mokitsu Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 10. US Girls - Half Free 9. Kelela - Hallucinogen EP 8. Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late 7. Tame Impala - Currents 6. Lana del Rey - Honeymoon 5. Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion 4. Beach House - Thank Your Lucky Stars 3. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly 2. Miley Cyrus - Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz 1. FKA twigs - M3LL155X this was kinda a weird year huh? there were barely any notable or good pop releases. drake dropped good music. many r&b and alternative acts were dropping masterpieces. for that reason i started listening to more outside my comfort zone and discovering a lot of new artists. i do still question myself why i keep putting dead petz on this list and on the top three but listening to it is such an experience, it may not be polished (at all ) but i guess it works?
mokitsu Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 10. Swet Shop Boys - Cashmere 9. ABRA - Princess 8. Bat For Lashes - The Bride 7. Daughter - Not To Disappear 6. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition 5. Rihanna - ANTI 4. Kaytranada - 99.9% 3. Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered. 2. Frank Ocean - Blonde 1. Beyoncé - Lemonade this year was a bore besides the impressive Rihanna, Frank and Beyoncé albums, most of the pop releases fell flat and even the ones that i loved at the time - i have starboy and pablo in my original top 5 - just aged like milk and don't warrant the revisit.
mokitsu Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 10. SZA - Ctrl 9. Zola Jesus - Okovi 8. Red Velvet - Perfect Velvet 7. Tennis - Yours Conditionally 6. Alvvays - Antisocialites 5. Toro y Moi - Boo Boo 4. Rachel Platten - Waves 3. Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy 2. Katy Perry - Witness 1. Kelela - Take Me Apart this was a fun year! lots of interesting and refreshing releases, and i still listen to most of them. i didn't really have to change much like some atrlers (arcade fire was in the top 10, what the freak was that), and i stand by my choices
