potent Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) I think we have a few of these in similar spots. Joy is such a great song, I wasn't expecting Bastille to come for me like that HDYS is a bop and a great change of sound for Sam Edited December 11, 2019 by potent

ARTPØP Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) #10 NOTD ft. Georgia Ku & Captain Cuts - "So Close" Quote One of my favorite bops of the year! This song is miserably underrated. The few times I heard it on the radio I was in awe. The lyrics are kinda sad but paired with the edm production it makes for a cute dancy song. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #9 King Princess - "P*ssy Is God" Quote King Princess is probably my favorite new artist of the past year or so. Her music is just so infectious and groovy it hurts. I will say that her Make My Bed EP was better than her recent debut effort, however, this song is her magnum opus for me. I could never envisioning this song being popular with the GP, but we love a groovy disco-esque bop! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #8 Halsey - "Nightmare" Quote Slay me raw Ashley! Hands down one of the best songs of the entire year. We love an emo pop screamer anthem! The fact that this wasn't a #1 smasher is literally something I can't wrap my brain around. I hope she at least serves one more of these on Manic, but she probably won't. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #7 Zara Larsson - "All The Time" Quote Definitely one of the absolute best pop songs of the year, and possibly ever (in my opinion). The melody is beyond infectious and it has the perfect blend of discoish production, yet is such a refreshing summery jam! Screw you US pop radio for having no taste! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #6 Halsey - "Without Me" Quote This has honestly been a huge bop since it's release later last year. I'm happy that this give Halsey one of the biggest hits ever (#12 on the decade chart ) As overplayed as this might be, I will still jam along to it when it comes on. I really haven't gotten tired of it tbh Edited December 12, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) #5 Zara Larsson - "Ruin My Life" Quote Zara really came through with the bops this past year. Hearing her sing this live was an amazing experience! Could get a bit repetitive but nonetheless a great pop jam. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #4 Katy Perry - "Never Really Over" Quote Who knew KP would save pop music in 2019 with this beast? This song hits me so hard, it's just so so good. Hate Katy all you want, I could never deny my love for this song. One of the best songs of the year and such a blast singing along to! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #3 Carly Rae Jepsen - "Now That I Found You" Quote Carly Rae blessed my entire 2019 with the gift that was Dedicated. This song is just so feel good and boppy that it's simply so hard not to love. I'd hear it all the time in a Target commercial and it made me sad that Carly isn't smashing the globe rn with her bops. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #2 Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - "Shallow" Quote Seeing Gaga at #1 again on the Hot 100 this year made my inner 8th grade self come alive. This song and movie really deserved all the fame and glory it got. Haters can stay mad. Ok gags where's LG6? ..... WE'RE WAITING! Edited December 12, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #1 Ava Max "Sweet But Psycho" Quote Hate this song all you want and judge me all you want, I don't care. For me, this was hands down the best pop song of the past year. This song may be serving '09 Gaga, but I am just a lil gay boy who loves his basic pop bops. Ava Max really brought the pop I needed to find in 2019 and I was living for it! It became one of the longest running #1s on my chart spending 12 weeks atop and 30 weeks in my top ten. I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing this song, it's just a bop I'll love for forever. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Edited December 12, 2019 by ARTPØP

Spartak92 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Sorry, nothing on this set :/ But it's nice to see some Bastille here they are so underrated
Lazuli Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 nightmare wow the zara slayage, but all the time should be higher than ruin my life! never really over, now that i found you, shallow
Remmy Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Without Me is decent but definitely didn't deserve to be her biggest hit. Now as for Nightmare... that SHOULD'VE been her biggest hit! Ruin My Life P*ssy Is God + All the Time Both are probably their best singles. The 1-2-3 punch of Never Really Over, NTIFY & Shallow ...but then we get to one of my least favorite songs of the year Oh well. Pretty solid top 10 overall
Jet Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Ruin My Life was kind of a disappointment for me, but All The Time is a smash NRO and WM slaying SBP is super dated but I'm not even gonna lie, it's extremely catchy and definitely a huge guilty pleasure of mine
TheWayWeWere Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Nightmare was cute, but a bit tiring Without Me on the other side Never Really Over NTIFY is a bop Shallow legend
JGibson Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Shallow + Never Really Over + Nightmare + Without Me
potent Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) Shallow the best from this set Now That I Found You So Close and All the Time are cute bops but I personally wouldn’t have put them nearly so high. Edited December 13, 2019 by potent
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 13, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 13, 2019 SBP is great, but not #1 worthy. Slay with Shallow and NRO
Moonlightbae Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 you really ruined it with SBP as #1 All The Time and Ruin My Life tho where is Don't Worry Bout Me? Nightmare, Without Me, Shallow, Now That I Found You, great songs
