I like Accelerate but it kind of gives me a headache, what a messy song. WTP is a big bop, the only thing from Teyana's that I returned to really. Ghost Town is... I overplayed this a lot in January 18 and it didn't have a ton of replay value, but tbt to a time when Cardi B was still new and exciting. She killed this boom bap vibe. SLIME Posted December 30, 2018 Author Share Posted December 30, 2018 My favorite songs of 2018 uwu :3 1. Playboi Carti f/ Lil Uzi Vert - "Shoota" This album was a big grower. Less of a rap project as we know it and more of an experimental sound collage. I'll have more to say about it later, but whereas most of its Yo Pi'erre-produced tracks combined to the effect of a hazy and slightly disorienting listen, this standout was the opposite -- a total shot-in-the-arm adrenaline rush attention grabber. The build up is quite simple in its genius. Uzi and Maaly Ran tease us for a good minute before Carti drops in the same time as that floating synth line, and it's all over. Rest of the song is absolute pure ecstasy for me, hitting that same simple spot every time. I mean it's my SOTY lol. I could go on about all the details but bottom line is hardly anything else this year made me feel this good so I need to honor that. Not even too big of an Uzi fan but here he is in the #1 spot 2 years in a row, he must be doing something right.
