Tracklist  Army of Me kinda explains itself, the lyrics are pretty straight forward and I feel threatened tbh. I kinda wish the aggression was more prominent in her voice and sound tho, but the lyrics fit really well. Pluto was a very inch resting listening, yes, but I don’t think it fits the theme, there’s nothing “angry” about this song, she’s pretty much just talking about evolving and leaving the old her behind. As for the David songs, Hallo Spaceboy is definitely more industrial sounding than his usual music but that doesn’t make it “angry”. Look Back in Anger is another disappointing choice (but an underrated masterpiece and I love the video), just because the word “Anger” is in the title doesn’t mean the song is about anger. Having someone like David Bowie whose discography is so big, this was such a missed opportunity and let down.

Explanation: Okay BICTH, you snapped with this one lmao I love the creativity. I don’t necessarily _agree_ with everything you wrote as I already explained in my songs critique but I appreciate going for an unexpected route and this was great.

Sabbath: Solarie -

Title:

Cover: (It looks so well made btw)

Tracklist -

The first Elvis song fits the theme, obviously, but I just wish the lyrics were more…MORE, you know, especially compared to the second track (Avril’s) where she’s so descriptive about her feelings. Can’t Help… is better and I think we all expected this choice (not a bad thing) and yeah, it’s definitely a classic. Wish it wasn’t as repetitive but I like the lyrics more than the ones in Love Me Tender. The second Avril song is again way stronger than the second Elvis song. I didn’t know this song but I actually enjoyed it a lot, the lyrics are very well written and get the Love theme across very nicely.

Overall, I think this is nice but the Avril songs pretty much carried the EP because the Elvis songs were very basic lyric-wise.

Explanation - Yeah, the explanation makes sense to me. And I agree the four songs feel “true” and be played at weddings. I get where you’re coming from even if the Elvis songs didn’t do that much for me compared to Avril’s.

Sabbath: Guero

Title:

Cover:

Tracklist -: I wasn’t expecting Pink Champagne #shook. The song itself it’s pretty meh, it sounds kinda childish even, I get the lyrics about partying and stuff but I feel like it falls a little short. Funky Reggae Party I like better, it has the right vibe and the lyrics paint this image of a fun party better than the Ari song, it even says that no boring farts are allowed kii.

I don’t think successful fits the theme at all :dead banana: like yeah, she says she’s having fun but the song itself isn’t about the fun she’s having but about being proud of her accomplishments. Lastly, from jamming, I get that jamming brings him joy and it’s something he likes to do so that’s fun but it’s kind of a stretch.

Explanation -: The explanations are fine, I wish you pulled a Solarie and did an “overall explanation” of your concept that helped put everything together. Overall the entire entry is kinda underwhelming.

Sabbath: Erikills

Title:

Tracklist - : Okay, first song Lay Me Down does a great job, it’s definitely heartbreak and you can tell the hurt in every verse. For Middle of Nowhere, I’m not so sure. It gives the vibe of feeling lost after someone leaves but doesn’t exactly give me heartbreak the way the first Sam song did. Too Good at Goodbyes feels more like a song about a relationship that’s ending than heartbreak itself, I feel like lyrically isn’t as strong as LMD was. There’s obviously a sad/pessimistic vibe throughout the song but it isn’t exactly “heartbreak”. Salt also is on the same vein, you can tell she’s singing about this relationship that is dead but doesn’t give me “heartbreak song”, i think it feels too superficial.

Explanation:  -: I love the way you did this with a “storytelling” approach. How Emotions + Religion on POSE of you. I like the way you used the songs and made them make sense on the explanation, which helped improve your songs score a tiny bit. I think this part was very well done, but since the main part of the challenge was to submit an EP about heartbreak and 3 out of 4 songs don’t give me that very well is what sabotaged u a lil. If the songs were different and you kept this approach it would’ve been a really strong contender imo, but I appreciate the effort and thought put into this.

Honestly I really don’t have complaints to be honest. Your explanation for the tracklisting and organization was spot on and I couldn’t see any flaws in your song choice. Love is one basic ass title but other than that  Slay I guess

Speezy – Guero
Girl…GIRL. First the cover was cute but I was expecting a single cover like what majority of your competition did. Even a photo of a beer could’ve got you the full point.  Next issue is Succesful, At one point in my stan career I did support Ariane but Succesful does not fit in here in my opinion. 7 Rings could’ve worked. Your explanation was cute but what you could’ve done is explained your cover a bit.

