ARTPØP Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 (edited) Hello hunties! As I do every year, I will be doing my year end chart listings. It's been a pretty great year for pop music if you ask me, lots of amazing releases from major pop queens! I have 3 different countdowns I'll be doing over here (as well as my decade end countdown in the other section hehe). As I do every year, my top 100 singles of the year have been calculated based chart performance on my weekly Hot 40 chart. You can check out my Hot 40 website here. I've been updating it weekly since 2011! Alongside my top 100 singles, I will be doing my top 10 albums and top 50 songs of 2019 hehe My top 50 songs are songs that were either album tracks, or didn't chart on my Hot 40 chart. I will make sure to update everything in the OP as I go along. Hope you all check it out and enjoy the lovely bops I've been listening to throughout 2019! xo ✨✨FULL RECAP POSTED BELOW!!!!✨✨ Edited December 22, 2019 by ARTPØP

ARTPØP Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 (edited) #100 Harry Styles - "Lights Up" Quote Ugh the Sex God himself returned in the later half of 2019 with this amazing indie pop bop. I like this so much more than anything he ever released before, and the la-la-la's send me every time. And don't get me started on the video.... ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #99 Miley Cyrus - "Slide Away" Quote Miley served a slew of amazing bops this year, including this one right here. This song is definitely a bit more emotional, however it has a really cool vibe to it. I always get lost in the production at the end. A good song to listen to if you're relaxing on the beach somewhere. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #98 Dua Lipa - "Don't Start Now" Quote My QUEEN served such an amazing bop and saved the end of 2019! This nu-disco masterpiece has been slaying my existence the past couple of weeks and continues to do so! Could this be top 10 on my 2020 list? Stay tuned ;) Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
potent Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Lights Up and Dont Start Now are two of my favorite songs right now Slide Away is fine, but I wasn't really checking for it
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #97 5 Seconds of Summer - "Youngblood" Quote This was one of my most favorite bops of 2018, that had enough points in 2019 to make another appearance on this year's chart! So happy for them to see such big mainstream success in the US. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #96 Maty Noyes - "Spiraling Down" Quote Another one I primarily listened to in 2018. Maty is severely underrated, if you ask me! Her 2018 EP was amazing, including the bop "New Friends." ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #95 Khalid - "Talk" Quote Ahh yes, one of the most overplayed radio hits of 2019. However, there's no denying that this is a bop. I really enjoy the colors Khalid used in the video, it makes it very appealing. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #94 Katy Perry - "Harleys In Hawaii" Quote Ngl, Katy served some great bops this past year. Harleys In Hawaii didn't deserve to flop, however the song does remind me of the summertime. I think it would've been a smarter move releasing this in maybe May or June, opposed to October. I could've seen it on Spotify's summer playlists and maybe it would've served a better chance. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #93 Ellie Goulding - "Flux" Quote A very touching & heartfelt ballad released by Miss Ellie, who still needs to stop f***ing around and get to releasing a new album already. I will say that the way she sings the "I wanna know" part of the song is rather irritating, other wise a very cute song. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #92 Benny Blanco, Halsey & Khalid - "Eastside" Quote Another one of my favorites from 2018 that got enough points from this year to land on this countdown. Ngl, I really can't listen to this song that much anymore, but I can appreciate that it's a feel-good bop. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #91 LSD - "Audio" Quote LSD really let me down with their "full-length" album this year. This power trio had so much promise, as indicated by this banger. I really wish we could've been bumping this on the radio this past year instead of OTR. Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #90 Twenty One Pilots - "My Blood" Quote I'm so sad that 21P couldn't get a hit out of their last album. I think radio was willing to be here for them, but the GP wasn't. This song is a bop, the type of indie pop I love. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #89 LSD - "Genius" Quote Again another LSD bop that deserved better! I've been bopping to this one for a while now. I love the way that Labrinth and Sia's voices blend together to serve bop after bop! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #88 Lady Gaga - "Always Remember Us This Way" Quote A Star Is Born served the bops and the tearjerkers. This song deserved to smash just like Shallow did. One of Gaga's absolute best! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #87 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey - "Don't Call Me Angel" Quote When I first heard that Ariana, Miley & Lana were collabing on a track I was shook. Ngl, this was kind of a let down. I do like the song and I find the production to be the catchiest part for me. However, I wish the song was more iconic and could've smashed harder. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #86 Ava Max - "So Am I" Quote Hate this song all you want, it is what it is. It's nothing more than a cute pop song. Is it fantastic? Absolutely not. Is it boppy? Yes. It served it's purpose as a cute lil single. Although, should've been better following the monster hit that was SBP. Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #85 Ashley O - "On A Roll" Quote Miley or shall I say "Ashley O" really brought me back to the Hannah Montana days with this bop! Call it basic, I think it's absolutely great. I never watch Black Mirror, however, I watched this episode to see Miley in all her glory. I also find it really cool how this song is a rehash of the Nine Inch Nails song "Head In A Hole." ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #84 The Chainsmokers ft. Bebe Rexha - "Call You Mine" Quote Tbh, this is a very underrated bop. I'm lowkey mad that it only got to #21 on my personal chart. I bop to it more now than before. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #83 blackbear - "Hot Girl Bummer" Quote This song very recently took me by surprise. I think blackbear's music is honestly really catchy and this song is just so fun to scream along to in the car. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #82 Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez, J Balvin & Tainy - "I Can't Get Enough" Quote Initially, I really didn't like this song. However, after a few listens I realized I was sleeping on a bop! For me, the production absolutely makes the song. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #81 Post Malone - "Circles" Quote Posty wasn't messing around with the Hollywood's Bleeding era. This is hands down my favorite single of his, and I'm so happy that it's currently #1. It's actually his first top ten single on my personal chart! Even my mom loves it. ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #80 Charli XCX & Christine and the Queens - "Gone" Quote Charli and Christine really weren't messing around with this song. I heavily relate to the lyrics: "I feel so unstable, f***in hate these people." PREACH ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #79 Shawn Mendes - "Lost In Japan" Quote I think Shawn is definitely talented but his music isn't really for me. This is definitely one of my favorites from him, I like the chill vibes it brings. Almost could be a JT song. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #78 Ed Sheeran ft. Chance & PnB Rock - "Cross Me" Quote Ed's collaboration album this year honestly served some cute bops. I didn't like this song at first, but it honestly grew on me. It has a good vibe to it. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #77 Saweetie - "My Type" Quote When I first heard this song I was like what on earth is this garbage?!?! But after a few more listens, I can't hear this song and not shake my ass. BOP! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #76 Avril Lavigne - "Head Above Water" Quote Queen Avril returned hard at the end of 2018 with this powerhouse Christian pop ballad. I was very underwhelmed by her new album, but this song still never fails to please me. Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #75 Sam Smith & Normani - "Dancing With A Stranger" Quote Sam and Normani definitely came serving pop gold with this one! Too bad that radio really ruined this one for me :/ ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #74 Maren Morris - "The Bones" Quote Maren has been one of my recent obsessions, and this song is just too good for words. Definitely one of my most favorite songs of the last quarter of the year. <3 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #73 Taylor Swift - "Lover" Quote This song definitely serves a classic Taylor Swift sound to it. A very cute, whimsical holiday-esque love song. The Shawn remix is cute too! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #72 David Guetta ft. Anne-Marie - "Dont Leave Me Alone" Quote Generic? Yes. Amazing bop? Hell yes. Anne-Marie served hella bops throughout 2018, and this is one that lingered into my 2019 chart too. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #71 Ed Sheeran & Travis Scott - "Antisocial" Quote This song for sure has one of the best productions of the year for me. The beat mixed with the fast-paced chorus makes for a great summer pre-game banger. Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #70 King Princess - "Cheap Queen" Quote King Princess has quickly become one of my most favorite new artists out there. Her "Make My Bed" EP was absolutely flawless, so my anticipation for her debut album was immense. Ngl, I was a little let down by it, but this one definitely serves. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #69 Kygo & Rita Ora - "Carry On" Quote Rita Ora and Kygo served this cute lil dance bop for the Detective Pikachu movie. Still waiting for Rita to get her major US hit tho.... ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #68 Tove Lo - "Sweettalk My Heart" Quote One of my absolute favorite songs from the "Sunshine Kitty" album. Tove never fails to serve pop earworms that make me shake my ass! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #67 The Chainsmokers ft. Kelsea Ballerini - "This Feeling" Quote It's interesting to me how after 2016/2017, The Chainsmokers just can't seem to get a hit anymore. This song is honestly really cute, should've been bigger! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #66 Zedd & Katy Perry - "365" Quote Like I said, Katy put out several bops this year. This song is undeniably catchy and the video is creepy, yet gives the song a cool story. Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ARTPØP Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) #65 Lana Del Rey - "Doin' Time" Quote Lana really came through with this cover of the classic Sublime song. I almost like it more than the original, a perfect summer jam that never gets old. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #64 Lovelytheband - "Broken" Quote I got to see lovelytheband live earlier this year and that definitely made my love for this song grow stronger. Just a cute lil indie pop bop that saw some cool mainstream success. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #63 Rita Ora & Liam Payne - "For You" Quote I think this is one of the best pop singles that was released in 2018. Part of me wishes it was entirely Rita's song tho ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #62 Alessia Cara - "Trust My Lonely" Quote I hate that ATRL deems Alessia a flop now because she's no longer getting chart hits. Hit or not, this song knocks! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #61 Halsey - "Graveyard" Quote For me, Halsey released bop after bop this year! I love the emotion in this song and I think that her gasp during the bridge is one of the best parts. Also loved seeing Sydney Sweeney from Euphoria in the video Edited December 6, 2019 by ARTPØP
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 6, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 6, 2019 doin time a great cover
Moonlightbae Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Gone so low Graveyard, Doin’ Time, 365, Sweettalk My Heart, Carry On, Lover and DWAS are all some of my faves too
potent Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Even though DWAS was overplayed it's still a great song for me Good to see Broken getting some recognition too.
