Ed won't break the record. There will be another See You Again or Black Beatles come out of nowhere. Second case scenario would be Bruno pull a Sorry or Starboy on his way to his 7th #1

They sacrifice accuracy every week by using a made up formula that favours different metrics differently, especially when bit all genres equally use the metrics.

I believe that the formula would be much more flawed if all of the metrics were weighed equally. That's because they are not used equally.

I wasn't talking about that, though. I was just saying that they should never (and, to their credit, they have never done this) change the chart because of what is going on on the chart (like really long-running #1s).

You wrote "why no frauds debut in TOP 10", you never said DIDNT debut

The song didnt debut because it was not big enough, being #1 on iTunes does not mean a TOP 10 debut sis

because after it hit #1 on itunes it tumbled down very quickly so overall sales were very bad, as well streaming was bad. radio was non existent. 14 is actually very good position.

Well, they  may have never changed because what is number one and how long, but they've certainly changed things because if what is happening in the charts.  Aka recurrent rules for an example.

they didn't like how long songs hung around, so they implemented a way to remove them for being around a long time.

that is just one example of how they've manipulated the charts, there are many others over the years.

that said, yes, they are probably still one of the most accurate in many ways. Just frustrating in other ways.

id really like to see not stressing genres to not be punished for not being "uptodate" in technology.  It's like before stressing was added and people wanted it added because they weren't being represented. Well good, but it punished those non streaming genres. A bit of hypocrisy there,

but it 2017 and streaming is huge part of music industry now, it's now streaming fault, it's not billboard fault that some genres and non existent in streaming services. just promote it more, show older people (because I guess that also a "thing") how to use streaming and all of that.

also, a lot of older stuff isn't on streaming, like only by couple months whole Prince catalog was added to streaming, why is that? I know Prince didn't liked that thing. you can easly stream whole britney spears or beyonce catalog, but it's hard to stream whole cher or barbra streisand catalog...

Well there is really nothing they could do. Shape Of You would be #1 by a lot right now completely irrelevant of what formula they would use

the top 10 is so depressing.

let's just say if there's NO surprise factor or viral song coming out of no where, would the current progression for That's What I Like be enough to block Shape Of You from getting the record? It's catching up in sales, but still a lot behind in airplay and streaming.

It can certainly achieve 52 weeks. This song's longevity is crazy. The perks of being a soundtrack single.

Funny. I haven't seen a soundtrack single with this longevity in so long

JT's longevity is even more impressive because the longest running Hot 100 songs do so with the help of streaming. That's Feeling's weakest component.

There have been other rap interludes making it on the Hot 100 since I do these predictions. Can't remember 1 of the top off my head though

If you consider "Forward" from Lemonade an interlude, then no.

they blocked themselves from getting 16 weeks, the same as THE record.

Ed still has 605 points, the number two song has 391. by a very stupid and simple logic, even if he would be loosing 50 points by week he still will managed a lot.

605 points - 9th week

550 - 10th

500 - 11th

450 - 12th

but it almost guaranted that weeks 10 and 11 will still have like 550+ points. he isn't slowing down
