Speezy Posted November 14, 2019 Author Posted November 14, 2019 @fiercE@URBAN @Sabbath #TeamRealLove - "Love In A Millennial World" Spotify Playlist: Love In A Millennial World Spoiler Description: Love in a Millennial World defines what it means to fall in love in today's day and age. When dating, we're no longer settling for our high school sweethearts. Instead, we're looking to settle down with someone who wants to build a foundation. A foundation that will bring us long-term success, happiness, and love (as depicted in the order of the tracks below). Track 1 | Success: Queen / We Are the Champions - Big or small, wins are always embraced! A couple that's successful together, celebrates their wins together. Track 2 | Fun: Måns Zelmerlöw / Live While We're Alive - Success means nothing if we can't enjoy life while living the best versions of ourselves together. Track 3 | Falling in Love: Keyshia Cole / Heaven Sent - Love doesn't happen overnight, we fall in love with our significant others each and every day. By reminding them how much they mean to us, we build unbreakable bonds.
Speezy Posted November 14, 2019 Author Posted November 14, 2019 @LCTV @Touch It @EriKills @Not Like The Movies #TeamEgo - "You, Me & The Beach” Falling In Love: Paramore - The Only Exception Spoiler The Only Exception is a beautiful example of the " Falling In Love " theme. Hayley starts out the song by remembering events from her past that built up a guard around love being something that will "never last". So she's naturally thinking she'll never find it and is hesitant. But once she met "the one" - " And I'm on my way to believing. Oh I'm on my way to believing." the moments of doubt trickle away and she begins falling in love. Partying: Beyonce - Party (feat. J Cole) Spoiler For the track about party/fun, we selected "Party" by Beyonce ft J Cole. This song is a funky, soul-inspired mid-tempo R&B fun song. The instrumentation utilized some synths, keyboard tones and drums making the beat of the song very catchy to dance to at a party. It oozes fun and party vibes. The lyrical content expresses one wanting to have fun at a party with the person who you adore. It reflects Beyonce wanting to party with her one true love with some sexual undertones. This song is undoubtedly very fitting of the theme as it reflects both partying and having a good time with your partner. For example in the lyrics, " Music knocking 'til the morning light" , "Cause we like to party!" and " So tonight, I'll do it every way, Speakers knocking 'til the morning light". The infectious rhythmic instrumental combined with the fun lyrics, display that 'Party' was the ideal choice for this theme. Relaxing: Natalia Kills - Everything Was Beautiful Spoiler For Relaxing we have Natalia/Cruel Youth's "Everything Was Beautiful". A chill, psychedelic pop record, the song starts with a soothing, trance-like instrumental. She then comes in with lyrics blatantly talking about drug use. Nothing says relaxation like an popping an oxycontin (the EP, +30MG is named after the drug). She then gives a rambling monologue (we'll blame the oxy), and ends the song chanting "everything was beautiful", further delving into the relaxing, almost "calm before the storm" vibes. Reminiscing as well, something you often do when relaxing on a beach tbh! A song that's relaxing without being boring, loves it. Success: The Weeknd - Starboy Spoiler Starboy is a great song to fit into the theme of success. The song explains The Weeknd's realization of going from an irrelevant Canadian artist to a mainstream Billboard artist. Throughout the first verse he talks about his two cars which were priced 1.2 million dollars and 530k dollars. He then goes on to say "made your whole year in a week too, yah". While bragging about his success with money he also brags about his "main bitch" which was Bella Hadid at the time, showing that he also had success in his relationship life. While the chorus is short, it sarcastically explains how the world turned him into a successful artist, making him one of the biggest musicians on the planet. The second verse continues to use the recurring theme of success by saying that many artists are now trying to test him due to the jealously of his fame. He continues to brag about his luxury cars and even calls himself a king. In verse 3, he explains that he was able to buy his mother a brand new house and a new luxurious car. Due to his financial success, he was able to make him and his mother both live lavishly. The Weeknd proves his success throughout the entire song by showing off his luxurious items and talking about his success on becoming a huge artist in the music industry I made them a quick Spotify playlist for those wanting to stay on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1WwQdGNh1HuUhGSjolhQ4H
Speezy Posted November 14, 2019 Author Posted November 14, 2019 #TeamVibez - "REDAMANCY" @kipperskipper @Aiko.@Noah @thecptz [spotify playlist] Our playlist is setup as a storyline in the chronological order of a relationship. It's titled Redamancy, which is the act of loving something/someone back, and in this case, you're trying to love a person back but in the end, all that matters is that you love yourself back. FALLING IN LOVE We start our playlist with I Think He Knows by Taylor Swift as the first song because it’s about the early stages of a relationship and falling in love. SUCCESS Successful by Ariana Grande is the second song in our story because it can be interpreted as celebrating both the romantic successes in the relationship as it progresses, as well as the singer’s individual financial successes. PARTY & FUN Price Tag by Jessie J is the third song in our story because it shows signs of a turning point in the relationship and has a juxtaposing message from the previous song; with this one being about just wanting to party and not think about money, which can lead to conflicts in a relationship. RELAXING Doin' Time by Lana Del Rey is the final song in our story because it marks the end of the relationship with the singer realizing the negative aspects of it and now just wanting to relax with her friends, free from the stresses of the relationship.
Speezy Posted November 14, 2019 Author Posted November 14, 2019 #TeamLiarLiar - "#BeautifulSummer" #Beautiful / Falling In Love: We've put #Beautiful the first because it has a great summery carefree vibe that goes very well with the photo. I can see the couple chilling and enjoying each other while jamming to it If I'm Dancing / Partying: After a long hot day on a beach, the couple goes to a dancefloor to take over it. We all know they are gonna kill it when If I'm Dancing is playing How High / Success: There's a moment sometimes when in the midst of fun you suddenly get serious or philosophical and the questions that Madonna raises in How High fit perfectly well. This is the last song on the playlist because it's kinda opposing to the summery vibe of the first song: if #Beautiful is daytime, then How High it nighttime @Black Canary @Overprotected @bestfiction
