By this logic, she's already had 7 #1 debuts then because DC's last album debuted at #1.

No, it will end with this album. Gaga's album had her name on it. The Carters didn't, so it's not a Beyoncé album. But this one is

Well, considering the Hive was adamant that Bey was the sole reason Ed got a #1 with Perfect Duet: yes.

That’s because Gaga’s joint albums were still credited to her name, while EIL is credited to The Carters. counting EIL as a Bey album would be like counting Destinys Child albums as hers too.

but the hive DOES count them as bey's numbers

Her solo streak is over, I can’t believe she’s gonna get blocked again.

So this will end her streak of #1 albums?

The fact this and EIL didn't even get blocked by moderately big albums makes the #2s so much worse gfjfk :deadbanana:

it's noted as soundtrack as much as Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records on Wikipedia

first day I checked the wiki page for Beyonce, to look for the OST's performers, The Gift was right under Lemonade in the Studio albums sections while the Soundtrack albums wasn't there :dies:

Aside from the snippet of Spirit the music isn't in the film or even the end credits. This is certainly a flop but the success of TLK should be more reflected in its official soundtrack then in The Gift.

The music on the album isn't the issue. It has so few streams, people clearly have not even listened to it.

That’s not the point I was making.

Just because TLK is based in Africa, doesn’t mean it makes sense to make a TLK-themed afrobeats album :psyduck: if anything it feels like Bey wanted to experiment with afrobeats and TLK was the perfect excuse/reason to do so without risking it all and doing it for a “real” Beyonce album. This is about what she wanted, not TLK.

No one asked for it because they thought there would be enough Beyoncé tracks on the official soundtrack... why is she only featured on 2 songs (and barely on one of them)? It’s a waste this is so messy. Maybe they weren’t happy with the sound she was going for so she said **** it I’ll do it myself :michael:

But the soundtrack wasn’t about her or the music she wanted to make... :rip: this is my entire point. All this extra Beyonce stuff (besides Spirit) makes no sense. All of the hype was ultimately centered around TLK, and people didn’t want the soundtrack either way. They wanted a dose of nostalgia and nothing more.