Speezy - EriLoves
Unlike Ariana/Gearo’s entry, those pics are not the tea. Your explanation was put together but Amanshe or whatever the name was took away from the moment that you had. The songs for the Tracklist were fitting but Middle Of Nowhere was on the fence in my decision

Speezy - KATYCATPH
Cute cover but the explanation was very “flop artist making a comeback”-esque. The tracklist was very bothering because Charlie outshined Taylor in the “maturity” department. Long Live and your explanation for it was not doing it for me. IMO dedicating a song to the fanbase is not mature or immature.

Speezy - PINKBOX
Really good explanation, Cover could’ve been 1 photo. The tracklist is perfect and I’m currently going through a slight decline in my life and these songs did come through
Cute title

Speezy - INVISIBILITY
The title really needs “The”  in the title but those are choices Executive and artists make when creating EP’s. The explanation works but the Tracklist is all over the place. One minute I felt like I wanted to be Free next minute I felt like beating a bitch up and going to jail.

EP Tracklist These Charlie Puth songs are really not fun to listen to LOL. However, they fit your theme. Through It All is a cute selection! On the Taylor side, I liked “Long Live” as a choice quite a bit. The weakest one for me lyrically was “Clean” -- there were some elements of the theme, but I felt like it was a bit too focused on heartbreak. All of the songs had a similar sonic quality too which helped make this a pretty cohesive EP.

Explanation - Your explanations were very spartan. As a summary, they got the point across, but you definitely could have done some more to help tie your EP together.

Element: PinkBox -

EP Tracklist - - Okay let’s take this track by track. I get what you’re trying to accomplish with “I Will Talk” and I feel that the sweeping instrumental/melody is absolutely on point. Lyrically it’s solid -- I definitely enjoyed the line where he says he’d take back the rights/money to his books and movies. “The Power of the Dream” is absolutely phenomenal for this theme. The lyrics and composition really scream empowerment anthem. “Better Man” is another fair choice… probably the weakest on the EP to represent the theme. BUT THEN we get to one of my FAVORITE SONGS EVER. I love That’s The Way It is so much and it works really well for this theme ugh Celine is really an empowering queen isn’t she. That damn key change at the end. My wig!

Explanation - 3/3 - Very in-depth and creative descriptions! I liked your interpretation of the theme. You crafted a believable narrative and united everything with a consistent sound as well. Great work.

EP Tracklist - “I Want to Break Free” displays the theme in a pretty simple manner, but I wish there was a little more substance to it. The lyrics were a bit repetitive. “Don’t Tell Me” is a much more creative way of stating the theme, so I enjoyed it a lot. “I Want It All” is a good choice that was probably the best sonic representation of the theme. “Human Nature” works well with the unapologetic chorus, and while I appreciate her satire and rhetorical questions, that seems to be a bit overpowering at times.

Explanation - 2.5/3 - Good explanations all around. I like how you took us through your decision to express four different approaches to independence. While I don’t feel this EP really tells us a story, I think it does a good job of compiling the theme in one place.

EP Tracklist - YES to all four songs. You really made out so well with these two artists for this challenge!

Explanation -  I think you did a good job explaining the inclusion of all the songs in this EP. You walked us through multiple sides of sexual experiences.

EP Tracklist - - Thank you for putting this playlist together for quick access! Much appreciated. “Army of Me” is a good introduction to theme, although I wish there was a little more diversity in the lyrics to expand on things. The sonics work though. I feel the same way about “Hallo Spaceboy” -- the overall tone of the song definitely makes you think of frustration and rioting. “Pluto” is a really unique experience in that she doesn’t have much lyrical content at all, which if I’m judging on lyrics, can make this tricky. Again, however, the emotion is definitely felt in the pulsing and chaotic production, and of course with her literally writhing and screaming in the second half. Finally, “Look Back In Anger” is probably the weakest choice for me since it doesn’t have the same sonic intensity as the previous three songs. Overall, I think you did a really great job of crafting an EP based on soundscapes -- anger is an emotion that can be represented well in this way. Where the lyrics lacked at times, the raw emotion was felt through other channels.

Explanation - 3/3 - LOVED the creativity here and the way that you integrated all of your points seamlessly into the review. Very nice.

Me at Sabbotage calling Elvis lyrics "basic" when that's literally how they wrote songs in 60s, expand your horizons basic b"tch . Ever heard of I'm a Beliver, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Good Vibrations, The Twist, Unchained Melody or any other classic from that era? Because they are surely written in a very similar and short manner.
