reflection period as the conclusion gets closer. This is the period you think about the positives and the moments that make you grateful and appreciative of the life you’re given. There’s more to love, there’s more to do. We all have done wrong but we can make it right. In the end we’re all still learning to love ourself and learn life and learn the journey. We really never stop learning but at the end of this dark hour we have achieved what was needed. That is the push to new freedom and a new journey as we awaken into a new person. The Devil's Hour is over. 3AM Finally//Beautiful Stranger Graveyard I HATE EVERYBODY You Should Be Sad Without Me More Still Learning Gateau - Tove Lo - Sunshine Kitty Spoiler On 3/15/2020 at 6:08 PM, Gateau said: Player Name: Gateau EP Title: Survivor Cover Art: EP Tracklist for those without spotify: 1. Jacques 2. Sweettalk My Heart 3. Are U Gonna Tell Her? 4. Glad He's Gone 5. Bad As The Boys 6. Mateo 7. Anywhere U Go Explanation: The EP I made is titled Survivor. A little on the nose, right? But when I listened to Sunshine Kitty, I had this sinking feeling that this had represented my experience with Survivor, and the experiences I have seen on television. I don't know how many of you have seen the show or played the game, so I'll try to make my thoughts as clear as possible. The album has a strong beachy vibe, and in my head I imagine that orange, hazey sunset hanging over an ocean like I have in my cover image. Although this season is in the Galaxy, survivor and the game spinoffs are normally hosted in tropical locations, one of which being Brazil, and on this record MC Zaac, a native Brazilian raps in Porutguese to 'Are U Gonna Tell Her?' My first track is Jacques because its such a slick, party vibe that's unmatched by anything on the record. Also, I'm a francophone and this song fits the introductory vibe of survivor, meeting someone for the first time and immediately getting to a running start with them. "Je m'appelle Tove, get the show on the road". The second song is the post-meet and the pre-alliance jam, Sweettalk My Heart. It was THE standout song for me from the first time I heard it, and I've been associating it with the sweettalk you have to do to get someone into an alliance with you. You tell them "I can be yours." You demand attention, commitment. You ask them about their dreams, their plans for the future and tell them "we we can go far" and the promises you make to each other pull you in for good. After STMH, the only song that could come after that absolute BOP is Are U Gonna Tell Her. This also fits perfectly in the timeline of the game, as at this point I had began a secret cross-tribal partnership with Dussy. The exciting, heart racing feeling of doing something you know you're not supposed to is dripping all throughout the beat, and the fresh, island party climax vibe fits perfectly in the imagination. "You don't belong to me, Are you gonna tell her?" Are the words I thought of when imagining him going back to his own tribe, wondering if he would tell them. In the middle of the merge, and in the middle of this EP lands the celebratory jingle Glad He's Gone. Boys and I had an ongoing rivalry from the very first round of the game, where he attempted to vote me out. He was the only person I had a bad feeling about, so naturally when he and Alena flipped against our Galatea tribe and instead sided with Telesto, I was not shy about wanting him out. My Galatea allies protested taking out one of our own while I protested "B*tch I love you. HE NEVER LOVED YOU!" And after another unsuccessful attempt at voting me out, I finally sent him home.I literally played this song the night he went and did a lil celebratory twerk. Even though Alena had flipped on us and I still felt unsure about her, I actually really liked her still and I didn't feel good about voting against her, even though it was necessary. I thought that if Boys was the evil twin, she was definitely the good twin. That is, until she gained a concrete majority over the game. At final 9, we got into a huge argument and that's when it clicked with me. She was Just as bad as the Boys. After the big fight and being in the minority in the game, I started feeling really dejected and wondered why Dussy wouldn't vote with me. The other side was filled with pretty girls, pretty girls that had never been rejected while here on Galatea we're just a loose bunch of leftovers. That's when Mateo started playing in my head. "I act so cool but that's not me, Still not the one you choose to see". The final track of the album and this EP, Tove opens with another island-esque line about standing in the sun. The title also evokes a feeling of adventure, like survivor does. I tried for three rounds to get Dussy to vote with us again, each time feeling abandoned, but still hanging onto him, telling him "I'll go anywhere u go". I'm in my head, thinking about how I dont know what I'm doing and trying to keep up the facade that I'm fine. "I try to laugh it all off, truth is I'm lost cause I'm suppose to be". This song as an ending feels so perfect, as its an accurate representation of the lingering unsure, but still making an attempt to fight through. Final explanation: this was one of my favorite albums of last year, and im so glad I had the chance to share my favorite songs from it, and having them fit so well with my story arc here is just a huge plus. Every song on this EP is really special to me and I hope my explanation caused the readers to look more into the lyrics, because all them are just so raw and honest. Tove did THAT. My explanation is a bit long because I