Her best option is to release Girl Gang, it has hit potential. Set is too corny.

I love Ciara but I'm not surprised.  This album needed to be released when Level Up was blowing up/trending.  Instead, all the momentum she had died because all the other singles were DOA.

I doubt she cares though because she's still winning in life overall. :michael:

She should’ve released the album when Level Up was still a thing :michael:

I really loved her but this album is such a letdown.

I am a bit confused though.

Lil Uzi’s album is at #50. Not charting on iTunes and 177 on Apple Music.

Ciara peaked at #2 on iTunes and #19 on Apple Music :rip:

Singles count towards chart sales, not just whole albums.

single streams are packaged as album sales. Sanguine Paradise is buoying his album sales probably

It's what she deserves for the messy physical release. She really needs a major label for this reason

And it would've performed a lot better had she released it right after Level Up. Her team is a mess

It was expected, the album release was a huge mess. It had a bad start, it all should have started as Level Up gettin' a single treatment. Her label sucks.

She's living her best life anyway !

That awkward moment when you think the people living vicariously through your marriage care about your music. Her promo was awful, didn't even know she dropped until 2 days ago.

Deserved. Album is bad and she’s whitewashed and phoney so her primary base of black women stopped ****ing with her.

Inb4 her next album in 4 years is full pop LOL.

She deserves better, Level Up could’ve build this album to top 40 at least. :rip:

She charted even lower than Basic Instinct?  :deadbanana:

Goodies  #3

Ciara: The Evolution #1

Fantasy Ride  #3

Basic Instinct  #44

I haven't listened to the album yet, but from what I've heard it's good :'( She needs justice

Honestly it must be a case of not reporting the numbers yet :rip:.

I expected her to do 15-20k. If she did like 5k :rip:

She didn't even promote this album on Black entertainment stations, programmes (The Breakfast Club, Hot 97 etc) either and there was some talk on Twitter that her team is mostly white. It's very clear that she wants a (white) soccer mom following but she's not thinking about the fact that she's 30+ and black and it would be harder for her to make it as a popstar now. Even acts like Taylor are struggling at the moment.

Part of me don't understand why she wants to appeal to that demographic. Though, if you consider the fact that she was clowned a lot prior it would make sense for her to try and "find" a new demographic that'll treat her better.

Even when Ciara is not flopping she get's called a flop (a lot of people considered self-titled a flop). For some reason the standards set for Ciara is her Goodies day which is not gonna happen.

True, I also thought it could be due to the trauma and the bullying she received over the years. Even Black blogs like Sandra Rose used to (and still does) attack her.

However to crossover, you have to let it happen naturally and this hasn't really been the case for Ci since Fantasy Ride. Tinashe had the same problem - RCA and partly her were trying to force into pop instead of it allowing to happen eventually.

But now the audience she's trying to appeal to now aren't buying her music. Although she did receive hate from the black community at times, they still showed out when it came to Ride, Body Party, I Bet - those three being her biggest hits of this decade. Even CIARA's first week sales outsold Jackie & Beauty Marks. That should be an indication. As a black artist, if you don't have or allow yourself to be co-signed by black people, it's unlikely you'll get anywhere. There are exceptions but not the norm.

I do hope this album makes her realize that a big part of the black community DOES support her. Also she just sounds so much better in Urban leaning songs her soft-tone is "unique" in Urban songs but plain in Pop songs.

Not surprised. As other side, I couldn’t find any physical and she has virtually no Spotify support which is what matters in 2019.

At least they keep 1,2 Step alive at #1 on every 2000s Playlist :eli:
