Not to mention Mariah is literally the reason BB put a minimum for the price of a song on iTunes to count for their chart

No, actually this was due to Lady Gaga and her $1 Born This Way.

I just checked and Nas Maraj stopped releasing remixes and random videos for OTR. The BTS remix is not discounted anymore and ready to free fall. The other remixes are falling too.

I had hoped that Lil Nas X would have put another discount on all five of OTR's downloads. Maybe he has decided 18 weeks was enough.

WOW! Tool, a hard rock to borderline Metal group has flooded the ITunes top 100 downloads chart! This won't last for forever though.

I wonder if one of their old songs will chart on the hot 100 based on sales/streams

They will have a great spotify update tomorrow

Why is Tool charting? Did someone from the band die or did it go viral in some Netflix show?

I really hope he blocks Ariana. I wouldn't mind my girl getting another #1, but not with that song. :deadbanana:

They made their music available for download and streaming. They are releasing their new album at the end of the month, the first since 2006, and they must have realized 2019's music business is completely different from the one they were familiar with.

I meant Hot 100. Because of WBT, they made $0.39 the minimum.

Born This Way and Justin Bieber is the cause for B200

does anyone know if the Drake songs can chart? yeah they're old but none of them were officially released...

I need his best song, Dreams Money Can Buy, to get a #1 debut :oh:

I heard Boyfriend on YT & Radio, it sounds very meh. I think it’ll get the #1 debut tho. After that Bad Guy might hopefully get a week at #1(probably not at this point tbh ?) Then Señorita & Truth Hurts will dominate the fall maybe Rodeo & Panini

it made a meh debut on Spotify and started bleeding on iTunes so i guess week 19 for OTR is possible now.

Thank you for that clarification. I wish that ITunes would've offered $0.39 as a minimum purchase option. Sales would've lasted a little longer. Some of the other download websites did so, I think Amazon did. But ITunes never sold songs for less than $0.69.

Yeah, some artists left money on the table until too late. Had Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" been released on ITunes in 2008 instead of years later, he would've had a #1 hit for at least 2-3 wks.

ASL is/was probably the only song, and likely to remain that only song forever, to ever start at Rock quadrant (Active, Alternative, Heritage, AND AAA), and THEN move to T 40, HAC, AC, AND even Country.

There were two other artists who remade ASL and actually each got at least 1 wk in the H 100 T 20. Instead, Rock peaked at #3 on airplay but WAY down at #23 on the H 100.

Billboard would require the songs to reach #50 or higher to count for debuted. Boys In The Hood had never charted on the Hot 100, nor did many, if any, of NWA's other songs. Still, BB looked at Hood as recurrent. Its performance in its second week was strong enough for the H 100 but not the T 50. But, BB moved Hood to RC after its only T 50 wk.

I think he should've made an Alternative/Rock remix too. Then again, which artist would have agreed to do so?  Maybe he DID try.  The artist(s) might have turned down the request because they know that OTR fad won't be there much longer, but their name WOULD be attached to OTR forever.

well, Blondie already covered it...

ariana already rehashing a song she put out not even a smooth year ago.