wanted to give complete insight on why the songs were picked, what I liked about them specifically, and why they were ordered the way they were. PS: I downloaded a third party app to change the photo on my spotify playlist to the cover of the EP, as that feature isn't available on mobile. APPRECIATE THE RISK and RIP my account if my information is stolen because of this hehe Krazii - Nina Nesbitt - The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change Spoiler On 3/17/2020 at 2:31 AM, Krazii said: Nina Nesbitt- Colder EP https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7x2nXb593gON39vSgJiJHJ?si=qp715RMsQ4OqgH7glcsJvg Tracklist 1. The moments i'm missing 2. Somebody Special 3. Is it really me you're missing 4. Love letter 5. The best you had 6. Loyal to me 7. Colder Explanation- So firstly with this playlist and the songs provided i kinda wanted to go with a theme/story about how the narrator went from talking about her life and how love/heartbreak may have affected it. Going from someone who thought they felt special and in love, but turns out the narrator realizes the relationship was pretty toxic, and then kinda flipped it into a more of a upbeat/confident outlook where now shes finally accepting, letting go, and has learned from it. Track 1- I picked this song because it kinda introduces the narrator and explains briefly about things such as past moments she misses as well as dreams and missed opportunities she may have missed out on. Lastly she mentions a first love which messed her up and caused her to have issues with falling in love. Track 2- With this track i felt beside the first track this would be a bit of a good start to this lil theme, because she talks about how this said person makes her feel special and it gives that vibe of someone falling in love, and or just loves the way this person makes her feel like she is just happy at the moment. Track 3- I chose this song because i feel it expresses the feeling of her starting to realize that the only reason this person wants her attention is cause she makes her self available. So she is starting to see this person just wants her when its convenient for them. At least that's how i interpreted it. Track 4- I feel like this track switches up the tempo a little bit which is why i added it, it has that upbeat feeling but still focuses on the realization of how her love life wasn't the greatest and she expresses that. Track 5- This song just personifies someone who feels kinda hurt even after a break up and watching that person move on but yet still somehow finds the confidence to know she has to let go. so basically acceptance by her stating she is still the best he's had. Track 6- Getting back into the uptempo sound, i feel as though this song expresses awareness as well as informing others who may have found them selves in these particular situations. Making loyalty a big moment in this song as well as those red flags in relationships. Track 7- I named this EP after this track, because i felt like it summed up everything she has been through with these past relationships and how it affected her. Pretty much saying how a toxic relationship or a bad break up can kinda leave an ever lasting affect when trying to move on sometimes. Staryu - Harry Styles - Fine Line Spoiler On 3/15/2020 at 5:17 PM, Staryu said: Harry Styles - Golden Tracklist: 1. Watermelon Sugar 2. Adore You 3. Sunflower, Vol. 6 4. Canyon Moon 5. Golden 6. Lights Up I'm sick of ALL the doom and gloom happening right now so my EP is all about LOVE & LIGHT! My theme for this EP is basically summer love and free spirits. I also wanted a bit of a Fleetwood Mac vibe. I chose Golden as the title because it just goes really well with the vibe I'm going for with this EP. I chose Watermelon Sugar as the opener because it very much fits with theme I was going for, it's fun, it's summery, it feels good. Adore You and Sunflower felt like they should come next, they are both in the same vein as Watermelon Sugar, positive summer love songs. Canyon Moon has the free spirit vibe, I love the hand claps and guitar, it has a kind of retro feel, it sets up the summer evening tone I wanted for the end of the album, which is why I saved Golden and Lights Up for last. Golden just sounds like the perfect summer evening song to me, it makes me think of a summer sunset at the beach and the song itself is about a new relationship and the good feeling that comes with it. Lights Up is the fitting closer because it reminds me of like an end of the night bonfire, people singing together, and I feel like it's a hopeful song. Here's my playlist link on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3I7aY1ptof1NAQyMQnt63L?si=LlAeU92pS4iQ8AMoO2SYrw Touch It - Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? Spoiler On 3/16/2020 at 8:03 PM, Touch It said: Hide contents For my entry I decided to go with the more toned and relaxed parts of Billie's album. It's a great EP to listen to on a calm rainy day or a day that you're feeling sad. I made the songs flow nicely by starting with a super soft song and then it starts picking up for the next two songs until it slows down again for the last three songs. Throughout all these songs, the soft and relaxed theme stays even though it picks up a little after the first song. I named the title of the EP ilomilo because all of these songs lyrically have to do with the concept of ilomilo. ilomilo is a puzzle game where you had to unite two characters named ilo and milo. Billie uses this concept in her song ilomilo by describing it as a fear of separation / not being able to be with somebody that you really love since the game resolves around trying to get two characters to come together. The EP's first two songs have to do with the part of "ilomilo" where you fear that you won't able to be with somebody that you really love. 8 describes somebody who has a lot of feelings for somebody else, yet that person is showing no emotional back to the. wish you were gay has a similar concept to 8 where Billie wishes her crush was gay since he shows no interest in her at all. Both of these songs show that she wants to be with somebody else while that person shows little to no interest in her. Billie sees this person as a soulmate yet it feels impossible to ever be with this person. The next song on the EP is ilomilo which was mostly described in the paragraph above this one. Billie fears not being with the one person she loves and fears that she will end up being lonely. The next four songs on the EP describe leaving a relationship and separating from somebody that you still truly love. In when the party's over, Billie talks about having to distance herself from her significant other. She has to say goodbye to her current lover and tries to like the distance, but doesn't like it at all. The last three songs of the EP explain a story that continues from when the party's over that could be summarized in the statement "listen before I go, I love you, goodbye". Within listen before I go, Billie is leaving her lover through a much darker situation than just having distance from her lover. Instead of a normal goodbye, Billie contemplates suicide. Her lover fears that Billie ends her life and tries really hard to get her not to do it, since he would never want to lose her. The next song, i love you, explains the complicating relationship that Billie has with. Her significant other is very upset and emotional that Billie doesn't want to love him and feels like she will let him go. The EP ends with goodbye which is basically her goodbye to her significant other where she doesn't want him to leave her. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7qQsA8ki2qVvjCF5kkTlPp?si=volyQANVTgGm5ccgwfMZPA Edited March 21, 2020 by rl231

rl231 Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 @Gateau @Touch It @Staryu @Krazii @Alena @dussymob @Clueless Welcome castaways to your 13th results show! The judges have scored all of your entries out of 10, and I will now reveal their comments and scores. After I reveal the scores, I will post the final results which will include how you ranked against all castaways, and finally the overall rankings after this round. With that said, here it is… Alena - Doja Cat - Hot Pink URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 2/3 Total - 9/10 - I’m a huge fan of Doja’s “Hot Pink”, so I whole-heartedly back up your song choices! Each of them stand out on their own, but what’s important here is the order in which you placed them on your tracklist. Excellent job! I would’ve given you a perfect score on your explanation, but I felt that you got a bit lazy when it came to “Like That”, which is going to be her next big single if pushed correctly. Overall, you did a fantastic job! thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 8.5/10 - your explanation for this round is perfect. Its short but it does its thing so congrats on that! However, i feel like rules is so strong and the playlist should’ve opened with rules instead of say so even though its a bop and a smash hit rn. Rules is like THAT bitch and it worked a lot better if it was the opener. Say so could be track 3 instead. Streets is interesting tbh, i think talk dirty could replace it but its still a great song. Great job anyway! Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 3.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 7.5/10 - Your explanation for your EP was really solid and definitely gets the message across, along with your intention of why it’s arranged the way it is. However, that being said, with all of the styles of the rest of the songs, Say So - while being a whole bop - is really out of place. The other songs all have similar vibes and styles, and then Say So is this super disco bop. It’s not a bad order, but I think it could’ve been handled just a little differently. Along with Rules being the opener because it feels like it should open this. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 7.5/10 - I think by listening to her, I’ve realized I’m not a major fan haha (Say So’s great though). HOWEVER THAT IS NOT THE POINT. I think the problem here is truly cohesion. I understand why you put things specifically on the album (and the explanation was solid too), but I just thought the order and combination were off? Like I would’ve put Say So at the end and Rules at the beginning or found a way to build up to Say So. There were too many flavors and just no true direction. :/ Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 2/3 Total - 8/10 - I think that you chose the correct six tracks to highlight on this EP honestly. A lot of them capture your attention through lyrics or melody and I think this could hook ppl into listening to Doja. The overall order feels a bit strange to me, especially where you placed Streets and Cyber Sex. The flow just got thrown off there. Your explanation was somewhat hollow (especially Like That and Bottom Bitch), but it did cover the foundations. Clueless - Caroline Polachek - Pang URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - Beautiful explanation! This was my first time listening to Caroline Polachek. I’m usually a bit hesitant when listening to artists I’m not familiar with, but your explanation made me excited to hear the tracks. I love how you told a story through the songs you selected. It wasn’t just a story in written format, it was also a story I could hear through your song selections. Hiciste un trabajo fantástico my friend! FYI,I fell in love with “Hit Me Where It Hurts”! It’s been added to my playlist. