Sgt. Pepper Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Ed won't break the record. There will be another See You Again or Black Beatles come out of nowhere. Second case scenario would be Bruno pull a Sorry or Starboy on his way to his 7th #1

I believe that the formula would be much more flawed if all of the metrics were weighed equally. That's because they are not used equally. I wasn't talking about that, though. I was just saying that they should never (and, to their credit, they have never done this) change the chart because of what is going on on the chart (like really long-running #1s).
Queen. Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Why no frauds debut in the top 10? It hit #1 on iTunes!!!!

Aka recurrent rules for an example. they didn't like how long songs hung around, so they implemented a way to remove them for being around a long time. that is just one example of how they've manipulated the charts, there are many others over the years. that said, yes, they are probably still one of the most accurate in many ways. Just frustrating in other ways. id really like to see not stressing genres to not be punished for not being "uptodate" in technology. It's like before stressing was added and people wanted it added because they weren't being represented. Well good, but it punished those non streaming genres. A bit of hypocrisy there, but it 2017 and streaming is huge part of music industry now, it's now streaming fault, it's not billboard fault that some genres and non existent in streaming services. just promote it more, show older people (because I guess that also a "thing") how to use streaming and all of that. also, a lot of older stuff isn't on streaming, like only by couple months whole Prince catalog was added to streaming, why is that? I know Prince didn't liked that thing. you can easly stream whole britney spears or beyonce catalog, but it's hard to stream whole cher or barbra streisand catalog...

Well there is really nothing they could do. Shape Of You would be #1 by a lot right now completely irrelevant of what formula they would use
pepsimanvn Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 the top 10 is so depressing. let's just say if there's NO surprise factor or viral song coming out of no where, would the current progression for That's What I Like be enough to block Shape Of You from getting the record? It's catching up in sales, but still a lot behind in airplay and streaming.

That's Feeling's weakest component.