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9.5/10 - another amazing entry for you! Your explanation really sold it tbh and also you did choose the 7 best tracks from the album whew. the only problem i have is that the transition between i give up and so hot you hurt my feelings is kinda weird and doesnt really go well together. Also, about the explanation, even though many songs dont have the meaning that you wanted it to do, you explained and twisted it very well so good job on that. Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9/10 - Damn bitch, we going essay writing competition huh? Anyway, jokes aside, this was a really solid and well-thought-out entry. Aside from a minor setback (i agree with Baby Z, the transition between I Give Up and So Hot is… strange, to say the least), this flows really really well together. The styles of the songs are all very similar and you can tell they weren’t just thrown together - also I stan concepts and you had a nice one. The cover is also plain but a SLAY. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - Can I say? Thank you for no essay! The explanation was A+, and I love the story. After listening to the EP, I thought that it flowed pretty well and just made sense, so well done. Also, Door is THE highlight, not even sorry. Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9.5/10 - You picked basically all of my favorites on this album UGH talent. I really loved the story that you crafted here - it makes a lot of sense and I greatly appreciate the use of lyrics to support your claims of each track’s meaning! The EP is very cohesive and is in a really good order IMO… except “I Give Up” as the opener just doesn’t feel like the greatest choice. That is really my only complaint though - you knocked it out of the park! Door fantastic finale tbh and the EP cover is a slay.3 Dussymob - Halsey - Manic URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9/10 - Although I appreciate how creative you got with your explanation, I wish there was more of an in-depth analysis of each track and why you placed them in this specific order. I understand that it’s implied with the track titles and how they’re mentioned in your story, but as someone who is not familiar with the album, an in-depth analysis of each track would’ve helped me further appreciate the order in which you placed them. Speaking of the order, the tracks transitioned very well sonically, but I had a hard time making a connection as it lacked the references that I got with the previous entries explanations. References that helped me further understand the story being told. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - never thought i’d see the day that i gave mister my favorite straight a 10. You really did that in this round tbh. All the songs are the best from the album for sure and it flows very well together surprisingly, cause like i didnt think finally/beautiful stranger could come after 3am and the transition between them is great. For your explanation part, it is very interesting because you chose to tell a story instead and you did it very well. Congrats dussy! Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - See, it’s times like this i am SO MAD Nightmare is not on the album. This concept would’ve made it a nice home and it would’ve just meshed well in here somewhere. Now, you’re arrangement of the tracklist was very interesting (3am to beautiful stranger; you should be sad to without me) but they work well given how manic this concept still is (pun intended). I loved your explanation, your concept - all of it. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9/10 - Thank god it’s an album I’ve actually listened to. First off, your explanation is incredibly strong, and I’m a sucker for someone that incorporates a song or quote into a paragraph. I think the primary problem (but it’s small) was with the tracklist and the flow of songs. I actually disagree with baby z here with the transition between 3am and finally // beautiful stranger; it felt very jarring.I would’ve slowly built out the guitar songs and then ended with a powerful song, but with your explanation, I get why you did it, so it’s why I didn’t give you a perfect score. Otherwise, this probably is your strongest entry in this game ever. Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9/10 - I think that you definitely chose the correct songs to highlight on this album. The songs you cut are very weak in comparison. The EP overall is very cohesive, but I was caught off guard by the structure of the first half. 3 AM is a cool intro but the transition to Finally was sudden… I also am not certain about the placement of I Hate Everybody. I really liked the concept behind everything! If you had justified the reasoning behind your tracks a bit more, I think it would have been a perfect 3/3. Gateau - Tove Lo - Sunshine Kitty URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9.5/10 - Wow! This EP is full of bops. I am loving every track I’ve heard. Your explanation is on point, and I love how you connected it to your journey here on Survivor, but girl what happened to the formatting?! I had such a hard time reading through it, had to pause a few times to highlight certain parts of your explanation to fully digest the details lol! Nonetheless, you did a great job with this EP. I downloaded her album, so props to you Gateau. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - AHHHHH first of all, i freaking love your explanation and your story! you did that!! So emotional! Again, all the songs you chose def are the best from the album. Bad as the boys really works so well and it also flows well with other songs. In fact, every song flows together beautifully. I think really don’t like u could be in batb’s place but this is still great and thats why you get a 10 from me. Also, your explanation makes my eyes hurt. reading these long text in the black background is not good for your health ATRL where is the light theme? Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9.5/10 - That explanation… I… I’m honestly shook. That was so much more detailed, intricate - it was this journey of chaos that definitely represents this game, and when you list it out the way you did, i can definitely see why you applied this the way you did. I think bad as the boys could’ve been subbed out with different songs (really don’t like u is a good one, mistaken if u really wanna go with scorned, and even come undone cus it unnerves you and so forth). This is a really solid entry though. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - I have HIGH expectations for this one. It’s a banger of an album...and you didn’t disappoint. The explanation is a concept and, yet, incredibly strong; I appreciated that you linked the songs to your experience in the game. I will say though, I was very sad that Stay Over wasn’t on here, as I think it’s one of the best songs on the album, but I think it’s fine to not include on here conceptually. That being said, you hti everything, flow and whatnot, so you get the 10. Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - First of all, I’m v mad that Stay Over did not make the cut. However, the EP concept that you put together has incredibly strong songs and all of them are cohesive and flow well together. Your explanation is extremely creative and genuine! I am actually so impressed that you were able to order the tracks in a way that made sense for your story yet still had a great flow sonically! That is not easy to do at all and that really sends this EP to the next level for me. Krazii - Nina Nesbitt - The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4.5/6 Explanation - 2/3 Total - 7.5/10 - She has a lovely voice and a few dope tracks! Your explanation was on point as far as telling us why you chose each song for this EP, but in my opinion there was a slight disconnect between the story you told and the order of the tracks you selected. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 8/10 - hmm for you, the explanation is great like others but i feel like all the songs are all over the place. The flow isnt there in my opinion, thats why you got this scores from me. Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 3/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 7/10 - Your explanations for all of this is very good, a lot of detail put into it, but my issue with this is the arrangement of the tracks. I think it could’ve been handled a lot better than it was as the songs feel like they were thrown together with no attention of how they’d actually sound together. The concept is good, but the arrangement needs to be changed to make it flow a lot better, imo. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 7.5/10 - The explanation is solid (but could definitely be more concise and less wordy), but the problem is flow and cohesion. There’s a lot of flavors but not necessarily a thread sonically, which is essentially what the others are saying. If it flowed better, it would’ve definitely benefited you. Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 4.5/6 Explanation - 2/3 Total - 7.5/10 - Sacred and Empire robbed but that’s okay! I’m glad you kept Love Letter<3 Honestly I enjoyed all of the songs that you selected… was it the most cohesive EP though? At times, the ordering felt very random. I liked the first three songs being together but IDK if they were the best options to lead the EP with. The explanation was solid from a story perspective, but could have been a bit more clear... some more discussion of the sonics would have been helpful. Staryu - Harry Styles - Fine Line URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9.5/10 - LOVE the opening track Ms. Staryu and after reading your explanation and the feeling/emotion you were trying to depict with this EP, it was very fitting as the first track! Your explanation is rather short and straight to the point, which works, but I feel like you could’ve done a bit more with the closing sentence. It just felt very anticlimactic considering how strong your opening sentence was. Either way, fantastic job. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - whew issa mood issa vibe issa look issa match i enjoy this ep a lot. Love the vibes throughout the ep, perfect for summer! Yours is probably my favorite ep from this round tbh. Your explanation is very short compared to others but its straight to the point and i understand why you chose these tracks. Amazing job staryu! (also, please tell charlie i love her) x Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 10/10 - Bitch you better STAN Fleetwood Mac!!! I like that you tried to go for this super light and summery vibe with all the… darkness outside right now. This is very much needed right now. Your explanation was very solid and we have to stan. The track arrangement >>>. It was very flowy, summery and just altogether well-put-together. I love it. You made very very many points. Also screaming at the Charlie comment from Baby Z. Do the same for me <333. rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9/10 - I listened to the album when it first came out, and it was quite solid if not a little too chill. I think your explanation was brief but concise, which I appreciate after all of the essays (so many essays). However, you could’ve gone deeper, especially since you gave essentially the same explanation for Adore You and Sunflower. I would’ve also switched out Lights Up for Golden as the ender tbh, but otherwise, good job! Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 6/6 Explanation - 2.5/3 Total - 9.5/10 - I think the tracklist is really cohesive and perfectly fits your theme! The explanation felt as if you were rushing over a few of the tracks. If you had expanded on the summer story a bit more, especially with Watermelon Sugar, Adore You, and Sunflower, I think you could have gotten this up to a 10. Ugh now I’m thinking of a cute concept like a summer day from sunrise to sunset. Regardless, good work! Touch It - Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? URBAN Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9/10 - The way this EP was set up was perfect for the current mood I’m in. Love your explanation, especially the reference to ilo and milo. The one slightly negative thing I will say, is that at one point some of the tracks started to sound the same. Other than that, it was very chill and laid back. thecptz Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9/10 - these selections are amazing, well apart from 8 and goodbye. And you supposed to pick the best from the album so i was very surprised to see 8 and goodbye since 8 is panned and goodbye is kinda just.. there. But you did very well cause the vibe throughout the ep is so amazing. i’m gonna cry now! Your explanation is amazing as always. I think this is the best entry, post-merge, from you. such a shame about those 2 songs because you could’ve gotten a 10 from me. Welp. but great job nick Astronomy Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9.5/10 - Since it’s actually really gloomy and about to rain at my house, this is the best thing i could listen to out of all of these. It really captures the essence that i’m being exposed to fff. This is a very solid set, i like the vibes of it more than anything - i think my only issue with this is that i don’t really care for listen before i go. It’s just kinda in the middle for me, and i’m just meh about it. Kinda always have been FFF. i’m also super psyched to not see the giant smash singles in here because thank god. But this was really nice<3 rl231 Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5.5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9.5/10 - Let me preface by saying that, while I’m not a major Billie fan in the slightest and was upset you left off “bury a friend” or “bad guy,” I think your explanation is absolutely stellar. I think your entry was almost perfect, but I wish you would’ve chosen something other than 8 as the opener, as I think your entry just could’ve been stronger. Otherwise, I like Billie Eilish a little more now! Element Artist Name + EP Title - 0.5/0.5 Cover Art - 0.5/0.5 Tracklist - 5/6 Explanation - 3/3 Total - 9/10 - I really appreciated the risk that you took in going with the softer songs! You definitely have to be in a ~mood~ to listen to all of this and absorb it. I think that it bordered on getting a bit monotone towards the end, so I really was missing songs like Bad Guy at that point. Cohesive for sure. The explanation was nicely done and I liked that you used ilomilo as kind of the nucleus of the concept and tracklist! Final results coming up.

Here are some tribal council discussion questions for you to answer in the thread. If you do not answer your question, your vote will not count. EVERYONE: Compare the person alphabetically below you to one song from your album (full album, not just the EP) this round and explain why. Touch It will do this for Alena. @Alena- Looking at the members of the jury so far, what do you think their general perception of you is? @clueless - Now that Not Like the Movies is out of the game, you have the highest overall average. Do you think that the other players will find this threatening? What do you think people should be focusing on as a target at this point in the game -- challenge skills, social prowess, or a strategic mind? @dussymob- Are the people in this season of ATRL Survivor playing to win, or playing to make it to a certain placement? @Gateau- Congratulations on winning your first immunity during the merge! Do you think this was necessary for you at this point in the game? If yes, do you think you have the potential to survive much longer after this? @Krazii- Since Disruptive's blindside, we have seen five people from Galatea 2.0 leave back to back. Does this trend concern you as a member of that swapped tribe? Or do you think the dynamics will shift? @Staryu- In Survivor, the final seven vote is historically one of the common opportunities for blindsides and power shakeups. Are you expecting something exciting to happen at this tribal council? @Touch It - You were a member of the infamous Telesto 2.0, which now has the majority of people left in the game. What is it like going from the tribe that always lost to one that has not had anyone go home since the top 13? As always, please use the parchment below to cast your votes. Your votes and any item plays are due at 9 PM EDT on Saturday, March 21st. You can not vote for Gateau. Edited March 21, 2020 by rl231
